the los angelas consulate took at least 2 weeks 10 working days, makes it difficult to plane how long to buy a plane ticket, really almost need to pland 6-8 weeks in advance, in case the paperwork isn't satisfactory IMO at the airport, they asked questions about my long stay being longer than my visa, I had to explain about extensions, of which I'm guessing they know little about, which wasn't really nice to be questioned on. Is it true that this is a glitch in the system(and it is not fixed?)? , I answered every question, used the photo of statement I signed saying "this doesn't apply", which is kind of ridiculous, that it gets to this guessing game , can't wait for medical insurance to be added, I happen to buy my own via geoblue anyway, but really too many hoops for a TR

What big feet you have. -
I read that it legal on private property, but I presume many serviced apartments, may not like that, and large parks like benjakitti are probably a no go, and inside a smoke shop isn't ideal either, where are people then lighting up? asking for a friend

try the one at national stadium and report back? benjasiri, was a short pool iirc, and required various documents

https://thaipan-org.translate.goog/action/1107?_x_tr_sl=th&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en-US&_x_tr_pto=wapp "Thai Pan reveals fruit and vegetable test results reveal 41% of pesticide residues exceeded standards. Department store vegetables are worse than fresh market vegetables." My idea would be to buy the types of food that usually require less, elsewhere the clean 15 vs the dirty dozen, don't know if that applies though in LOS, otherwise just only buy UK frozen Waitrose from TOPS?

actually I'll be looking for 500mg, maybe I can break the 1000mg in half? ymmv but per Eric Topol it may have some anti-long covid efficacy, so, I will seek a 2 week supply , not sure if it matters if its controlled release or brand name?

Thai e visa impossible
chubby replied to supersomchai's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
april 2023: mine took 10 business days, via the Royal Thai Los Angelas Consulate, if it helps anyone, I can let you know how I answered the dubious questions, if needed (forum or PM) -
Thai e visa impossible
chubby replied to supersomchai's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
another reason to not seek O-A s anymore from outside the country I guess, along with the medical requirement. is it even establishment that all questions for the e-visa, are required for all visas? I didn't do a trial of the difference between a 60 TR and an O-A on the e-visa site , for example. presumably if one chooses a different Visa type they get more questions, maybe all the same as TR but extras, like the "5 diseases" and criminal backgroun? some were saying, that they are not ? -
hmm, If I ever get my e-visa its to be a 60 TR , then I guess the USEMB things is $55 or so? so maybe I won't be eligible to try to renew the 5 years DL? fwiw I don't recall getting a 1 yr provisional, maybe for showing my US Car and Motorcycle licenses?
-
what is the earliest one can renew mine expires in Dec 2023, but I will be in BKK next month thru July. What paperwork do I need for the renewal? I got it originally at the Bang Chak Land offices ,

Possibility to use Tourist eVisa?
chubby replied to trax33's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
presumably you could get your evisa at home, then say fly to Laos from your home country and cross with the evisa overland? but then the supporting documents include a question wanting your flight confirmation, seems like including one to Laos, might not produce an evisa. --------- btw, is there a general guesstimate, on how many days for a USA consulate to issue a visa, presuming no request for further documents? I saw one person on here got theirs in 11 business days, I submitted April 3, and have a non refundable ticket to fly April 30 , I guess by week 3 I'll start getting nervous and have to consider just flying without a visa, for a 30 day stamp, only ? Rather than extending the departure day with some expensive change fees, ($400?+) Then if the evisa is issued, and there is no consensus , that I can use it, do a 30 day extension , and attempt to change the air ticket return day, and my housing for 60 instead of my planned 85 day long stay ???? -
Paxlovid / Covid treatments in BKK if needed
chubby replied to chubby's topic in Health and Medicine
Sheryl, Do you have an opinion on the use of Full Vax'd and Booster Bivalent last Fall, 55 year old, with none of the chronic pre-existings , if test CV+ with home test, seeking molnupiravir while on a long-stay ? Think I read another post of yours, about these meds more being for preventing severe disease in the higher -risk populations, though Paxlovid now is advised for > 50 years old being a 'condition' , per my sources I ask about PCR because I've friends who tested CV- multiple times, and had symptoms, so got a PCR which was CV+, only later having a rapid test be CV+ best -
Hello, in May I have a long haul flight back to BKK, and am planning on buying a good GeoBlue trip insurance. I'm curious if anyone at all has been able to obtain Paxlovid, or if it is even available at all in Thailand? for someone, staying in the Sukhumwit area, I'm told Bumrumgrad is OK in an emergency, but not a 1st choice for PCR testing and/or possibly being admitted for Covid symptoms, Any opinions on the above please?

what did you do for the "declaration statement" and "e-signature" Did you send a photo of a drivers license for the Which consulate did you use ? if 14 days means only business days, might get a little too close to my depature end of the Month ????
-
so, I am applying for a 60day TR visa , there are other items as well, eg the Declaration Letter, can I just print it out , sign it take a photo with it signed , and attach it to the application, OR is it even needed for a TR60 https://www.thaievisa.go.th/tourist-visa doesn't mention any of the 'additional documents' , so are they or *aren't they necessary. I am applying to the LA Consulate in California. The "manual" just is about how to use the overall site, nothing about what 'addtional docs' may or may not be required, very strange. As I understand it, this is the only way to apply for a TR60 visa from the US now ? PS: what is the difference between 8 . A copy of flight confirmation/reservation (The name of the applicant must be indicated clearly) and 4 . Travel booking confirmation and 5 . Proof of accommodation in Thailand, e.g. Accommodation bookings, invitation letters from family/friends in Thailand there is no way to enter any NOTE like "not applicable" , so can I just not submit anything? 9 . Applicant is required to upload his/her passport pages which contain all travel records for the past 12 months (1 year) since the last international trip. sigh
-
my apartment is saying, things have tightened up on the need for a 'accomodation letter' , she mentioned the recent Chinese incident , and I guess others . And requires deposit and payment in full for the stay for a letter. So, kind of nicks any ability to move around, wonder how other tourist handle this if they are doing various locations on holiday, since presumably they'd just have the 1st few days arranged, maybe at some hostel? They also want bank transfer, rather than my previous visits when I paid with credit card, which I think provides some backup for fraud, etc . Do I need a copy of the TM-30 when doing the 30d extension @CW , don't think I had one with my in the past, maybe that is another new twist, from pre-covid?
