After 4 months wearing a mask outdoors in Pattaya, I won't be back until the mask mandate is dropped. I've never seen it reported at Airports, mainly land borders where they've ducked over for an hour to stay indefinitely in Thailand without a proper visa

Always visa exemption, normally fly one-way to give flexibility, never asked to show ongoing ticket or 20,000 Baht so maybe I just dress better than Jacko who insists you must have both

Here's a tip, pay for the deck chair which is normally 50 baht for the entire day. Then order your coconut for 40 baht and take as long as you like to drink it. Saves you 10 baht and no self imposed stress caused by making your own deal that only you understand

Well border runs have often been iffy and more to do with living in Thailand for years without having a proper visa, so 20,000 baht could be used to prevent entry. To me that's all this is, a reason to refuse entry to the people that are not real tourists (and likely looking like a homeless person with thongs and 20 year old singlet) The OP is a tourist so should be fine like all the rest of us that have never been asked to show cash

Says who, have you ever been denied showing a bank app or bank statement? The immigration law says "must possess adequate cash of or equivalent to 20,000 Baht per person" Having a Thai bank account with more than 20,000 baht in it is possessing the equivalent of 20,000 baht cash. I'd like to hear from one person that has been denied entry when showing a Thai bank account of 20,000 baht + There won't be any

I usually take A$1000 purely because it's nice to have to exchange if needed, but never been asked in 14 years coming to Thailand. If asked I would show my Krungsi Bank app which shows current balance of baht in Thailand (so download your Bangkok Bank app)

So you broke the deal of being able to sit and drink your coconut as you stayed after finishing it, and then got <deleted> at them for waking you up after 45 minutes sleeping...maybe you would have stayed for 2 hours sleeping if they didn't wake you up... This whole thread is stupid. If you are banned from entering Thailand for 'x' years then don't cone back until 'x' years pass. Anything else is speculation on how to break the law to re-enter

I guess you don't travel much as they've been scanning fingerprints on entry and exit for at least the last 4 years. Also photographs on entry for last 7 years at least, so pic and fingerprints should nail the OP you'd think
