Just applied for my "o" extention of stay with my husband. Second year. Can I go by myself to pick up the completed visa ( Stamp in my passport)? Or must Hubby come along?
Kindly,
HH

Most charters coming through Krabi seem to originate in Phuket. Sunsail in Phuket- going between Pkt - Langkawaii. We see them pass through every day or so.

I know a few people who run their own (group) charters on Sail boats - But they have no web sites or contact info- a popular place to hook up with one would be Railay beach on Railay or Long beach, Ko Lanta.
Good Luck!

Dony worry Bina-

I only know of places on Ko Lanta that have wireless- but not krabi town, sorry. Good luck. HH

You proabably want the Andaman Sea Pilot. Not sure where in Bangkok to buy, But here in the south it's avalable in many "toursit" areas.

Good luck Rich- Mine was un-repairable TWICE and had to be replaced TWICE. I hope yours is fixable. Thanks for your post - It reminded me to extend my warranty!!!
-
Another thing:
If your warranty is expired you are SOL. sorry
I cant recommend enough extending with Apple Care- I keep all my apple products up to date- My Ipod has overheated allot here ….
By the way….. I found out Apple care dose not cover tsunami's.

Ive used Apple center in Phuket and the one in KL. Both serviced ( replaced) my ipod free of charge. Good service but it took a while. Go to apple website click on service and add your Ipods serial number to see how many days left on your warranty.

Nokia 6310i mobile cell phone bluetooth Unlocked
Im seeing these on line for 3-4000 bhat ( Ebay) USA.
Anybody know the price of this phone or similar units NEW and USED in Bangkok?
Is it dodgey to buy a used one here?
Thanks!

Thanks - yes I have bluetooth built in. so I will just go phone shopping. This is great! So ive read that I don’t need to worry about unlocking the phone anymore- that’s good. Any recommendation on a good phone up to 7000 baht to pick up while in Bangkok next week? I'm using Mac mail for my eMail. Which phone carrier/service works best with GSRP. Thanks HH

Newbie here- I too, am looking for a bluetooth phone to go with my Mac. Where can I buy an unblocked phone?
Do I need a D-Link DBT-120 USB Bluetooth Adapter or is the phone all i need?
Thanks!

Maybe try the Krabi City Seaview hotel? It's a good place to stay and they have watchmen.

When we got married here in LOS. I was able to use a PDF that was Emailed to me from the U.S. court. printed it, had it translated- no questions asked.

In high season, we run an Island Tours business and have a gallery for Arts/Batik
Low seasons it's fishing and making art/handicrafts here and Indonesia.

I took a year "off" and went traveling around the world painting. I arrived in the LOS and decided to take a break from all the “moving - about". I agreed to a volunteer teaching job in a very small fishing village on an island near Krabi. After a month of working there, all the other English-speaking teachers left. I stayed on. In-exchange for teaching I had the use of a beautiful wooden pole house over the sea. Weeks went by, and I was getting a bit lonely; no one to talk to and I had no transport. Then one day a Thai woman knocked on my door and spoke ENGLISH! We became friends instantly. Months passed, and we hung out a lot. One day, I told her jokingly, that I would like to meet a man with boat. A few days later a handsome Thai man came over cooked us kilo's of crab, fish and Shrimp. Initially, I was not a bit interested, I assumed he was 15 years+ my junior, but in reality we are only a few years difference. Anyway...a few more weeks passed and we ran into each other again. I then suggested a date. So the 3 of us sat on my deck, under the stars translating our first date. After a few hours "our translator" fell as sleep, and we stayed-up all night
. That night was 4 and 1/2 year ago. After the Tsunami... losing so much and escaping unscathed by mere minutes on our boat we decided to get married. We were married Valentine's Day 2006. The entire fishing village attended. Today we work together and still live in our little town and we have learned to communicate on are own.

Hi Barry of Thailand!
Can you elaborate on the Home study?
I believe from reading your posts that you are an American yes? As am I. My husband is Thai. We reside in LOS. What other clearance things did you need to do?
Thanks SO Much!

Silly me, 3 years ago my balance (at SCB) was slightly over 10K for about 1 week. When I purchased a Toyota (it's registerd in my name). So now what? I never reported it to the IRS. I file and pay taxes every year. At that time, i was using a Tax person whom didnt even ask me about this, Last year I did Turbo Tax and saw this question. So .. anyway.. it's so far so good. But, should I file this paper next year, to be safe or am I just being paranoid? Any thoughts you guys?
Thanks HH

Picking Up My O Visa/with My Thai Spouse
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
Thanks- I picked it up , solo. But the visa officer- the low one of the group- asked me repeatedly that my husband had to stop in or call before the 31st. The actual date my visa was to expire?
We live very far away on an island and hubby was working that day. The said officer was yelling this to me ( In Thai) across the room, which was very strange, I found? Anyway i'm in for another year, but not sure if we BOTH have to make another trip back to Immigration?
My girlfriend whom was with me said she thought he was just trying to throw a little power/authority around. Anybody heard of this? PS. Yes, We have tried to call but since the new visa rule- they never answer the phone.
* Another note- this was the first time I had to have an interview with the Captain of the office. He was very kind, just wanted see who I was.
