  1. A few years back I bought some Ritter chocolate and a friend of mine who was a chocolate connoisseur had one bite and he said this tastes like wax, this is the worst chocolate I've ever had in my life. I think that after his observation I have to agree with him. All governments, and all government officials are at the very top of my list of things that I don't like.
  2. Fortunately Vance has zero chance of ever being president unless Trump croaks. I believe that the American people are going to be very sick of Donald Trump within the next year or two, and I believe his policies are going to run the country into the ground. Vance is a true empty suit. He makes Tim Walz look like a heavyweight.
  3. Dimon is a criminal who should be in prison and was never asked to pay a price for his voracious greed and partial responsibility for the housing collapse of 2007. Then again America seems to be getting used to having criminals as leaders.
  4. My sense of it is that when we were younger we just don't seem to mind the crowds. I think some people even seek out the crowds, but as we get older we realize that the crowds have no allure, and some of us run in the other direction when it comes to avoiding the crowds. I read about cities like Barcelona that are staggering under the weight of tens of millions of tourists, and it just sounds absolutely horrific. The Thai government seems to have an intense desire to attract as many tourists as is humanly possible, and their hunger for tourism seems insatiable. But the people are paying a huge price for that unquenchable greed.
  5. Thank you for outing Elon. His insincerity is only topped by his boss. Wait. Who is the real boss?
  6. Seems like there might be a larger man in the room than Don. He complained that we were betraying the Afghan people, so how would one describe his current behavior? Giving away the store to a serial killing dictator friend? He has always been highly compromised, when it comes to despots. He adores them.
  7. The real questions are why was he in such a hurry and why was he willing to take such chances with his life and with his safety? Did he not consider even for a moment that his life may have been at stake?
  8. We can assure you that we're going to surrender all the gains in territory that Russia has made. We can assure you that we want to negotiate directly with a dictator without your presence. Furthermore we can assure you that we're putting horrendously bad negotiators on the job in the form of both Trump and Hegseth. Lastly, we can assure you that Trump adores Putin and he will do his bidding, and we will give away our negotiating positions prior to the beginning of negotiations, like a terrible negotiator does. Those are our assurances to you the Ukrainian people. And Trump was complaining that we betrayed the Afghan people, what exactly is he doing now?
  9. Looks like a pretty horrendous scene, when a place becomes that popular and gets that crowded it's just not fun anymore. Who on earth would want to be there hanging out with such massive sweaty crowds? I don't think so. I just don't understsnd sheeples anymore. The government should not complain, they're constantly talking about wanting to increase tourist numbers, and they've made the visa process so simple. What on earth are they expecting?
  10. Is Bob really back? Or is someone trying to claim his pedestal? Some thought I was long winded. He is setting a new bar.
  11. Great point. The big question, is Trump the change that we needed? Is Trump the man that he says he is? Is Trump the man that his supporters think he is? Is Trump sincere about the well-being of the nation and its people? Will Trump put the well-being of the nation above himself? Will he destroy alliances and will he coddle dictators? Will he golf less than 150 times a year on the nation's dime? All that remains to be seen. I do have some friends that will come right out and say the man is a butthead, he's an idiot, and he's an absolute clown, but I like his policies. Those are the Republicans I admire.
  12. It's starting to appear as if Musk bought the proxy presidency and Trump is his underling. The four year old tells Trump to go away. You are not the president. LOL. great stuff. Musk is running the country. https://youtu.be/J6j-hncT4OE?si=UNVgTp_uli1WqhVi
  13. Even just the thought of Trump doing something to benefit the nation, and to increase the financial security of the nation is beyond the ability to comprehend. That's just not who he is.
  14. Truth social is one of the biggest scams in the history of mankind, the company has absolutely no value other than that which his supporters put on it. If you doubt that, talk to me about the net profit of the company.
  15. I do admit they were two absolutely atrocious choices, Trump or Harris. As a Democrat I do understand why a lot of people selected Trump, but that does not mean I like him one iota, and that does not mean I have a nanogram of respect for the man.
  16. Mennwhike it becomes more apparent by the day, that Trump and Musk have a Bush Jr. /Dick Cheney type relationship. Musk appears to have bought a proxy presidency. Anyone in doubt should watch this video, where not only does Musk command the meeting with Trump holding his head down on his chest in submission, but Musk's 4-year-old son tells Trump exactly how things are. The four year old tells Trump to go away. You are not the president. LOL. great stuff. Musk is running the country. https://youtu.be/J6j-hncT4OE?si=UNVgTp_uli1WqhVi
  17. Thailand should be encouraging as many foreign teachers as possible, especially when it comes to teaching English. Most Thai English teachers are grossly incompetent, and it's one of the reasons why Thailand has the lowest English proficiency scores on the planet. It's time for this nation to man up, it's time for the adults in the room to realize that there are certain things that foreigners are better at than the locals, and to stop the extreme paranoia about a few hundred or a few thousand foreigners occupying specific positions that are needed and required.
  18. Seems like these days invading your neighbors is the new norm, and it's become acceptable by certain members of this forum.
  19. I understand that most hotels do ask for to see my passport, but I've never had a hotel ask to see my visa stamp, that was the issue. This is not required by law and this was something exceptional that the hotel required. If they're going to require something exceptional and then turn you down and not allow you to stay and complete your booking, which has been paid for, they must offer compensation or else they are just thieves in the night committing an act of piracy.
  20. Did anyone see the press conference with Musk and Trump in the Oval Office? Musk's son appears to say to Trump you are not president you should leave, and then wipes a booger on his desk. At least somebody knows how to show this man the disrespect that he richly deserves. And the kid is likely repeating what Musk is saying at home.
  21. A lot of these guys with guns are hotheads so I do agree that speaking some Thai would put you in a position where you are better able to diffuse a tense situation. I think a lot of these shootings are about simple misunderstandings and the loss of face.

  23. This kind of thing is proof that civilization is not moving forward any longer, but rather we are devolving as a society. If anybody questions whether or not there is intelligent life on other planets I believe Earth is proof that there is. Can you just imagine if we were the only "intelligent life" in the universe? What a waste of space that would be!
  24. I feel infinitely safer in Thailand than I do nearly anywhere in the United States. I think the same would apply to the UK. Though the homicide rate here is high, 99.8% of it is Thai on Thai, and it involves young gangs, young thugs, and wannabe mafia types. It's incredibly safe for expats, in all the years I've been here I've never had a single incident that's caused me to give this place a second thought. I have a friend who's visiting now from the San Francisco area, and he tells me that every night a car on his street either gets broken into or gets stolen. That's the nature of life in America right now. No thanks.
  25. I tend to agree. I think Trump and his rank amateur bottom of the barrel picks are creating a state of emergency. In the first month of his presidency he has made the world infinitely less stable, and this man needs to be stopped.
