  1. Strictly a face saving measure. Likely he was instructed NOT to pursue the case, and likely Interpol has been ignoring the supposed red notice, as they likely do not consider Thailand credible. Everyone knows this guy, and every other super rich person here is above the law. Any and all laws. No sincerity at all in this false gesture. Who was the last very rich person, top cop, top immigration, customs or army official here, who was arrested, tried, convicted and sentenced to prison? Bet you can't name one.
  2. Nobody has ever defined that prohibition intelligibly. I can understand crowded bars, and clubs, where you have to shout to be heard, and in the process you release alot of spittle. But a restaurant or hotel? Why? It only appears to be an additional hardship for hundreds of thousands who are only trying to make a living, and patrons who are only trying to let off a little steam and enjoy some much needed recreation. If anything, allowing drinking in restaurants brings down the national crime rates! Beer does not cause Covid. Neither does wine. But, prohibiting acholol sales does sabotage an industry and contribute to the continued destruction of the nation's economy. The CCSA continues to prove on a daily basis how lost in space they are, how out of their element they are, how in over their heads they are, and how extreme their denial of science based facts is. Idiotic politicians who institute highly selective shutdowns, while favoring their cronies and the rich developers and factory owners, and allow corrupt border officials on the take, to ply their trade, does cause the spread of Covid. So much more could have been done to prevent the spread, and even possibly the entire 3rd wave. Let them all reopen. Time to let covid go.
  3. And this has nothing to do with climate change, rising sea levels or anything caused by man. We are innocent, and we are very careful and responsible stewards of this amazing planet. Ever vigilant.
  4. Amazing how many candidates are disqualified here. Is Thailand the "hub of electoral disqualification" too? Most of us know this nonsense is all about. It has very little to do with the law, fairness or equity, and likely has everything to do with power grabbing, corruption and partisan tomfoolery.
  5. Anything to this story? Anutin is less sincere than Kim Kardashian. One can only hope he is sincere about the health and well being of his people. That would be an amazing development, and a very refreshing change of course for him.
  6. One can only hope he is sincere about the health and well being of his people. That would be an amazing development.
  7. And this is just one of the many uses of a translator app. We are talking about transferring a third of a million baht, for God's sake. Some self preservation instinct? Just a tad?
  8. Some creativity is needed. Something. Anything. Just one soul thinking outside of an incredibly small box of convention. The level of conservatism and conformity here is mind boggling.
  9. Dumb and dumber. And obviously not much of a marksman! There have got to be better ways to settle a dispute. And now she is on the run. What can one say? What a sad, helpless sort of freak she is.
  10. There is no other option that to alert the bank, and make them aware of the mistake, if the funds are sent to you by mistake. I am not fond of banks, and would think nothing of taking them for a ride, if I thought I could get away with it! It would have to be a clandestine act, and very carefully planned. But, how are you going to get away with something as foolish as this? It is so open and notorious, and now the police are on alert, nationwide. Dumb and dumber.
  11. Any act of generosity like this, is gratefully appreciated. And noted. Truly a wonderful gesture. Motives are not important. It is the very act that is noble and wonderful. Good news for a change!
  12. It is ideal as a gateway to the south, and as a way to ease congestion on the roads. Getting in and out of Bangkok is so difficult, and the highways are a nightmare during the day. There is more going on than meets the eye here. No idea what the agendas are, but they make no sense to most of us.
  13. The level of desperation at this time is so high, that they will claim anything that resembles any sort of good PR, praise, or recognition, as a great accomplishment. It is as if it is in inverse to the stunning lack of accomplishments of this highly toxic, and nearly useless administration. And the media here, in their sycophantic state of mind, will do or say anything to praise the leadership. It all amount to less than zero. Anything the so called leaders, or media, do or say is so laden with fiction, and so lacking credibility either here, or especially on the world stage, where Thailand is considered less relevant than ever, unfortunately. Soft power. Is that really the best you can do? It would be amusing, if it were not so reaking with desperation.
  14. Thailand is likely one of the last remaining countries in the world to require this. It is juvenile. It is oppressive. It is sheer denial of science. Especially mask use outdoors. It is likely a way to keep the people afraid, paranoid and prevent them from taking to the streets and expressing their extreme disappointment with the leadership here, who have failed them on nearly every level and are despised. Masks disappear and so does the emergency decree. Kudos to the foreign tourists for ignoring this inane stupidity. Show the locals what intelligence and free thinking looks like. Defy stupidity.
