Reviewer: A reader from New York, NY

I love Tina Turner's music and I love her as a person now that I know the story behind her incredible life and career. I wish I had found this sooner. I was also surprised to find out she is a practicing Buddhist. Very cool! No wonder she seems like such a centered human being in all of her interviews. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of Tina Turner. Since learning more about Tina's spirituality, I also highly recommend a book by Taro Gold called "Open Your Mind, Open Your Life" which contains many inspirational thoughts based on the Buddhism Tina metions in her autobiography.

Was this review helpful to you? :o

  2. These will be in my GF...soon to be wife's name. Any suggestions welcome.

Are you kidding? Go see a lawyer before you do anything, he can at least set up the deal so that you'll be able to walk away with more than your tail between your legs in two years time.

Or pick a random person off the street and give them the money you intend to invest.

  3. Dog rescued from ‘rapist’

KAMALA: Animal lovers have rescued a small dog from a European man in his late

40s, who raped the animal repeatedly over a period of about a year. The dog was rescued by a Thai woman after she was told by neighbors of the man (who for legal reasons cannot be named at this time) that they had heard the dog

    screaming many times.

The rescuer, K. Gaew (who asked that her full name be withheld for fear of reprisal), told the Gazette, “People are supposed to be civilized in what they do and think. This man behaved like an animal.”

A veterinarian who examined the animal after the rescue confirmed that she had

been raped repeatedly, and that considerable damage had been done to her

    internal organs.

    K. Gaew handed the animal over to Margot Homburg Park of the Soi Dogs

Foundation, who described the animal as “a very sweet dog” that liked people. She renamed her Anwaan (the abuser apparently referred to the dog as “The Rat”).

Local police declined to pursue the matter, saying that there was not enough

evidence to convict on a charge of cruelty to an animal, which is in any case a

petty offense that carries a maximum penalty of one month in jail or a 1,000-baht fine, or both. Under Thai law bestiality as such is not an offense. Anwaan has now been placed with a loving family and is recovering well, Ms Park said.

  4. 3) No tattoos: It is a mark of a loose woman. Especially ones like “keep of the grass” and “No entry” on the top of their arse. Or “George” on their shoulder.

My Mum has a tattoo on her arse that says No Entry! :o

Just messin, my mum only has a spiders web on her elbow.

Actually it bought to mind a girl I knew in Hat Yai who had one of those scrolls across a heart tattooed on her arm, normaly used for writing the name of a loved one, only she had her scroll left blank and gave her short time guy a pen to write his name in for the duration, very smart. :D

  5. I agree with all of the above posts, we all do our own bit and contribute in our own ways in our daily lives, no need to tell you that I rescued 12 buffaloes from the 15th floor of a burning condotel, thats not what Thaivisa is about.

Thaivisa is many things to many people, a most useful resource and for me a handy kick-the-cat facility that I like to use to let off steam after a hard day's taking shiit from tuk tuk drivers, petty beaurocrats, bent coppers, et al, allowing me to get up the next day in search of sick motorbikes to heal.

  6. Well there's the Green Man of course

    Great food and cheap.

I agree with 50% of that quote! The food is fantastic, Sandeep does a killer curry - but it isn't cheap. :D
Japanese Restaurant in Big C - cant remember the name

Zen, agreed, food to die for, they have opened up another branch on Beach road in Patong, yet to go there.

Ta be Ta - Sushi bar on Rat U Thit Road - near Christin Massage, excellent tuna

Christin Massage - near Ta be Ta, excellent tuna :o

Funniest restaurant name: Chow King - noodle restaurant chain in Phillipines, the one I went to was next door to the Wee Win Money changers.

  8. I used to do some dj ing in the Uk under the moniker Fat Harry White's Funk boat of love (fishing for girls in the river of love) - stolen from Mark n lard's radio character pissstake of Barry White, the fishing part came from steve coogan's lounge singer.

Fat harry has always been my computer name, until I got banned for calling a forum sponsor a big gay bruiser, for my penance I was allowed back fatter than.
