Thailand's Air Pollution Crisis Hits ASEAN's Collaborative Agenda
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
In an effort to obfuscate the lack of real and effective effort that she and her hapless Administration are making, she wants to pass the blame on to neighboring countries. There is no doubt that there's a lot of burning happening in neighboring countries and that and this is an issue. However get your own house in order young woman! You have shown yourself to be ineffective to a fairly astonishing extent so far. -
To think this is coming from a man who claims that he cherishes democracy and constitutional law. First Greenland, then the Panama Canal, now the UK. What will his next ambition be King Trump taking over the world? Trump has already shown his fealty to Xi, by encouraging Rubio to give up on Taiwan. It is likely this clown will soon be dropping the idea of tariffs, in a further show of obedience to Master Xi.
-
This man is not only semi insane and semi senile, he's wholly delusional. He truly thinks that he's king of the world, and he truly thinks that the world will bow down to his every whim. There are probably a dozen strong and valid reasons why these people would not want Greenland to be part of the US, starting with healthcare and including having a bonkers leader. Who would want that?

There are a lot of very bizarre science deniers out there who love to cry fake. What can one say? All you can do is shake your head and say I'm sorry your brain was wired like that.

It not only is symptomatic of an astonishing degree of sloth and indifference, but it is also very telling in regard to a complete misunderstanding of the severity of the problem and effective ways to address. It exactly what I would expect from our current ivory tower brand of leadership. Pita would have been so much better for the nation, the Thai people and the potential for a better future.

A rant about Thai driving.. I know.. Yaaaawwwnn
spidermike007 replied to 1happykamper's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Nowhere else in the world have I seen people consistency take the kinds of chances and risks in the road, that they take here, with their families in the car. Nowhere. When they could have waited four seconds to make the uturn or turn onto the highway, and have a completely clear path, they instead choose to take a tremendous risk. It is beyond comprehension. I see it all the time. My eyes do not lie to me. This rarely ever happens to me in the US. If I decide to cut you off on a highway, when you are going 120kph, and I am making a u-turn, and there was plenty of room behind you for me to make a safe turn, is that an error, if it results in a horrific, fatal accident, and I take the lives of you and your family? What if I waited four seconds for the highway lane to be completely clear, rather than just barge into it now, and risk everything? Sometimes an error is wearing white after Labor day in New York City. And sometimes an error is invading Russia before the oncoming winter. I don't make the kind of errors that result in bad accidents, much less fatalities. Why? Because I am very, very careful on the road, and very, very respectful of other drivers, their lives, and those of their families. That is a choice that results in NOT making very many terrible mistakes. It most certainly has something to do with the inability to visualize. Neither the future, nor the hypothetical. What will happen in this scenario? What about this? What about that? What are the inherent risks involved in piloting my bike, car or truck onto the safety lane of a major highway, in the wrong direction, with big trucks coming at me at 100kph? Or onto a lane of a major highway, with oncoming traffic going 120kph? Is it worth sacrificing my life, or my ability to walk for the rest of my life? How will my death affect my kids? Hold on, what about the lives of my wife, kids and sister who are in the vehicle with me, and I am responsible for their safety. Wow. That would be a big loss. An entire family. Maybe I should act like an adult, and be prudent and careful. I don't think many Thais ever ponder thoughts like this. Why, I can't imagine. It is likely something we will never understand about their nature. I often like to say the best way to understand these differences in attitude and intellect, is to realize Thailand is NOT a foreign country. It is a distant planet. -
$2000 for a toilet seat is fraud, whether it is approved or not.
-
Very true. And I don't expect the new goon, nor Musk, nor Trump to even make a concerted effort to uncover overspending or fraud. One needs to keep in mind that when it comes to the new defense secretary and Trump himself their level of moral bankruptcy is legendary. They will both bow down to the military industrial complex and their foul, lobbyist pigs.

Lawyer criticised for opposing equal marriage in Thailand

You are you. We all expected party line homophobia and intolerance from you. No surprises. You never surprise, with your utter predictability. -
Vance worked in an air conditioned office in Iraq for 6 months. Not exactly a heroic action. He is a clown.

Can you kindly explain the connection between waste and recycling, and foul air quality? -

It would beat the hell out of having only one parent. Or two bad parents. And perhaps it might help the kid to learn that the rabid and obnoxious opinions of others means less than zero? -
He is likely incapable, but might be less heinous and nearly anyone has more character and is less compromised than Don Don.