  15. Likely the worst selection possible. Could they have possibly found a guy with less leadership ability and less nobility, and more thirst for power and wealth? I doubt it. Woe is Thailand under his so called leadership.
  16. No, but where do we have true leadership these days? Is there any such thing as a noble leader anymore? If I were to offer some advice and criticism to Prayuth, I would say: True leaders really are in the service of their people. True leaders act with integrity and in doing so they establish trust. True leaders genuinely value their people and in doing so they create loyalty. True leaders are in the business of assisting people to realize their full potential, and in doing so they inspire excellence. Nobody can demand respect, loyalty or trust, like you constantly do. These things have to be earned. There are no short cuts, no way to cheat the process. Great leaders have integrity and truly value their people. And you do not inspire confidence, as you have never had any follow up in your weak game, you are highly insincere, and grossly incompetent and under qualified for the job. One would think after 8 years you have had time to learn. That does not appear to be the case. Prayuth, you are a terrible leader. You continue with your daily lies, and you are at a stage where nobody in this nation, other than some of the generals and cabinet ministers take you seriously anymore. You have undermined your own credibility time and time again, with bad information, fake news, broken promises, and terrible leadership. Do you even know what the definition of leadership is?
  17. First you have to define truth. Truth is not truth, as defined by Rambling Rudy. Truth is one of the most manipulated things in the universe. There are countless forces that want truth to be suppressed, at every turn. Real truth? It does exist, but how to find a source without an agenda? Even many publicly funded sources, which are likely to be more truthful, have an agenda. So, the wise approach is to choose several sources, then compare the information, or read everything assuming it might be fake, or at the very least colored, and biased. I think most media is biased. And nearly everything we see on social media is fake or highly colored. I consider most social media to also be highly toxic, and corrosive for society. Recently my sister in law went through a divorce. In the time leading up to the divorce, she was incessantly posting stuff on facebook, about his infidelities, and other indiscretions. I kept asking my wife, why would she do that? Why does she want everyone to know, and to see a tragic event in her private life? But, she had lost all of her ability to discriminate, and make that kind of decision, due to a life of obsessive posting online. She lost all of her perspective, and those posts are a permanent record. That stuff is public. It is out there, and it exacerbates humiliation, for those who do not think things through.
  18. From what I hear, his youth was also an issue, as the older (supposedly wiser and self anointed senior ministers) guys would not listen to him, and made life hard for him.
  19. Absolutely agree. Especially regional airports like Hua Hin, one of the least utilized airports in the world, despite it's perfect location for a regional hub. They have been talking about more flights for years now, but so far nothing but blabber.
  20. Well, while that may be correct, common sense would dictate asking for someone's real name, prior to transferring a large amount of money, to put yourself in a position to prevent exactly this kind of mishap. It is part survival, part self preservation and just smart business.
  21. There are countless issues here, which prevent wealthy people from visiting, much less living here. There are a few wealthy ex-pats living here. Maybe 50. Likely, most of them are single. I doubt if any of those issues are being addressed. In order for a problem to be solved, it requires smart people, with open minds, and some humility, who are willing to admit the problem exists to begin with. The current crop are dull, completely lack creativity and initiative, and their level of hubris makes improvement nearly impossible. They are only capable of moving backwards, hence the generally backward movement of the nation.
  22. I think he is correct. The highly toxic and spectacularly corrupt senate should not be able to pick the PM. This is a horrible system, designed to steal the position against the will of the people. But Abhisit? Does this guy have any credibility? He was not much of a PM, when he had his shot. And is this the best the democrats can do?
  23. Sounds like Saowanee is not too smart. She is not going to get away with this for long. And as to the original transfer, Wirawan must have been in a hurry. The app clearly states the name of the account holder, prior to transfer. One always has to check that information carefully, especially so when transferring large amounts of money.
  24. We discussed it. We realize without Covid, the primary tool for repression of the masses is gone, and the reason for an emergency decree is gone with it. Better to not downgrade yet. We want more time, we want more power, we want more money. We want more of everything. Our greed cannot be satisfied. Give us more.
  25. Looks like they have failed to attract the higher end tourists they were so desperately seeking. Maybe Thailand does not have the qualities to attract them after all? Maybe they have not made the sacrifices required to attract the well heeled? Wait a minute. Have they made any sacrifices? I do not think so. They have simply opened the doors again, and expected the world's finest to come flocking in. Earth to Phiphat, Prayuth, Anutin and the goon squad. The world does not work like that. Thailand is not the center of the universe, and improvements, sacrifices, and forward progress may be needed to get the tourism industry back on it's feet, after the extreme sabotage that has taken place.
