  1. Day 2 of the extension process to "pick up my passport at 10am" I turned up at 0930, no queue at 90 day tent, in and out with passport in 15 seconds. Note: The queue at the entrance door was 3 rows of the zig zag line at 0930
  2. You can do visa exempt 30 days (with one-time option to extend another 30 days) and then apply for non-imm O for 90 days which needs 800k in Thai bank. Once 800k is in bank for 2 months you can apply for 12 month extension based on retirement. What I don't know is how people apply for a bank account now. I have one from years ago which was based on showing my Condo Chanote. I went in to my bank to open another account to deposit and leave the 800k in and they said can't do without showing a long term visa. So you need a bank account to get a long term visa but you need a long term visa to get a bank account. Endless loop?
  3. That doesn't make sense. My last day is Sat 12th and I got my extension today so 4 days before expiry. As they kept my passport I'm glad I didn't go on Friday as I wouldn't have been able to pick up passport until Monday, 2 days after my expiry
  4. I arrived 09:30 this morning for a 30 day extension, no queue for entry and given #66 while #35 was just called. Had to wait outside for an hour until #61 to 70 were allowed to go inside. 15 minutes inside until my turn. They kept my passport and said come back tomorrow at 10 am to pick up from front "90 day" tent....hope I don't lose that tiny docket I'll try the desk 8 thing mentioned above as there were long queues at the 90 day tent the whole time I was there
  5. Went to immigration this morning to get 30 day extension to visa exempt entry. Arrived at 09:30, no queue for entry. Given form and number and asked to sit outside where I waited for an hour before being called inside. I waited another 15 minutes inside before my turn. They then took my money and passport and said come back at 10 am tomorrow to pick it up... Note: entrance queue started to form around 10am, but only one row of the zig zag line
  6. Could you not be bothered to read 10 posts down on this very page?
  7. Well it was news to me, not all of us have been here in the last 2 years and I didn't see anyone else mention it As KFC opening is plastered all over 3rd road I'm thinking news for Pattaya also. They also look much better than all the beer bar complexes closed down that people were crying about, so news is Pattaya is looking better Maybe 1 month before they all open ????
  8. Sounds like you arrived on a 30 day visa exempt entry (rather than visa on arrival) which means you should be able to get another 60 day covid extension before 25th March
  9. I see there's a new area in town being completed. Xzyte Square off 3rd road where the old Xzyte disco used to be. Most of the buildings have bar or restaurant signs but are still being completed. KFC, a japanese buffet restaurant and Sky Music bar are all up and running,
  10. I-Rovers and Metro Bar on LK both show the Rugby with commentary. They are only 20 metres apart so I normally check out both to see which has the better atmosphere btw, doubt you be able to see the 2nd Saturday games anywhere as they start just after the drinks curfew at 11pm
  11. Yes I have as the only tantrum I had was on this forum about it. At the bar itself I was very pleasant and rolled with it, so they didn't even know there was an issue
  12. Use any address you like, including your lsst address in Hong Kong. Do you really think they are going to check or care?
  13. I use Magna Carta for about 1200 baht for Two people signing, but I copied these 2 posts for future use last time a notary public thread came up, hope it helps
  14. So predictable, every time this thread falls off the first page you post some random bar for sale to bump it back up lol btw, bars in Pattaya seem to be going great right now ????
  15. A PCR test costs between 2500-3500 baht so 2 nights hotel, 2 PCR tests and airport transfer to Pattaya seems pretty good at 7700 baht Blame the Thai government insisting on 2 PCR within 5 days of arrival for the high costs
  16. Since clicking on the OP link, everytime I open Google maps it's now full of Rabies alerts. Anyone know how to delete this?
  17. It's 50 metres from Pattaya Bay with nothing between it and the water, definitely waterfront
  18. Good read, thanks. So a demolition order has been approved for over a year, the developers have applied to restart construction after agreeing to knock of the top 8 floors that obstruct some statue from pointing at the water, it's still in the courts for the condo purchasers and the building is in breach of the within 100m of water rule, however they are reclaiming enough waterfront sand to make it within the 100m rule, but that project is also stalled What a mess
  19. The same developer was building the Grand and the Centara condo's opposite each other on soi 15 behind the Avenue. They ran out of money because I understand most of it was siphoned off to the Waterfront. Construction stopped when almost finished. Luckily another developer stepped in and honored all the chanotes, albeit 4 years after they were supposed to get them (my Centara condo was one of them)
  20. Okay, in simple English, why is 14k baht fee a good deal when you already have a bank account with 800k baht deposited? You said it, why is all I'm asking
  21. Maybe you should read threads before you qoute. The 14k fee definitely had 800k in his bank account, just not for the 2 months required Anyway, you said you put me on ignore, so why are you still chatting?
  22. You're ignoring my question, why do think 14k is a good deal? You advised 14k was a good price in a thread asking for agent advice. 14k when you already have a bank account with 800k deposited is not good advice, ignore all you like, this price is a scam unless you are absolutely desperate. Easy to see what you think is normal business in Thailand
  23. 14k for service is a lot when you already have a bank account with 800k baht deposited in it I thought I said that already as my advice, why pay so much for a simple process if you already have bank funds Nice edit, yes OP you refer to had medical conditions so agent was good for him, still doesn't explain why 14k is good value for photocopying Passport pages, TM 30, TM 6 and attaching a photo to go with the existing bank details?
  24. Just wondering why you think 14k is a good price when the OP you refer to already had a bank account with 800k baht deposited...surely these 2 aspects are the main reason to use an agent but are already done so what was the 14k for?
  25. Good luck with that 8 years after stopping construction. After seeing how fast the Edge was constructed, I thought a company like that would jump all over this since it's already half complete...I guess ongoing legal battles (and probably poor workmanship since they ran out of money) would prevent that...
