    Respect others and be respected.

Sure. I have used that word alot. But, I am not the representative of a nation. I am not engaged in diplomacy. He insulted 1.2 billion people, and 54 nations, including a few prosperous ones, like South Africa. He is a village idiot. He considers nothing and nobody, before he opens his vile mouth. And he is a racist. Of that I am sure. His racist credentials are assured by his words and actions. He respects nobody. And nobody respects the circus clown, charlatan huckster in chief.

You say "There is no doubt this charlatan uses a cart."     That statement is not definitive....it's your opinion.  You're guessing.

Thanks for the medical opinion on his condition Dr Spidermike.

Blowing money is just par for the course.

Newly revealed orders show that the Secret Service had to chip in $7,470 to rent golf carts while President Trump spent Thanksgiving at his private club Mar-a-Lago.

According to USA Today, the expense added to the already sizeable amount the agency has had to spend on renting the diminutive course-covering vehicles, with the current total reaching at least $144,975 so far.

The contract to rent golf carts in Florida is not with a Trump-branded course but rather the Miami-based Golf Cart & Utility Distributors.

This charlatan is so lazy, so slothful, he will not even walk around the White House grounds-

President Donald Trump is no fan of physical exercise, having stated during the campaign that waving his arms during speeches is just about the only exercise he thinks he needs, and he is not a fan of simple, self-propelled bipedal mobility either. To save himself the physical trouble of having to walk his own body throughout the hallways of the White House, Mr. Trump has reportedly had several golf carts brought inside in order to more easily transport himself between White House rooms and offices.

White House custodial staff are not impressed with the golf cart’s wear and tear on the carpets, and have expressed frustration with Mr. Trump’s driving abilities.

“The hallways were designed and built 200 years ago, and, to be frank, a golf cart has no business being in here,” said White House custodian Rob Warner who works the day-shift. “And, to make matters worse, the President is not a careful driver. The walls have scuff marks and dents, every hallway corner has been beat up, the exhaust is darkening the walls a few shades… I don’t want to think about the cost of these damages.”

The worst drivers, however, are reportedly Mr. Trump’s children. “It’s alway a catastrophe when Donald Jr. and Eric come to visit,” said Deacon Packman, the graveyard-shit custodian. “They race each other down the main hallways and are always breaking antique furniture pieces that are often gifts from other nations. The President just laughs it off and then writes the White House staff a check for any damages, but the checks always bounce. And it’s not like you can put a price on these historical antiques anyway.”

I'm 57, married nearly 10 years to a much younger wife.  We have a baby girl nearly 1 year old.  Very happy.  We lived in Thailand the first 2 years (plus dated for 2 years before that).  Then Japan for 3 years. Now in Hawaii.  I'm about to retire & we'll return to Thailand for a couple of years.

My wife is very gentle and patient, as one must be as I'm not the easiest to get along with.  Our marriage is drama-free.  She works at home & makes a decent living.  Anything she earns will be used to support her parents as they age. I support the 3 of us. I had several "criteria" for a potential bride when I was single which included:  (1) She must have a college degree (she has 3) to show that she can apply herself; (2) Must get along with her parents & siblings.  They are very very close & loving Thai-Chinese family (3rd generation in Thailand).  My wife is not a partier; doesn't drink; we are both more or less introverts and we get along perfectly together.

I feel very blessed; our marriage has enriched my life greatly.

You followed the cardinal rule. You took your time getting to know her, and now you are reaping the benefits of your patience, and your wisdom. This is such a common mistake. Most women want to step up the timetable, and if a man is not strong, and does not stick to his principals, or have a determined agenda, he is often overwhelmed by her lack of patience, and the fact that alot of women want it all, and they want it yesterday. You are blessed. You found a good one. Me too. I took 9 years before marrying her. And she has become a BETTER version of herself, since we got married! In a million years, that would not have happened in the US.

