There was a Costco in Bangkok. I think it was out Rama 2 way, too far away for me and a bad location in my opinion. I think it was operated by Tops ( the Central group) but closed down after being open for a short time possibly for a lack of people desiring to buy in bulk. I don’t know what kind of account you have but in my case my SS gets deposited into my direct deposit account set up for that purpose. I have to go each month to withdraw from the direct deposit account and put the funds in another account. My direct deposit account cannot be accessed online and has no atm card. They want to see my face and passport every month. I assume it is an anti fraud procedure.

Make sure you send them a bank draft not a cashiers check. Painless when I did mine. Took about two weeks for the new passport to arrive.

I live three hundred meters from Khlong Song. I have my opinions about climate change and sea level rising but that is neither here nor there. Here is my personal experience. This is the area where my front porch meets the brickwork that extends to the ground. I patched this and painted in January 2024 and this is what it looks like today. I believe the house is stable otherwise I would be seeing fractures appearing in the walls. This has been happening every year since the house was built thirteen years ago and happens just before the rains start. My guess is the whole area is subsiding due to the pumping out of ground water
