  1. I have never had mail or a package go missing here in 35+ years. Are you sure you are racist enough?
  2. Bangkok bank interest rates for today. According to BBL's Executive VP, Suvarn Thansathit, the interest rates on deposits have been raised by 0.05-0.25%. The interest rate for savings deposits is now 0.60% per annum, while interest for 3-month fixed deposits is 0.95% per annum. Fixed deposits for 6 months now earn 1.05% per annum. For fixed deposits of 12 months, the interest rate is 1.35% per annum. Fixed deposits for 24 months earn 1.75% per annum, and fixed deposits for 36 months yield 1.90% per annum. As for e-Savings deposits, the interest rate is 1.50% per annum for a maximum limit of 1 million baht, and for amounts exceeding 1 million baht, the interest rate is 0.60% per annum. Now please leave.
  3. I get very little from your posts other than anger. In reality your rants are hard to read. Run on sentences, major grammatical and spelling errors as well. You even spell Patriot wrong. Don't you see red squiggly lines throughout your posts as you are composing them?
  4. Ao Nang does have dreadful food, but Krabi town is for Thai's and is delicious. Chinese, Muslim and Thai are all good. Mate I was first in Krabi in 1999, only Ao Nang long enough to get a longtail to Raillay which at the time was heaven. Now gone to sh#t. By the way you mentioned Chiang Rai to Petchabun. Just back from Petchabun, Khao Kor, I think you would find Khao Kor to Chiang Khan, to Loei a much better trip. Many more back roads and alternate ways to go. Lots of accommodation as well.
  5. Krabi town is quite a lovely southern Thai town. Completely clean as the streets are swept each morning. Great Chinese coffee and tea shops to wonder around in the morning. It also has just a beautiful river walk you can jog as well. A lovely estuary you can travel by boat which is inexpensive and fun. Plus its just an hours drive to Thailand's best hot springs along with an incredible crystal blue pools for swimming. Ao Nang is the dump of the island. Have you really spent any time there? It was one of my most pleasant surprises in Thailand.
  6. Do you realize the only Thai word in an English dictionary is BONG? Thai's have smoked weed for hundreds of years. The farung market for it is much smaller than the Thai.
  7. Never heard that before and my wife drove an LPG powered car for 8 years. Nary a warning one. Most of her friends and a lot of people in our village converted as well. Never once heard that, going back nearly 20 years now.
  8. Not to sure about this as one of your first threads was how you took a "girl" to Koh Chang and were shocked she expected to get paid. Not only that but for you were genuinely surprised at the predicament you had gotten yourself in. By the way, when did "Mrs" Smith come along?
  9. You have started 3 separate threads on the same topic. You sure you are fine?????
  10. Just so its know the field in Bang Bua Thong is only for RC planes, it it not used for anything else. Some of the best remote control planes, cars, and boat shops are located next to it as well. Its as well known as the bigger one located on RTAF property in Don Muang. That one is near my house, and I used to take my kids to see the boats and planes. These are dedicated places the RC enthusiasts go to. Others like myself and kids simply go to watch. Just what she did but she chose not to watch or be aware of what was going on as evidenced by the fast she was playing games on her phone.
  11. One picture of Bangkok Immigration Remand should answer all your questions..
  12. As a boomer who had to use maps before Google I am a bit surprised. My wife and I are planning a road trip in our car. I simply look at about where we want to stop and then I have a name, with this name I can google up a place to stay. Put up your route please.
  13. I clearly see your point, but I believe he has been working and does hold a WP, He has this thread up.
  14. The OP is not on a retirement visa. He is working in I believe Chonburi province and has young daughters in primary school there. He has a thread running on their schooling as well.
  15. Not at all. No hotel rates will go up they are waiting for customers, just checked all airfares and none have gone up, mostly down. The government promotes these holidays for consumer spending thats why we now have a 6 day weekend. Also remember its the middle of the low season.
  16. With her years of experience and expertise it would seem she could easily start over. They are not going to be looking for spring chickens in this senior position.
  17. ^ Can you be more specific as I for one think the "comeback" is doing rather well. Hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions, which do you think are suffering the most and in what areas of Thailand.
  18. 139B a month now and nary a problem one for 4 years. I will stick with it.
  19. Damn, here its going up 10B a month. May have to rethink my music. ????
  20. Be easier to get if you use the Thai name Nam Tahu. ???? Works for me a couple times a month when I get a craving for patangko.
  21. Many sellers of the Thai breakfast donut "Patangko" also make Nam Tahu or soy milk, you can have it with the beans or without. Every 7/11 and supermarket also sell it. Seems a strange question if you have lived here for any length of time.