For the men out there who are trying to find their way, in this rather complicated arena, always remember one thing. Take your time. The bottom line is this. Take your time getting to know a woman here, or anywhere. Time is your ally. It is rarely their ally. They are usually trying to step up the timetable. We need to push back. We need to assert control. An environment like this allows us to do so. Take advantage of that. Be a man. Step up. Pay tribute to the gender. Refuse to lay down anymore. Refuse to be a doormat. Refuse to check your cajones at the door. Start making the decisions, and stop saying "honey what do you want?". "What will make you happy?" "Where do you want to eat?" I have so many friends, who come here, and from the very start, make the same mistakes they made back in the West. Except here, they do not need to make those mistakes. The environment does not dictate that they behave like lambs. Many do not know, or realize that, or they succumb to "force of habit". Every ship needs a captain. If the man is not willing to be the captain of the ship, the woman will take over, here in Thailand. Most women here seem to want a strong man. But, if they end up with a wimp, they will take charge. Someone has to.

Always remember, if it is good, it is only going to get better. If there are problems, or if she is a big baby, who only looks like a real woman, but in reality is a 13 year old, or if she is a con artist, if she is only in it for the money, those realizations will manifest themselves over time. Time allows clarity. Never, ever move too quickly. That is the undoing of most of these guys. Be like Bond. be a real man. Man up. Do yourself proud. 2 years minimum, before you commit large sums of cash, or commit to marriage. And that is two years, full time! Now is the time to show who you are.

And lastly, the one about getting along with the parents is a good one. Often, that is a sign of an emotionally healthy woman. When I used to date, the two questions I would ask were-

    1. How is your relationship with your mom and dad? How about your siblings?

    2. What is the most money you have ever spent on a handbag? Wow. Was that ever a revealing question. The answers were all over the map, but inevitably demonstrated alot about her character.

  4. This article was written 16 months ago. See how wrong these experts can be? Amazing. The US economy is not doing nearly as well as the government would like us to believe. On a macro level it seems to be faring well. But, unless you are in the top 5-10% of the economic food chain, you are not seeing much of anything within the US. And consumer confidence is incredibly low there.

You guys were complaining about him playing too much golf recently. Now you're complaining because you contend he does NO exercise.

    WHICH IS IT?

I get it...you complain about anything, for the sake of complaining. You really need more than a keyboard in your lives. Perhaps some exercise would help?

A GP can establish a person's mental state very quickly, just in conversation, and assess if further testing is required.

But as an earlier poster said, it's all academic because there is no obligation to publish the results.

I think his detractors have missed that he has turned 'baiting the left' into an art form, and are suggesting he's mentally unstable because they can't lay a glove on him. They go after him, and he just pokes them more. They can't stand it, so revert to what they know best, criticize and abuse.

Sorry, but golf does not qualify as exercise, unless you are NOT using a cart. There is no doubt this charlatan uses a cart. Probably a 24 carat gold plated cart. Probably a bullet proof cart. But, he uses a cart. So, the only exercise he gets is using his jaw excessively, and swinging a club. Not much. There is no doubt that an extremely toxic condition exists in his body, mind and colon. He could really use the exercise, and there is a chance it would tame some of his insanity, and temper some of his outbursts.

A reasonable point. But he invites character assassination with his complete lack of character. Even my friends who are ardent supporters, admit what an incredible fool this man is. It is hard to defend him. How do you begin to defend him, besides using the lame excuse that we MUST offer our respect to the office of the president. Where I come from, respect is earned, NOT freely given. He has not earned any respect. He does dumb things daily. He behaves like a circus clown and he is a huckster. Plain and simple.

  7. But, as the GOP likes to say, the is no connection between the wild and erratic weather swings, and carbon output, resulting in climate change. The earth is so large, how could all of the garbage we are spewing into the atmosphere, have any effect? And the 52, 000 merchant ships worldwide, and the hundreds of cruise ships? Nah. Nothing. And the 100,000 plus commercial flights per day, are having no effect on the atmosphere. Nothing at all. You can count on the word of the charlatan, and his party. They are concerned with your well being, and commercial interests would never cloud their judgment.

