You must be very smart though because you say socialising is perfectly safe whereas almost every expert in the world would disagree.
Very, very smart. A stable genius. LOL. Heat is the blessing here. It decimates the virus. We will not see big numbers. I estimate it will fade out at less than 5,000 cases total. Hope I am right.

Socializing is perfectly safe, as long as you keep your distance, do not shake hands, and avoid anyone who is coughing or sneezing. We are talking about 1000 infections in a nation of 68 million people. Panic is setting in, and alot of inane thoughts and edicts are being tossed about. There is absolutely no need for the entire nation to self isolate. The virus will come in cycles. One two week cycle does not mean the end of this virus. Common sense is required, in the absence of intelligent leadership.

Yes. I have a high end PM 2.5 meter. When I close my windows my levels go from 0.33 to 0.01 in less than an hour. And that is impressive. It seems to be working well. It has hepa, and you can also get the charcoal insert. Plus, they sell bacterial filters too. And fluorocarbon filters. It is a good unit.

The question I ask, 'has he done any worse than anyone else in any other country?', and the answer is 'not really'.
.... not to mention the USD is doing far better than any other western currency at this time ........
....... and a free $1,000 ........
Print money today, and worry about the consequences tomorrow. Not saying that helping the average pleb out is wrong. But, for the average person, is that $1000 really going to make the difference? Of course I would still be slamming him. He is the utter representation of incompetency. He rarely gets it right. He waited about 6-8 weeks too long, to act. There were warnings back in December. Before his famous lockdown of China on Feb. 2nd, he allowed over 300,000 Chinese to come in January. And even after the lockdown, he allowed US citizens to return from Hebei province, and Chinese with green cards, to freely come and go, without any of them being checked. Competent?

What do aquarium products have to do with the FDA?
The FDA does everything in it's power to protect big pharma. Chances are, they have no interest in a run on a generic drug. So, they are putting roadblocks in the way of the hydrochlorquinone. That would be my guess. The FDA is the one who issued the alert about the dangers of taking it. What is their agenda? Public safety for them is usually their last consideration. They are a truly heinous organization.
If an herbal company, that is making a perfectly benign product does not spend $2-3 million on FDA tests, they will issue warnings against the product. Democratic? Or fasco/capitalismo?

Who is talking about a 24 hours lockdown? If there will be a curfew, which is possible, we're talking about 7pm-7am. That's Level 1 in the Emergency decree.
Wissanu is pushing a plan to lock down the entire nation.
No curfew has been implemented yet but one is possible, Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-Ngam said in a briefing, adding it could be a 24-hour prohibition with exceptions for essential activities like buying food.

Not to worry. Corona has already beaten Trump. Mylie Cyrus could beat him, at this point in November. His presidency is dead. Every day he shoots himself in the foot. Some of the things he has been saying about the virus are the very opposite of the kind of leadership a nation needs in a time of crisis. If only they could get him to lay off his phone for a few days, the markets might correct a bit. Every time he tweets, the markets drop. What can one even say about this guy?

In Arizona, a man died and his wife was hospitalized after taking a nonmedical form of chloroquine used to fight parasites in aquariums.
This is so typical of the FDA, which is a stunningly corrupt organization, that cannot be trusted on any level. They are twins to Big Pharma. This guy swallowed aquarium products and died. What on earth does that have to do with the use of this medicine. Beyond inane.

Invest in the highest quality air filter you can afford. It is all about the size of the filter. Good air filters need massive sized filters. You are dealing with horrendous air quality, and that wears the lungs down over time. People can develop allergies to pollution, which wreaks havoc with the respiratory system. With the Corona going around, you need your lungs to be in very good shape.
The Xiaomi pro is one of the better filters available, here for the money. And the replacement filters are under 1000 baht.

