  1. Pre-covid, with 40 million tourists I could go to immigration and have a TM30 or visa exempt extension done in 15 minutes. Now, it's 3-4 hours of lining up and coming back the next day to pick up passport. All with less than a million tourists....why shouldn't IO's be <deleted> off with the process now?
  2. I want to see more of your beautiful country and I want to learn more about your wonderful Thai culture and language (throw in some Thai showing you are learning their language)
  3. You're on a 60 day tourist visa, immigration ask what are you doing here, oh I live here with my girlfriend in my rented condo... Not hard to see why your answer does not match your visa and so would likely be questioned in any country?
  4. There used to be a limit on coming and going to Thailand but that was stopped about 5 years ago. If you have an approved tourist visa why would you not be eligible to enter? That would defeat the whole purpose of Thai embassies reviewing and approving visa applications
  5. In 14 years of coming to Thailand I have not been asked a single question by Thai immigration on arrival. Why would they ask you anything? If they did though, you will be on a tourist visa so tell them I'm here for a wonderful holiday in Thailand, isn't that what a tourist visa is for?
  6. It's been said many times, hardly any bars are asking to see ATK. I've seen 2 in almost 2 months I've been here, which I just avoided
  7. There's a cannabis shop just after the entrance of Walking street as well. I didn't go in as didn't think it was legal yet but it looked real?
  8. Jomtien I understood from other posts on here that the first covid extension is from the date you apply, not from the current expiry for entry (while 2nd covid extension would be from expiry date)
  9. Because the IO told me come back 31 March and get another 30 days. When I said I only got 28 days this time (3 Mar to 31 Mar) she said "no, you get 30 days now and 30 days when you come back"
  10. Well that hardly seemed worth the effort. Applied yesterday and was stamped under consideration until 31 March, so only 28 days. As my extension expiry was 14 March, that means I only extended for 17 days. I know I could have come in on 13 or even 14 March but personally I wouldn't handle the anxiety of not getting it. As it turns out, I have to now go back 31 March to get another 30 days, so same issue of applying on the day of expiry.
  11. So why has every country gone lower today against the Thai baht? (except the Ruble which stays N/A)
  12. I've thought it's been reasonably busy every night but your post made me look closer. You appear correct as LK bars are full of ladies with maybe half as many blokes in the bar ...umm, is that a bad thing ???? I know I was Pa Pa pre-covid, now I'm "Law" and happy to hear "Welcome" without the Pa Pa added ????
  13. Saw many Russians and Ukranians at immigration today getting their extensions (passports gave them away)...so they still have 1900 baht...
  14. Does this pretty much sum up Thailand...3 very different positions within 48 hours
  15. I arrived visa exempt and did the 30 day extension which expires 14 March. Did the 60 day covid extension today in Jomtien (so 12 days left before expiry). The only thing the IO did was circle my copy of the visa exempt entry and 30 day extension stamps. Just ticked all other pages without even reading them. I was worried about the affadavit as I ticked box 1 thinking that was due to ongoing covid. When I actually read it, it says "your country will not let you enter due to ongoing covid". That's obviously not true so ticked box 2 about embassy won't issue letter, but why would they if box 1 is not true? Anyway my affadavit had a cross on box 1 and tick in box 2 and IO didn't care (or notice)
  16. Live update: arrived 08:15, line of 4 queues already full so went and got some breakfast. Back at 09:20 and 2 queues, which took 50 minutes to get to front desk. Asked for covid extension and she gave me the forms but wouldn't give me a queue number until forms completed. I snuck onto a corner and completed forms, hoping they weren't going to kick me out to line up again Got number #80 at 10:20 and told to wait outside as they are up to #36...this could be a really long day if not inside before 11:30 lunch Does anyone know how I could have got the forms without lining up for nearly an hour?
  17. Premium didn't go down when cover reduced from $100k to $50k and now the same when goes down to $20k...covid Insurance, the #1 scam in Thailand
  18. Why do we have to believe what some random people on Facebook says just because you quoted them. Isn't this forum for actual members to give their experience and people in other threads have already said they did a visa run no problem This is ridiculous, if you're from a country eligible for visa exempt, you will get a visa exempt entry (unless a dodgy visa agent screwed you on your covid extension by triggering a red flag)
  19. Well seeing as 1 Ruble is worth about 1 cent they probably should re-think it to make it meaningful ????
  20. I'm thinking the Russian super rich already have the bulk of their money in USD so they'll likely make a huge profit when they buy back into the Ruble I know I wouldn't mind buying a stack of Ruble when it hits 0.200 to the baht ????
  21. Wondering why mine says 162 while yours is 140? Good thing we all have to wear masks anyway so what does it matter?
  22. I just watched it fall off a cliff on XE in a matter of minutes since you wrote the above
  23. Many workers today at the old Re-tox Game-on site. Huge "Hemmingways Sports Bar" sign there now