Yet, we are seeing record heat waves in Australia, bitter cold winter weather, the melting of the ice caps, the thawing of Greenland and Antarctica, monster hurricanes, and alot of erratic weather. It must be all one big coincidence.

USA is a country, where all outlaws of Europe and other areas gathered. This makes up the US. So what do you expect from those "citizens"?

A statement like that cannot even be regarded as the workings of a coherent mind. What are you basing your outlaw theories on? The US is a country of outlaws? The Cuban boat crisis? Most immigrants that came to the US, came in the late 1800's and early 1900's, during a time when Europe was rife with war, pestilence, poverty, and oppression. Jews were being persecuted, and life in Europe was very poor. They were hard working people, who brought alot to the table, and helped to make America what it is. Or should I say, what it was. Unfortunately, it is no longer that nation. America is no longer a great country, and nobody, especially the circus clown huckster charlatan, will make it great again.

Are you aware that Mexico is a 2.2 trillion dollar a year economy? On alot of levels, Mexico has a more sophisticated culture than the US. Especially now that the average American is gorging on reality TV. The US culture is only going backwards. And you are proof of that. So is the circus clown in chief.

It feels as if there is no room for debate. It is a if the man is a saint, and his virtues and choices cannot be questioned. Open minded, are we?

When was the last time a current, high ranking member of the army or the administration was charged, and imprisoned for being complicit in this ongoing national tragedy?

    Last year

And was he imprisoned? I remember him being charged. If so, how long was the sentence? I do not recall any follow up. Perhaps he was let go? And even if he was imprisoned, which I doubt, he is one of many. And perhaps he pissed someone off. Perhaps he did not share the incredible wealth he was earning?

  13. There is no question that the baring of a buttock could lead to the cultural and moral degradation of the nation. People should not be exposed to buttocks. It makes them think bad thoughts. LOL.

Actually, are they questioning her choice of baring her butt, or the legality of the whitening cream?

I think it has been proven that most whitening creams contain carcinogenic ingredients. The whole society is inane, when it comes to the spell they are under, with regard to whitening. Alot of it is due to the ads and TV shows they are exposed to. All of the super rich people are whiter than Casper the ghost, and all of the poor people are dark. Mass hypnosis.

Many of us know how beautiful color is. There are so many women in this nation that have no idea how gorgeous their dark skin is, and what an incredible attribute it is. They have to figure out a way to engage in self love. Self esteem. Being happy with the lot you were given in life is an amazing thing.

  14. The highest-level changes include the country’s ministers of commerce, agriculture, energy, labor, and tourism.

It was not immediately clear what impact the reshuffle would have.

The reshuffle was to improve some ministerial positions for the benefit of the country’s administration, the statement said. The reshuffle follows the resignation of a labor minister.

If they were talented to begin with, perhaps the constant cabinet shuffles would be unnecessary?

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-thailand-politics/thai-pm-reshuffles-cabinet-for-the-fifth-time-since-coup-idUSKBN1DO1TT

  15. The real issue is that there are no qualified office holders, at the national level. None. So, everybody would have to be removed. There is no such thing as a meritocracy here. Virtually no jobs are awarded based on merit. And this applies especially to the guys at the top of the pyramid, who are so lacking in talent, intelligence, creativity, vision, and skill, it boggles the mind.

  16. In 2011 the then-government announced the following ten years as Thailand's 'Decade of Action on Road Safety'.

It declared 2012 as the year of 100 percent helmet use on motorbikes.

In 2015 the Department of Disaster Prevention, which is tasked with road safety in addition to problems like floods and landslides, boldly announced a target of reducing road deaths by 80%.

    All in vain.