there is panic all over the globe.
the source for this panic is high rank officials in the world health organization.
they took over this crisis and the result is disastrous.
the virus is in thailand since at least january, so why panic now?
if the virus is so deadly, so why thai hospitals are not jammed with sick and dead
people?
because just now the WHO told to all government : "PANIC ! NOOOOWW!!!"
i can see the same panic all over the world, besides the UK and US who took
the herd immunity approach, and it seems quite succeful.
Definitely alot of sheep panicking, and not thinking things through. And the army is taking advantage of this situation. When they do declare martial law, which appears inevitable at this point, the people will rejoice, and say they are doing it to protect us! Only later will they realize the enormous extent to their errors in judgment.
The WHO is creating panic. The media is creating panic, and fabulously incompetent administrations like we have here, and in the US are creating panic with policies that change from day to day, and no coherent plans to deal with either the infections or the millions without income during this crisis.
The US is having very little success in controlling this. Almost 12,000 new cases yesterday, and they are only now starting large numbers of tests. Hopefully the heat here will help to keep things under control. And now, the ninnies are talking about a 24 hour nationwide lockdown? What can one even say? Many experts say this virus is cyclical, so it is questionable how effective self quarantine is, anyway.

We appear to have men of truly mediocre minds making inane decisions that affect everyone. It is very easy for this guy to suggest a lockdown with his fortune. But, what will the average person do to survive? Will Prayuth, Prawit and Wissanu volunteer part of their personal fortunes to assist the masses?
The army seems desperate to consolidate the power they lost last year. They are whipping the public up into a frenzy. Still under 1,000 cases, and four deaths, yet they are behaving as if the sky is falling. Something does not add up here.

Some caution needs to be taken. No doubt. But the army appears to be whipping the public up into a frenzy. And why would they do this? Perhaps the abhorrence of democracy, and the desire to regain all of the powers that were previously lost? My wife just drove up to her village in Issan, and they are monitoring every single person who comes back, at the village level. The masses are buying into the panic. We live in a small town, where there are no cases at all. Yet, they are treating here as if she just returned from Italy, China, Iran or the US. It is inane. And now a curfew? And then martial law? Does anyone see where this is going?

I am sure you know this, but I am repeating it because I just had first hand experience.
The reported case are only a function of the testing kits of which none or very few are available.
My sisters daughter (love her to death, like a daughter to me) located in NYC, started feeling sick three days ago, Tired, sore throat, pain in her lungs. She tried to get help on the phone for hours with no success. And she is well informed as she is a professional, and my sister is Also a registered nurse and an upper level manager for a National home care organization.
Trying to impress that these people are much better connected than the average Joe.
Anyway Yesterday she developed a fever also and went to the emergency at the local hospital. She said it was a zoo and felt bad because there were so many people there much worse than her. After several hours there they took an x ray, told her that she did not have pneumonia yet , but did not test her for the virus because they did not have enough test kits. Send her home and told her to keep trying the number.
It is very frustrating because both my sister and me are stuck in Florida and all we can do is call on the phone.
That's all I know, I did not want to press my sister for more info as she was very upset , 6 am here , can't sleep, being up since 4 am, I will call my sister later today to find out how Nataly is doing.
VERY FEW PEOPLE ARE BEING TESTED. (sorry for the caps) No one has any idea how many people are infected. Personally I think the test kits are delayed on purpose to artificially keep the numbers down.
I would advise her to start on a regimen of Azirthromycin and Chloroquine. They are having success with this cocktail in France and India. Worth a try. Better than doing nothing.

No. He is being very smart. He is allowing Trump to shoot himself in the foot daily, at those inane press conferences, that are really campaign rallies. He will trounce Trump in the election. Just wait. Corona already beat Trump. His presidency is over. The US is the next epicenter. We see it happening daily. Up to 10,000 new cases a day now. The US will surpass China's numbers in a few more days. It is just getting started. So much could have been done, so much earlier.

