  1. Yeah, steps required 1. COE/Thailand Pass requiring: (a) vax proof (b) $50k medical insurance (c) pre-paid 1 night hotel, includes PCR test + provided self ATK test 2. ATK test at day 6-7 3. Can't see anything else???? Wait, doesn't seem too hard considering previous hard 14 day quarantine?
  2. WAKE UP.... Bali and Fiji are open from 1 November with no restrictions and have beaches and culture that rival Thailand....oh wait, sorry, go back to sleep as you already said that ????
  3. ATK kit requires pre-paid payment with the arrival PCR test and 1 nights hotel Each traveller will receive an ATK that they have prepaid when booking the accommodation. Any traveller experiencing COVID-19 symptoms must immediately get a test done, using the provided ATK. If experiencing no symptoms, travellers must use the provided ATK for COVID-19 self-testing on Day 6-7, and show the result to staff at the hotel or accommodation, as well as record the result (bot detected and non-detected) in the MorChana App.
  4. The gazetted rules are Travellers must download and install the specified alert application (MorChana), and must wait within the accommodation only for the test result, which should be available within the day. And again, link to official requirements supposedly gazetted https://www.tatnews.org/2021/10/quarantine-free-thailand-reopening-for-vaccinated-tourists-from-1-november-2021/
  5. Okay the headline is: Thailand announces reopening rules for tourism reboot I could only find 3 rules in the article 1. The eligible countries for quarantine exemption include Britain, the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Australia, China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia and Cambodia. 2. Visitors must have spent 21 consecutive days in those countries beforehand, unless Thailand was the original departure point, and must arrive by plane, among other requirements. 3. Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha last week said entertainment venues would reopen by Dec. 1. Could we just escalate rule 3 please, we need to start living life ????
  6. What do they care how long you stay, they already have you locked into this: 5. payment confirmation for no less than a 1-night stay upon arrival at the approved quarantine facilities (Alternative Quarantine – AQ, Organisation Quarantine – OQ, or Alternative Hospital Quarantine – AHQ), or SHA Plus-certified hotel. The prepayment should cover both the 1-night accommodation, the required RT-PCR COVID-19 test, and an Antigen Test Kit (ATK).
  7. Yes, the way it always should have been instead of having a separate covid only insurance unlike anywhere else in the World.....
  8. For the sake of paying 1 nights hotel, whereby I may be set free in a matter of hours with a negative PCR, I'm happy to pay it ????
  9. It is: 4. An insurance policy, with coverage clearly identified as no less than US$50,000, which should cover the cost of the treatment and other medical expenses associated with being infected with COVID-19, including in-patient hospitalisation for the whole duration in Thailand. *Except for Thai citizens who are entitled to the national health insurance system.* https://www.tatnews.org/2021/10/quarantine-free-thailand-reopening-for-vaccinated-tourists-from-1-november-2021/
  10. No it's not, they are both now behind Thailand in vax rates https://ourworldindata.org/covid-vaccinations
  11. You've missed the latest which they say has been gazetted For returning Thais and foreign residents, it is not necessary to be in an approved country for 21 days or more, as long as they are travelling from Thailand to the approved country/s and return within the last 21 days. https://www.tatnews.org/2021/10/quarantine-free-thailand-reopening-for-vaccinated-tourists-from-1-november-2021/
  12. Well I'd trust a recent article that's quoting what was gazetted just last night. I think it's redundant anyway as don't most airlines require everyone to have a PCR test result to get on their plane?
  13. Not true, there is no exclusion to Thai for PCR Test (they are excluded from insurance as are covered by the health system) 3. A Medical Certificate with an RT-PCR lab result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected issued no more than 72 hours before travelling. https://www.tatnews.org/2021/10/quarantine-free-thailand-reopening-for-vaccinated-tourists-from-1-november-2021/
  14. I was thinking the same thing. My Condo is right next door to a Mecure hotel so I'm planning to ask how much for a 1 night fake stay so they can process my ATK result lol
  15. I think there item explains it well. We are to use the COE until it is replaced by the next specified platform, which is the Thailand Pass. They just need to quickly change the COE to include the "Quarantine Free" option
  16. Wait until Monday/Tuesday next week for it to change, you're on Thailand time now which says you have plenty ????
  17. I'd go with the later news article posted which they say is what was gazetted. It also says you get a PCR test on arrival and get given a rapid test kit which you must carry out and complete day 6-7. That's not in the graphic either
  18. No, it means you can't fly from India (who is not on the list) to the UAE and then transit to Thailand flight unless you were in the UAE for 21 days minimum Transit/transfer after originally departing from listed country is fine (but wouldn't risk it in case of aircraft failure causing a stop over). There are 46 countries to transit through anyway so shouldn't be too hard
  19. All official and gazetted according to TAT news Thai Prime Minister, General Prayut Chan-o-cha, signed the entry guidelines for the quarantine-free reopening, published in the Royal Thai Government Gazette last night (21 October 2021) along with two other announcements on relaxed COVID-19 controls in 17 Thai destinations. Very clear and specific details in the news link https://www.tatnews.org/2021/10/quarantine-free-thailand-reopening-for-vaccinated-tourists-from-1-november-2021/
  20. 21. I read this as great news. If you read items 2 and 3 from the OP full article it implies the arrival covid test is not a RT-PCR, so hopefully short wait at airport to get result and go ???? 2. present negative result of RT-PCR Covid-19 test which must be tested no less than 72 hours before traveling. 3. agree to have a Covid-19 test by the Thai medical personnel upon arrival. They will be allowed to travel to the designated areas only when the result is negative
  22. I notice the UK and US slipping down the list of most vaccinated countries...why are they the chosen ones again as it can't be for the low daily cases??? https://ourworldindata.org/covid-vaccinations
  23. Aren't today and tomorrow Thailand public holidays, so I guess we wait for next week now? I'm thinking we'll hear Friday 29th October