The challenge they face is not hard to see. Thailand's rapid development has bequeathed it an unrivalled network of 462,133 roads in the region, nearly all paved, with plenty of multi-lane highways.

There are 37 million registered vehicles, 20 million of them motorbikes, and millions more that are unregistered.

Driving on a Thai expressway is akin to playing a hyper-caffeinated video game. A cursory web search for road accident videos will throw up examples of breathtaking, sometimes suicidal, recklessness. Drunk driving is a huge problem.

And this is part of the reason for the incredible amount of road deaths here:

Police Sergeant-Major Kanthachat Nua-on can attest to that.

At a speed trap he had set up on a stretch of elevated expressway outside Bangkok, he watched car after car pass him at speeds well in excess of the 80km/h (50 mph) limit. He did not bother to ticket them.

"If we strictly follow what the law says, and issue a ticket for people driving over the speed limit, then we will end up booking everyone."

It is called sloth. Incompetence. Indifference.

Your charts all stop in 2011. **cough Obama cough**

Yes. I agree that Obama made little progress when it comes to reforming immigration policy. But, that does not excuse the boneheads lack of progress either. He continues to jabber on and on about illegal immigration, the whole while never even suggesting a fix for the system, that is totally broken. Not making America great again. Not even close. Just sucking up to the lobbyists, and whoring himself out to the highest bidder. That seems to be all this administration is about. Taking America away from the common folk, and handing it off to the corporations and the wealthiest. From the tax plan, to the health plans, to the environmental policies. Selling off the nation. No vision for the future. Take the money now.

  18. When a half man loser is confronted about taking responsibility for a mistake he has made, or an offense he has caused, the reaction is always the same. Denial, obfuscation, blaming the "fake news", and engaging in the deflection this huckster is so good at. Anything but admit the truth.

This nitwit continues to shoot himself in the foot daily. He will be his own undoing. Though he has gotten away with alot, and some of his supporters and devotees continue to give him a free pass, with every infraction and mistake, it will add up. He will be responsible for his own fall. And it will be spectacular. Some of us cannot wait for this to happen.

There has never been a doubt about his racist credentials, nor the degree of hatred, xenophobia, and darkness in this man's tiny heart. Time will simply reveal that over time. Along with so much else about this circus huckster fool.

  19. What the most astonishing part of the this entire conversation is, is the expectation that somehow these guys are honest, and NOT corrupt. How is that even possible? Just because they said they were going to wage a fight against corruption, somehow they are given credit for being honest? Is their affiliation with the army a reason they are being given undue credit? The fortunes being made by the top guys, at this very moment, are astounding. Anyone who thinks otherwise, is naive at best. A watch collection? If the people only knew.

More than likely, this is the primary reason, they are so desperately clinging to power.

  20. "I probably have a very good relationship with Kim Jong Un," Trump said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. "I have relationships with people. I think you people are surprised."

Just another example of the real dotard, and the parallel universe he occupies. I really think he should get back on his meds. He is an utter incompetent neophyte, and a nincompoop, who proves everyones doubts every time he opens his mouth. He literally just makes this stuff up as he goes along. He started telling lies to his grandmother when he was three years old. And he has been doing it ever since. Up until now, he has not really had the world stage he has always craved. Now, his words are being studied, and the world is figuring out what a circus clown huckster charlatan, he really is.

  21. As I have stated previously-

And why are these drivers speeding in the first place? The primary reason is the toy police force. Nobody, and I mean nobody takes these guys seriously. There is absolutely nothing in the way of a deterrent here, and both the local governments, the central government (weak Little P.) and the police do not take traffic safety seriously. Not even one iota. The safety of the public means less than zero to the small men in charge here. Nothing. They show that on a daily basis.

