  1. Yep, Thailand still 139, which is significantly better than most Western countries including Germany at 53, Austria 50, Greece 43, France 29, Spain 27, UK 22 and USA 21 in most deaths per million population (according to Worldometer)
  2. Wow, this great new plan has been step one in most other countries... about time Thailand figured it out "vaccinating as many vulnerable people as possible, such as the elderly and those suffering from underlying diseases, and to enable people to get access to free COVID-19 screening;"
  3. Maybe because he knew this news would be released I'll be one of the million if so ????
  4. I originally had that but thought 14 days locked in soi 6 might actually kill somebody lol
  5. I don't see how they could secure entry/exit in Pattaya like they do in Phuket and Sumui. How about blocking off certain areas to make it easier to secure ???? Only allow in fully vaccinated tourists after PCR test and workers have rapid test on entry. Maybe to start: (1) Walking Street (2) LK Metro (3) Central fesitval (4) Terminal 21 I'll book number (2) in a heart beat to serve my ASQ time ????
  6. This logic must be taught very early in school to every Thai Bar: few customers with beer at 80 baht, so they put the price up to 100 baht to make more money (in their mind) - result, no customers TAT: few tourists with too many hoops to get there and too many restrictions once there, so they say they don't want those dirty falang anyway, only the super rich should come now - result, even fewer tourists
  7. From the full article... "The government's tourism-revival strategy is to target big spenders that are seeking for privacy and social distancing during their stays, especially during and post COVID-19 world," So they just want people to book an expensive resort villa with all food and drink supplied so they never socialize with anyone else...surely these "big spenders" already have that at home. What a joke
  8. So these 18 plus the 11 arrested in Sumui for have a resort villa party (with 13 Thais) is really hurting Falang reputation... Does this means the Thai's belief that we can't be trusted with alcohol during ASQ was actually correct ????
  9. This makes me think how popular Nikom Court was with older expats. Get your own beer out of the fridge and watch the World go by on soi bukao. Did they all just move 100m up the road?
  10. Refreshing to hear someone finally say Phuket "had low numbers and relatively low income but that was always on the cards" Eagerly waiting for the Pattaya Sandbox to start ????
  11. TAT originally quoted 129,000 travellers would arrive between 1 July and 30 September. So far 22,389 arrived up to 19 Aug (50 days). So if it's a big success, I guess the TAT must still be expecting the other 107,611 to arrive in the next 42 days...
  12. So they are willing to pay some of the quarantine costs in your home country and yet they won't even pay for the 3 mandated PCR tests after arrival in Thailand. It would make more sense to pay the bill if a tourist is forced into 14 days ASQ purely because they sat on the same plane as a positive passenger
  13. You might want to fix the typo as only 20,000 people have used the sandbox, not 200,000 as stated "The Center for Economic Situation Administration’s (CESA) Spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, said today that Phuket has welcomed some 200,000 international visitors since the start of the Phuket Sandbox campaign on 1st July..."
  14. Thailand has the 10th most cases in the World over the last 7 days ????
  15. Maybe should be locking out cargo ships too with 16 cases off ships yesterday https://www.tatnews.org/