Maybe I am mistaken or don’t fully understand the virus as yet.
You May have the virus but show no symptoms, thus allowing you to travel or work. Then after a week or two you get sick or start showing the symptoms. Can the virus be spread prior to showing symptoms,or does it get transmitted once the symptoms arrive.
I personally hope that the Thai authorities lock the place down and enforce it with military presence. If not this will continue to escalate and continue for months. I would much rather go through a 4 week isolation or shut down than going on for months or even a year. People have to relize that a lot of Thai people live day to day and cannot afford to have no income for months on end. Better to have a hard shut down for a month, than a year of misery.
A large part of the reason for worldwide panic, is that this is the first virus that I know of, that you are able to spread to others, without being at all symptomatic. I think this is what is causing the greatest degree of concern, this is what is affecting the markets so profoundly, and this is what it causing massive over reaction from the Thai army, and many governments around the world. What is the 7pm curfew going to accomplish? All nightlife is closed anyway.

The army has done a good job of instilling alot of fear in the public with mixed messages that change nearly every day. So, people are panicked. The system is likely overloaded. Remain calm. All of this is going to work out. Somehow.

The US will be the next epicenter. Not could be. Will be. The infections are up to 10,000 new cases a day. America already blew right past Spain, and currently has almost 54,000 cases. They should pass China within a week. My estimate is they will eventually quadruple the number of cases in China. I just hope the death toll is not too high. This could have been prevented. The Trump travel ban on China was imposed on Feb. 2nd. It still allowed all Americans and green card holders to go back and forth. Not smart. And it is estimated that over 300,000 were allowed in from China during the month of January, well after the NSA advised the administration that an epidemic was starting in Wuhan.
There is no question about a global recession. US economic numbers could drop by 12-25% fiscal 2020. Thailand tourism may drop by 80% this year. Not the inane 20% the TAT is yakking about. My hope is that we can avoid a global depression from this. This is unprecedented stuff. When the shutdown ends, how do you re-start the economy? How do you bring back those 16 million restaurant workers in the US? Where do they go back to? Will the people begin eating out again? Will they go back to the movies? Will they start traveling again? Will Thai tourism ever bounce back to it's former levels? I do not think so.
The US administration has downplayed this, every step of the way, until finally admitting it is a real issue. Remember, just a few weeks ago Corona was a democratic hoax.

Total shut down for 2 or 3 weeks must be done. It's not going to stop the virus in its track, nothing except a vaccine can. It's just the way this virus is.
No objection from me if it means curfews or soldiers/police on the streets.
I don't want to get sick or die from this because some think no-one has the right to stop them having parties or going to the bars.
Shut everything except food shops and pharmacies.
Medical services need as many breaks as they can get.
You are getting your wish. Looks like the army is imposing a 7pm curfew as of tomorrow, and is on the verge of imposing martial law.

I sort of go with the virus being killed off if it lands on a surface that gets full tropical sunlight and high UV levels ( hence vindaloo was tongue in cheek ) no scientific knowledge/proof on my part to justify my thoughts though it feels like it makes sense. There will be the arguement 'what about the middle east?' Dare I mention general lack of hand washing, years of war and water priority is for drinking, and all eating from the same central dish using hands and a not too well advanced health care system unless you're stinking rich. Anyway you get my jist.
So in general I agree with the idea of heat and throw in a good dose of UV.
India? I'll still go with 'hold that result'. Lots of people in close contact.
Edit.
Anyone got a digital thermometer to check the temperature of their car parked in the sun here for an hour. Outside and inside the car?
Also, the middle east is not hot this time of year. Averaging around 16-24 in most areas. Not hot enough.
Now we are getting a flip flop from the army. There was a general "go home, get out of the big cities" attitude last week. Then photos surfaced of the Mo Chit Bus terminal being jammed, and they were embarrassed. This week they are saying please stay in cities and do not go home. However the cities are locked down and you don't have a job. What can one say?
-
My wife is visiting her home town in Issan. She drove there today. She was told the local officers are coming around and telling people who are returning from big cities to self quarantine for two weeks. The people are getting really scared. Caution is good. Panic is not good.

Not spices. The heat. The air temperature kills it. And it retards the spread. Just look at the list and compare highly populated warm countries with colder countries. We have an advantage.

100 new cases a day is still very mild. And the four deaths is very low for 800 cases. All I am saying is no need to panic. We are quite safe here. Just take precautions.

That is largely my point. It has been here for months. If the numbers were going to explode, it would have happened already. I am not buying into the panic.
