  1. The people have to make a statement, the people have to remove the 250 crony senators, and the people have to find a way to turn this nation around, and drag it back from the stone age of dinosaur leadership. Prayuth, Pratin, Anutin, and Phiphat, must go. These guys are toxic, corrosive, corrupt, ineffective, incompetent, untrustworthy, very bad for the nation, and virtually assure a rotten future for the nation, a drop to 87th place in GDP, and increasing irrelevance. They have already turned Thailand from the tiger of SE Asia, to a sorry, rabid, whiny, anemic alley cat.
  2. Unlike in Thailand, in the US fleeing from the scene of a crime, much less one that causes death, is taken very seriously. Perhaps she will learn something from this. Perhaps years in prison will help her develop some maturity and substance as a human being. Perhaps it will help her to be less obsessed with herself and allow her to evolve into a person of care and compassion. Maybe.
  3. Most normal, well adjusted people do not wave knives around in public, much less when there are kids around. Lock her up. She appears to be insane.
  4. The nation needs to figure out a way to dissolve the senate, and get rid of the super corrupt army appointed senators. Until that happens, there is little hope for the future.
  5. It is never a smart thing to engage in a fight with a Thai. If you win the fight, you lose. If you lose the fight, you lose. No way to win. Better to be an adult, and avoid confrontations, as much as possible.
  6. Does anyone remember all the controversy he stirred up four or five years ago? He went from being chief of immigration, the being fired and banished. Then he re-appered, was put on some police committee, then dismissed. Then he became chief of police. Go figure. It was the latest turn of events for Surachate’s career. The immigration chief was abruptly removed from the force in April 2019 and transferred to an obscure civilian post under the Prime Minister’s Office, though he remained largely missing from the public until the shooting earlier this month. https://www.khaosodenglish.com/politics/2020/01/27/big-joke-left-country-days-after-govt-warning/ From 4 years ago: The former limelight-loving chief of immigration is having a hard time holding down a job this year. In April, he was removed from his high-profile post atop the Immigration Bureau without explanation. He was later removed from the force and reduced to a civil servant in the bureaucracy. https://coconuts.co/bangkok/news/joked-around-former-thai-immigration-boss-pulled-from-new-job/
  7. He is a tiny man who cannot handle the slightest bit of criticism or a harsh word, even though he is incredibly easy to poke fun at. He gives us alot to work with!
  8. Which hospital? Sounds like BH. One of the costliest in Thailand. Many insurance companies are no better than the New Jersey mafia. Total crooks.
  9. I have done road trips on smaller bikes, and found it brutal on my body. If you are young and hearty, go for it. I would definitely wear a good quality helmet, with a good shield, and find good rain gear. No, a 7/11 raincoat will not work. A good raincoat and rain pants would make a big difference.
  10. Yes. Likely not sexually, but in general the bromance with Putin demonstrates not only his love of men, but his love of despots and dictators.
  11. I don't have a PC bone in my body. I do not do PC. So, you are asking the wrong guy about Sturgeon. No, I don't agree with any of those bizarre Uber policies. But, my point was in reference to the exiled man.
  12. I consider him to be a phony. How many of those he has very publicly gone after, have been convicted and are in prison? Really. Very few. It is all a big show, meant to deceive the naive into thinking something is actually being done. He is a PR stooge. If you really feel otherwise, cite some examples of the results of his work. He was outrageously xenophobic as head of immigration. I believe to the point where he was not only dumped, but exiled. He became a huge liability, and said some highly ignorant stuff. How he was revived is anyone's guess. I would be totally supportive of a real crime fighter. But, I don't support imposters and publicity hounds.
  13. I think he has become much less relevant since being exiled to Florida. But, the media has a fascination with him, and reports his every move and statement. And that keeps him alive. Ironic how the so called "fake media" is providing him with what little oxygen he has.
  14. Well, although it is true he will pick on anyone, women seem to be a disproportionate target of his. I don't think he likes women much, except as objects of a fantasy.
  15. This terrible leader has led Thailand backwards, at an astonishing pace. They still have not learned much. This was a great learning opportunity for Phiphat, and the other goombahs. Obstacles and tragedies can be learning experiences, for mature men and women. And they can offer a path toward improvement, and progress. But, apparently that does not apply to these authorities and so called leaders. Phiphat (and Prayuth) you have made history. 100 years from now, in the hospitality industry classes at the university level, they will still be teaching about you, as the men who presided over the once great industry of tourism, the men who helped destroy the industry millions depended upon. They will talk about you when the students are visiting the hollowed out shells, of once formerly great hotels, as the men who helped precipitate the demise and decline of Thailand, from the tiger of SE Asia (and at one time the 21st largest economy in the world) to a whiny, sickly, skinny alley cat, on it's last legs. And on par with Burundi, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Yemen, and Sierra Leone, after it has dropped to the 97th position in the world.
  16. Pol. Gen. Surachet said Mrs Tabthim was sorry for what had happened and police will now coordinate with the US authorities to extradite her. Fortunately, in the US sorrow is rarely taken into account, when it comes to sentencing. I hope she is locked up for a very long time. She richly deserves this. She is a small coward.
  17. No, no, no. This is a huge misunderstanding. I was installed to protect my cronies, all police and army members, and my family. I simply cannot and will not go after any of them. It is not in my DNA. Lip service yes. Real action, no.
  18. Perhaps they should look within their own ranks, if they are truly interested in combating drugs.
  19. She appears to be a very small human, who is not emotionally equipped to take responsibility for her actions, nor the damage she causes in life. And in the US, fleeing from the scene of a crime is taken very seriously, unlike here. Let us hope she is extradited, and spends decades in prison. She richly deserves that. And it will be alot harder for her to buy her way out of this in the US, though not impossible if she has $5 million to throw at a legal team. She deserves punishment not necessarily for the accident, which may or may not have been her fault. But, for the extreme cowardice of fleeing the scene, then leaving the country. Reprehensible behavior.
  20. No. Both Burmese and Thais are being kidnapped as slaves and forced to work on the fishing fleets.
  21. Sounds like bullying to me. Why would the students or the teachers admit to this? And what is the likelihood of someone brave enough to come forward with the truth, at the risk of becoming a pariah? Denial, and obfuscation are so common here. Truth is not.
  22. This highly toxic man is still reeling over the fact that America banished him to Florida. Anything for a bit of attention, as he becomes less relevant by the day. And any opportunity to attack a woman is something he cannot resist. I too don't like woke politics. But, it is likely this is more about his failed business ventures. Just another Trump property losing money.
  23. Total speculation, without much to back it up. It will likely be years until they reach that mythic number of 39 million again, if ever. And many of us hope it will never happen.
  24. Guess he is not really that smart. Anyone in his position should have asked for proof of ownership, and some sort of lien on the property. And he should have insisted on meeting the sister. Real collateral and proof. Otherwise, it is just a fool and his money, and that makes it hard to be sympathetic.
  25. He decisively declared that the parents - Phut, 19 and Nim, 17 - know where the child is. But then he admitted that currently the whereabouts of the child are unknown. This publicity seeking man, will say anything to attract attention to himself, in his never ending quest for personal attention. The degree to which he is insincere is astonishing. Lately, he has been attacking his own. Not sure how much longer they will permit this. They already banished him once, for his outrageous xenophobia, when he was chief of immigration. He brought great shame to the department. Is he doing something similar again? I would love to see him banished once and for all. Some of us wonder how he rose from the ashes the first time.
