  1. Delta does not run the show, they simply code share as they dont come into BKK, United does the same.
  2. I dont know about an app, but if the website on the far right at the top it is languages. Click and English among others will drop down to click. เปลี่ยนภาษา .....Just to the right of sign up.
  3. Same thing is happening to me right now. I received this email. Warm Greeting from Lazada! Your refund is now issued and under your Lazada wallet. In case you cannot activate your wallet, kindly provide your Thai bank account and your passport, we will help to withdraw the refund into your bank account. Please note: you may provide any identification cards that shows your photo and your name i.e. driving license / passport / ID card/ student card. You can cover the number on the card as we need to see only your photo and your name.
  4. I am not going to get into a pissing match with you. My daughter was told by the IO on entry, " Bring your old Thai passport to exit or you will be denied". Makes sense to me and she did that and easily left. Perhaps try to help the OP instead of trying to pick holes in posts I hope are helpful.
  5. When Immigration typed in her passport number or scanned it, it came back as new with no entries or exits. My daughters had many many journeys to and from Thailand. Very different situation indeed.
  6. Stop it Croc, her new Thai passport had no entry stamp in it. This is the problem. My daughter was able to leave on her new passport because she had the entry stamp from 18 days ago in her old passport. It has nothing to do with Thai inefficiency at all. If you enter on a British passport you must leave on that one.
  7. No they could not. You must enter and exit country on the same Nationality of passport. Sadly she made the mistake after a long flight of entering on her UK passport. She overstayed and was fined. Not a good result but the only outcome possible. Like I said in the case of my daughter, she was questioned by the IO and advised by her to enter on her American passport because her expired passport could not be used to leave, nor could her American with no entry stamp. Trying to help her in case she was not able to renew her Thai passport. She chose to enter on the expired passport and did get the new one for departure. She was able to show the old one with the entry stamp on departure. I might add that this same daughter once came home from university for 3 weeks at Christmas and was tired from the long flight and entered on her US passport and got the visa waiver. If she had done the same thing in the summer she would have been on a 2 month overstay as she stayed 3 months. For sure maybe on the advice of the IO she entered on her UK passport.
  8. I have posted this before but on another thread. My daughter returned to Thailand from California on Sept 5. Both her Thai passport and ID were expired, and she was carrying her US passport. Just to avoid a possible situation like this we asked her to enter on her expired Thai passport. When attempting to do this she was warned she could not leave Thailand at all without a new passport as her US passport would not have a stamp. She entered on the expired Thai and that Friday we got both the passport and ID renewed. On the following Tuesday her new Thai passport arrived via EMS. So on departure she showed entry on the old Thai passport and then exit on her new one. I have no idea what happened to your daughter but it does not seem the same procedure as I outlined here was used, as this way there was absolutely no problem. Looking forward to seeing how your daughters tale of woe turns out.
  9. Just go directly to BKK insurance. I have been with them 30 years. Have been rear-ended twice and the claims adjuster was there in less than half and hour and both times spoke great English. Today I just claimed for damage to my under engine splash guard from flood damage. Claim accepted in 5 minutes. They simply are the best.
  10. Well from my research looking for a replacement I came across this. What is engine splash shield? The engine splash shield, also known as the skid plate, lower engine cover, or engine splash guard, is a panel located underneath your vehicle's engine to protect it from debris on the road.
  11. Mine is still there but torn up. I have it wired to the frame of the car to keep it from falling off or dragging on the road. Wednesday next week I put it in the shop. Wont drive much till then and for sure wont drive in the rain.
  12. Same thing happened to me so I am ordering a new one off of Lazada. 700 to 1500 baht depending on the make. Will take that and have my repair guy put it on. He is booked up for a couple of weeks due to flood damage. Car is a 7 year old Vios.
  13. She will have no problems just coming in. My daughter just came in on an expired Thai passport and Thai ID. It was a Friday two weeks ago. We went from the airport to the amphur office and got a new Thai ID in 1 hour. Then to the passport office on Changwattana for a new passport. 1 hour there and the passport came via EMS on the following Tuesday.
  14. Done that with the wife and kids. But any liquor is frowned upon now. Had some Scotch and water in a "tea" bottle. Not the same at all as having beer or whiskey along with great Thai drinking food. Yam Wu Sen, Fried died beef, plates of cashews and the such. 30 years ago I worked near Hualumphong and we had bought a house way out in Laksi. No worries I would jump on the 6:45pm train for Pitsunolak get to my seat in the dining car and the chef would have a cold beer right there. As I said the good old days.
  15. The good old days. But a number of years ago a 13 year old girl was raped on a overnight train. The culprit turned out to work for the railways. Goodbye bar car, and now even the restaurant car is gone. Only bad food ordered and delivered in styrofoam. Such a pity as it was good food and in general good company.
  16. You are doing some serious trolling here. Our nice house in the Bangkok suburbs is about 1/3 of the cost of the same house back in the states where I come from. Yes it is in my wife's name but we have been together 33 years so I feel reasonably cool with that. In addition look at what you post with reference to expats in Isaan or Chiang Mai being delusional. You seem to be the one who is delusional. What caused this bitterness?
  17. I dont think she will need one. The new Thai drivers license is accepted in America for sure as I have used it many times. If not go to the drivers license place of your choice and apply. I know for sure its available at the main one near Jatujak Park. 505 baht and one day service.
  18. To even come up with that scenario and post it boggles my mind.
  19. My AIA policy covers endoscopy because you have to be sedated. Once that wristband goes on you are covered. My last checkup I arrived at BKK hospital at 8am and was on my way home at 10:30am.
  20. Sudarat is always on the lookout for money. Thought she could pull off a new party, yet in the governor elections for BKK she and the party were wiped out, getting only one seat and their governor candidate getting wiped out. She has always been closely tied to Karun "Gang" Hosakul the most corrupt MP in Thailand. Glad to see her fading away.
  21. Nice off topic rant. There is plenty of weed out there at a fair price, both Thai and the exotic strains. Stop complaining and start searching..????
  22. Wow, with your style I would bet your name is Romeo.
  23. Don't post if you dont know. 30+ years here and for all that time we have used filtered water and nary a problem one. I dont know one Thai house in our village that buys bottled water. Don' forget to brush your teeth with your bottled water. ????
  24. I think, and do mean think it would cost a lot more than that. You cant get any decent labor done anymore at that price. Its going to be backbreaking and you need somebody who knows what they are doing or you are going to end up with a shattered mess. I do admire your initiative and hope you can get it done. I do know that 22 years ago I paid a crew more than that to get a 500 kilo handmade desk up just 2 flights of stairs.
  25. ??? What are you mislead by? He/she paid for the car in full before driving it away.
