Richard Barrrow update on the shared cab "James, another close contact after sharing a hotel transfer with someone who tested positive, says his hotel are saying he cannot do a 2nd test and must stay in quarantine for the full 12 days. Kirovs’ family was released after 4 days. I cannot find where this is written down. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Tourism Authority of Thailand don’t seems to know too. They referred me to speak to the Ministry of Public Health who set these rules." I don't understand why he would need to do 14 days quarantine when unvaccinated tourists can come in and do 10 days. Also why does Thailand always refuse getting a 2nd test https://www.facebook.com/100044288176713/posts/447470250072577/

This is your opinion but also bizarre to me (that's my opinion). I traveled the world for 30 years and only when I went to Thailand in 2008 did I find a place that I just have to retire in. The reason being if you decide you want to have fun, every night can be like New Year Eve. You don't have to be an 'alky" to want to enjoy what Thailand has to offer -

What sort of brainwashing went on to make Generals think Thailand is the Maldives or Monoco and only super rich tourists would come, oh wait they still have human rights in those places and you can drink and party if you want to enjoy your holiday... -

So have I got this right? - mandated covid insurance that may not pay for asymptomatic mandated hospital stay, and definitely not close contact quarantine confinement - mandated 1 nights quarantine with mandated taxi plus pre-paid PCR test and ATK test to take with us - you must promise to not drink or socialise with anybody while in Thailand - no bars, night clubs or anything that makes Thailand a great holiday will be available Where do I sign, sounds great?- 240 replies

And after the first 10 days USA has bolted back out in front leaving Germany in their dust, while France has now jumped above Sweden....proves Aussies and Kiwis are smarter than that ???? Richard Barrow update: https://www.facebook.com/100044288176713/posts/446915980128004/ -

Thanks, at least now I know I'm definitely not coming back to Thailand this year. So many hoops and risks to take and nothing is open. -
Not all of the"acceptable" insurance policies cover you if you are asymptomatic, which he was. If Thailand is going to mandate everyone get insurance then it should cover all cases, so symptoms, no symptoms or forced quarantine as a so called close contact. All insurance should pay direct to the hospital or quarantine hotel as well, otherwise the whole thing is pointless.

And the race is on as Germany overtakes USA by 1 person lol Richard Barrow: Top 10 “countries of origin” for people travelling to Thailand from 1-7 November: 1 ???????? Germany 2,666 2 ???????? USA 2,665 3 ???????? United Kingdom 1,475 4 ???????? Japan 1,449 5 ???????? South Korea 987 6 ???????? Russia 959 7???????? Switzerland 949 8 ???????? Sweden 817 9 ???????? France 774 10 ???????? UAE 565 https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=445078490311753&id=100044288176713 -
AXA seems to be a popular choice for insurance as it covers asymptomatic. Well I've just read every word of the policy fine print and as expected it definitely doesn't cover forced quarantine while testing negative. What did shock me though is that you appear to only be able to make a claim after you have discharged from hospital. So if someones bill is 350,000 baht, they would have to pay it and hope for the best to reclaim as much as possible (as I'm sure they won't discharge you without payment)

The Elegant Bangkok, it's in the OP link. It is 7 min drive from airport and has free changes if covid related or plane delays. It's also 5 star with 3 meals so what better way to wait for a negative Test https://asq.in.th/asq-thailand-hotels/elegant-airport-hotel-bangkok-sandbox Oops I better hurry up and book before too many people find out about it ????