They will not do a thing. Why? They do not care about the people one iota. Not the common people. Not the average pleb. No way. Never have cared, and may never care in the future. It is all about protecting the elite, the super wealthy, those that are connected, and those in power. The rest of the population? They do not matter. The ex-pat community does not matter. And the police will not get involved unless an accident has already occurred. There is no prevention. None. The idea of getting the police more involved, is an interesting one, and it would be an effective one. But, the issue is money. They are grossly underpaid, and until the government steps up, and spends the trillion baht on updating the police equipment, and paying each cop a living wage, it is not going to happen. Until then, they will just work the franchise.

When I was growing up, we took drivers education classes. They showed us these horrendous films, of semi trucks crashing into cars, and literally obliterating them, and everything inside. Also, they showed very graphic images of head on collisions. Even as a young kid, it left a lasting impression, and I realized driving was no joking matter. Especially when you have your friends, or loved ones in the car with you. I am constantly astonished at the kinds of chances people take here, with their entire family in the car with them. Why? What is the logic? What is the reason? Why take those risks? Often, when someone cuts onto the highway in front of me, as I am doing 100kpm or more on the highway, I look in my rearview mirror, and there is nobody behind me for quite some distance. Which means, had they paused, and waited 2 or 3 seconds, there would have been zero risk to them, their family, or me and my family. What can one even say? All of this matters even more when driving a motorbike, where there is no protection.

The only way to survive here on the road, is to be patient, have eyes in the back of your head, drive with caution, and always, and I mean always watch out of the other guy. Chances are, he does not have much driving skill, nor patience, nor reason, nor common sense. You cannot be too careful on the road here. Especially considering that the toy police offer no traffic safety, nor enforcement of the law.

    Now for my scooter rant:

Many of us drive motorcycles or scooters here, and it is dangerous getting on the roads with some of these other drivers.

Getting on a scooter, or a motorcycle anywhere in Thailand, much less Phuket, Phangan, Dark Tao, or Samui without a very good helmet, is like playing Russian Roulette with three or four bullets in the chamber. It is absolutely asking for problems. The degree of recklessness here is astounding. And many foreigners come here thinking "how much trouble could I get in on a little scooter, on a tropical island"? Well, the answer is alot. The amount of foreigners who are killed on the Southern islands is staggering. Most are not reported in the media. I had a friend who worked for Samui rescue for many years, and said the numbers were about 30-60 a month, on Samui, Phangan and Koh Tao. The official number is about 3 a month. Rider beware. Use as good a helmet as you can afford, and do not use these eggshells pieces of crap. They crack at the first impact, and what lies underneath them? Your skull, which is very delicate.

Just ask yourself- do I have enough problems already, without a broken skull, or smashed head, or face injury, or lost eye? I have two friends who have been in motorbike accidents on Samui within the last two years. One still cannot walk, or talk or function on her own, from a motorbike accident, where she hit her head on the pavement going only 20 kph. The other one has lost alot of his mental capacity after hitting his head. He insisted for years he would never wear a helmet. Now, he seems 15 years older.

I was told by a very reliable source. He did not have an agenda. He rescued alot of the survivors. He attended to alot of the ones who did not make it. The press here is highly censored. The report only what the so called leaders want them to report. Nothing else. Social media? Why would social media report these statistics? They report individual accidents, but not overall statistics. Anything you read about accidents on Samui in the media would be false.

    • Road deaths are now calculated based on fatalities on-site. Victims dying later in hospital not counted.
    • In 2000 there was an average of 30 deaths a month on Koh Samui (official figures released each month).
    • Now it is stated that Koh Samui has 3-5 deaths each month (using the new way of reporting road deaths).
    • In the last ten years the population has almost doubled and there are now 5x more vehicles on Koh Samui.
    • Based on ‘official figures’ today it is possible to estimate that Koh Samui currently has 60 deaths per million per year. (Compared to 23 in London.) Based on the population and traffic density statistics from 10 years ago Koh Samui has in reality 720 deaths per million per year. This is probably the highest rate of road deaths in the world. Samui is a fatality death spot that nobody is willing to acknowledge!