This is a very good point, he is very, very old for his age, and he does not even consider the possibility that food represents fuel for the body. Hamburgers are simply not efficient fuel, certainly not for someone who's 80 going on 90. There's a very good chance that he won't last the full term, there are many doctors that say there is a one in three chance of him dying during his term, due to his age. And we're not even taking into account his poor health, which I think is quite obvious. There is a reason why he kept his medical records secret. And if you consider the prospect of JD Vance as the leader of the free world, that should make a person with perception and intellect very, very afraid.

I think kids are far more concerned about loving and protective parents who love each other, and the child, rather than distinctions of sexuality. I think it's your own conservatism that's the issue here. Look within. Question your own beliefs and why they are intolerant, and so limited in scope. -

This incredibly ignorant man has no of what love is all about. Love does not know any boundaries and equal rights for gay and lesbian couples should be Universal. This clown is showing his astounding Ignorance by preaching anything other than a straight man and woman is against universal law. That's medieval garbage. -
Buying a new car.........you'd think it was easy
spidermike007 replied to Rampant Rabbit's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
It boggles the mind, I hear car sales are down you would expect that there would be some motivation to move a vehicle. One question for you, if you've driven the car around a bit what kind of mileage are you getting? That car is a consideration for me with our next car, but I can't seem to get any accurate information as to how much money I would save from the hybrid design. Do you have any idea how many kilometers per liter you're getting City and Highway? Thanks in advance. -
One wonders if this guy was having a psychotic episode or if he was just sick and tired of his son mouthing off. Regardless sounds like he has a significant amount of time to ponder his recklessness and bizarre behavior and perhaps his fellow inmates can help him figure things out. At the very minimum they will offer him some very close and warm company. I bet his son never saw that one coming.

Which means two things, not only is he morally bankrupt to the extreme, but he's also extremely incompetent. It's likely that he's competent enough to run a county or statewide Boy Scout chapter, but a government division with 3 million employees? This will go down in history as one of Trump's greatest mistakes, and one of his most reckless and highly partisan (totally blind) selections. Anytime the head of a department is selected based on fealty without any regard to merit it's a terrible thing for the nation. It almost reminds one of the selection process within Thai politics.

Once again you are oversimplifying the issue, what I was complaining about was international overreach by American authorities operating within Thailand and using their influence within Thailand to prosecute sex crimes of a very minor nature. I'm very much against underage sex, I'm very much against human and sex trafficking, but there are very minor crimes that when prosecuted by overzealous authorities can ruin a person's life. There is a huge distinction and Hegseth has done is way beyond anything I'm describing. He would be serving 10 years or more, if anyone bothered to pursue him. And the only reason why he was approved was due to fear of the wrath of the new king. He was spectacularly unqualified. Very typical of a Trump selection. Sometimes it almost seems like he goes out of his way to find somebody who is as morally bankrupt as he is.

It is sickening, it is pathetic, it is emblematic of tremendous levels of sloth and indifference and incompetence. They literally just don't care one iota and the only reason why the hapless PM is even talking about this it's because so many people are complaining about the air. It is so horrendous. If the Chinese were able to clean up their air certainly Thailand could it, if they wanted to, if it meant enough, if it was a priority, if they had compassion, decency, pride, and empathy for the people, and cared about the environment one iota. They don't. Sloths don't have pride. -

A while back they had a campaign and they had posters with phone numbers that you could call to report vehicles that were polluting. We were driving and we saw this truck that was pumping out huge black clouds of smoke and I copied down their license plate and I dialed the number, and handed my phone to my Thai woman and asked her speak to the department. She asked the person who answered the phone what can they do? He ask her why are you calling us and she said, well you have phone numbers posted to report polluting vehicles? The guy said well I don't know anything about that, nor who I would report it to, and she said well that's not really our issue is it? You're supposed to be monitoring polluting vehicles. He said OK, give me the license plate number and I'll see what I can do. My wife said are you going to do anything? He said, I don't know I need to look at the regulations first and see who I'm supposed to report it to, and then maybe somebody will do something. The smoke will die down when the dinosaurs are replaced with young and progressive leaders, who care about the health, welfare and well being of the nation, and the environment. The current crop do not have any initiative, nor any ideas. Dinosaurs are cursed with small brains. -

Well did you ask her enough questions, did you qualify her sufficiently, and if so what were your expectations? Do you want a Nobel Peace Prize, do you want to be given sainthood? I mean we all make an effort to help people, some of it is of use to people and some of it goes right out the window. It's just the nature of life I would question why you are so frustrated? Water off a ducks back, baby.
