  1. It would be a good thing if the RTP started doing actual police work. But, since nobody takes these guys seriously, the warning does not mean much, and will not have much of an effect. However, if they backed up the warning with real action, the police might gain the respect they so desperately seek, more people would survive and less kids would be maimed and traumatized for life, by these horrendous creatures.
  2. Issan is wonderful. Alot of lovely people, amazing national parks, gorgeous women, and alot to see. Also, some major cities. Some people are just highly judgmental. Ignore the ignorance!
  3. Granting a monopoly to True Visions was a horrendous and likely highly corrupt decision. Monopolies are bad for society. Their programming is very inferior.
  4. We are seeing the beginning of outrage and victim culture. Surely a step backwards for mankind. Being a victim over a mild perceived slight is the opposite of being a hero or a courageous person with dignity. Hope it won't last long.
  5. In Los Angeles now. Was at a busy and popular restaurant last night. Had a booth near the area where people walked by, to go to the rest room. Had a viewing of at least 100 patrons up close. 2 good looking women, 45 homely ones and alot of whales. And that is LA. Imagine Omaha?
  6. They need a management shakeup. I was told by a friend that they were dictating lineups and substitutions to Roberts, and that answers the bizarre decisions made in the sad, pathetic, and catastrophic end of this season. Perhaps the most corporate of all baseball franchises right now.
  7. In the US, cheap accommodations are a thing of the past. A friend just rented a small one bedroom apartment in Burbank. Decent area, but not high end, at all. $2,100 a month, +++. Short stay airbnb in this area are $1,500 a week, for a 40 meter studio. Food is outrageous. Big cities in the US are now more expensive than Monaco or London.
  8. The world is a very different place than it was pre covid. So much has changed. I would consider going back to live in the US, if I found a sponsor, or a job, willing to pay me $3 million a year. And then, only for 2-3 years! Otherwise, I am happy to stay here. Less hassle. Less boring. Less predictable. Malls at home are fabulously boring. I kind of like them here. Good food, AC on a hot day, and amazing bird watching. And I would rather park 5 blocks away, and walk, than deal with the terrors of a crowded garage.
  9. True about the crush. At this stage of my life I avoid huge crowds, at all costs. The last time I was in a stadium, it was for a Dodgers game. I arrived early and left in the 8th inning. No thanks, with the huge crowds.
  10. If you prefer excessive rules and regulations, better to stay in Europe, the US, Oz or NZ.
  11. Good. Anytime Thailand can force a thug communist criminal out of there, it is a good thing. Maybe he works for the crime lord Xi. Will they let him back in and what kind of commections does this overly rich creep have, is the real question.
  12. Both. But, the tragic part is that it gives dumb, ignorant, nasty, grouchy, uncharitable and hateful people a voice. That is a horrendous thing for society. They simply were not heard before, and the world was a better place for it.
  13. Largely correct. University used to serve a vital function. These days, that is not necessarily the case. Unless one graduates with a medical degree, medical tech, nursing, an MBA from a top 20 school, or a degree in engineering, the prospects are not what they used to be. And the debt can be outrageous. College seems to be a racket these days. Big business. And who wins in the end? The university. Vocational school, or specialized training, may have more application, in this world.
  14. In general, the art of parenting seems to be getting lost. Letting grandparents raise the kids is tragic. They are even more lenient than today's parents. It creates a very weak generation.
  15. I think he is a xenophobic stooge, for the administration. Not sincere about much, other than his dislike for foreigners and expats. But, he is likely a dangerous man to our community.
  16. Spot on. One of the worst things to happen to civilization and popular culture in a very long time. Along with Twitter and Instagram, these (fame seeking) platforms are dumbing down society, and helping form a netizen victim culture. Also, when you give ignorant people like Kyrie and Kanye a platform, they will misbehave and say dumb stuff. Social media is not a step forward for mankind. (This forum excepted, lol).
  17. Thai beer is only rivaled by Serbian beer, and the mass produced American beers, in terms of the very low quality. Poor grade of hops, barely, and the production process seems to be entirely lacking in pride. Typical of the big monopolies. Even a large production beer, like Beer Laos blows away any Thai beer, hands down. Thailand desperately needs a vital craft beer movement, and the youth are ready to mount it. If only the dinosaurs would stop protecting their "bankers" and move out of the way. In other words, allow some progress, you backwards dinosaurs! It is almost as if they equate the craft beer movement with youth and rebellion. Keep the youth down, at all costs, and continue to protect the billionaires.
  18. Am I the only one who is totally suspicious of this man's sincerity? I don't buy his game for a minute. It appears to be all about publicity seeking and hunger for the limelight. The real question is, why was he brought back from exile? Has he done anything worthwhile? In a land where little is done to fight corruption, it seems some are convinced he is the savior. The one and only? Really?
  19. What a concept. Why would these guys do anything to benefit the common people? Thaksin was the last one to pass some populist policies. Prayuth? Seriously?
  20. I don't know if they fly out of Pattaya. No idea. Check it out.
  21. Thailand was a land of immigrant for 1000 years. Sukhothai, Ayutthaya, and Chiang Mai (Lanna) were major trade capitals throughout history, and remained very open to outsiders. Countless traders came to Thailand and ended up staying here. Ever wonder why you see so many different looks? Persia, Sumatra, Laos, Burma, Vietnam, China, India, Sri Lanka, and the list goes on. It is only recently, especially since the ignoramus nationalist Phibun that Thailand has developed a closed mind, a nationalist mindset, and forgotten where and how they fit in, in this world.
  22. Actually, Biden has done quite alot. And he is likely somewhere in the middle of the list. Trump was likely 43rd, after Andrew Johnson and Buchanan. Harris is a different story. https://www.cbsnews.com/pictures/presidents-ranked-worst-best/2/#app
  23. Defending democracy from what? Itself? Or the 7 million more voters? Every court has ruled against Trump, and his wizard of Oz claims. Every court.
  24. When we lived in Samui, we used to use Air Asia out of Surat. It did swallow alot of hours. But, it was kind of fun to deny BA those tickets, which are very over priced. Sometimes we got super deals as low as 200 baht to Bkk and same with the return trip. Fortunately, Surat Airport is not a worthless airport like Hua Hin, which barely ever sees an airplane.
  25. Perhaps it is time for nations like the US, to deny all Thais the ability to purchase real estate. Tit for tat. Maybe that will get the attention of the goon squad. And it might make it harder for the generals and the super rich to buy high priced condos in Manhattan.
