  1. One thought .. I always see workers camped under the Sala at the temple. Temples always have water and a kettle for a coffee in the morning. I often drop the wife off at the market and slope off, park the truck in the shade and grab a couple of hours sleep.
  2. The police are the last thing you should worry about. If you mange to find a nice secluded place, you might find you are sharing it with the local teenage scooter gang. I have a little experience wild camping, mostly in Malaysia where its more acceptable (mostly as the hotels and whatever are not so appealing) It gets really hot and close in a tent in Thailand, you need somewhere to wash up in the morning or you will feel pretty horrible the next day. You will take your tent down at first light. Some resorts and all national parks allow camping but it's not a cheap alternative. tbh, you are better off getting a cheap hotel, but by all means bring a hammock and tarp, you could just throw it up if you could find a quiet spot and quickly breakdown at first light.
  3. I knew that was going to be an answer, I dont know why I didnt check first. I have never ordered from RS here, have you? For one, its seems expensive (they give price per length and only supply 2 lengths in a "pack" so its automatically double the price) I think I could get some slotted 2x2 fabricated for way less, just lacking in time time atm.
  4. lol .. you were quick off the mark there, I had to laugh at that.
  5. Has anyone unistrut for sale here. I want to run a cable basket down a wall. In the past the sparks would install the basket, first bolting the unistrut to the wall, then fixing the basket with a sliding penny washer. The clips and basket are available at a solar power supplier but no straightforward way of fixing it. Any clues?
  6. Exactly, the contents of the parcel is nothing to do with this article, the deliveries or flash express. I am always confused by posters who distrust paying for goods - I always pay for the goods, I always receive the goods, maybe a day or two later than I expect from some carriers, but that's nothing to do with the vendor. It's due to bad logistics management. If there is an issue with the quality of the goods I always get a refund, that's nothing to with carrier.
  7. Just watched a documentary Everybody In The Place - I kind of enjoyed it but he rattled on too much about the miners strike, I do recognize the connection of the thatcher years and the Bright bill. but anyway, if it appeals, worth a watch.
  8. Exactly, I use a pi-hole - a system wide smart DNS would render that useless.
  9. Idk, a few guys I know use them, but they are solely connecting to UK servers. I think @xylophone picked up on a previous comment I made and seems happy with I think, https://dns4me.net - They aren’t for everyone, I’m not interested because they seem systemwide, I’m not interested in going into the router settings everytime I want to change location. Couldnt agree more with you regarding your comment on free VPN, posters need to catch a wake up, up to them if they want to use them or not but do plenty of research first. The easiest method seems to be to install the “helper” app on your smart tv or android box, and just change the server when you need to change country. I had the surfshark app on my firetv and it would auto start into UK server every power up so I could watch iplayer.
  10. I had this with PIA. Apparently users suspect that they allow you access to a faster server in the trial period and change to a server with greater traffic after you have signed up, idk if that's true. I trialed PIA, and after a couple of days I wanted to get a refund and buy a proper subscription, the refund service was really quick, when I chatted to support and said, wow! the service is great, he gave me a coupon code. After my first year, I contacted customer chat and asked for a coupon for a loyal customer .. "no can, sorry but what you could do is sign up for a different account" - VPN and seedbox providers are just cowboys.
  11. The 1080 shows you get from torrent trackers are capped by UK residents, who can access 1080 HLS streams or use DAB tuners, if you use an VPN you get access to some (upscaled) 1080 streams, as you say they still look good, even the 720 DASH that you can pickup using surfshark are good and reliable. We are talking about the different streams available on BBC iplayer.
  12. There is a difference between can and have, when 500 people log in from a single ip,address that happens to be in a data center in docklands or park royal to watch eastenders do you think the beeb don’t notice? They don’t particularly care, restricting access is good enough, for example you can’t get a true 1080 stream using a vpn, but if you are in the UK, you can get a 1080 stream.
  13. Correct, the only times I see people getting pulled over are tall sided pickups and tax dodgers. Have you ever been caught in a speed trap? my regular route is returning through Ban Fang, on the Chaiyapum road, the policeman sits there with a striped umbrella with his laser gun. I have been clocked at 110 and never pulled over, not too sure what speed you need to do to be fined.
  14. Depends what you are using it for .. if you just want something to watch UK and overseas TV, not too fussed about the quality of the picture (still very good) then surfshark is more than OK and cheap. If you want a reliable provider for overseas TV, then something like PIA and Express are good, they offer specific servers for streaming services, there can be problems from time to time and the provider is usually fast to react. People like Netflix and BBC can easily detect vpn usage, if you want privacy, mullvad, is the best - and proton. Mullvad is proven to be secure, and proton is swiss based making it secure or you can set up your own on a vps. if you are looking for something fast, reliable and cheap use a smart dns service, more reliable than vpn.
  15. Clear your cookies on the browser. I use Firefox for iplayer, set to clear cookies on shutdown, usually works.
  16. Udon or KKC - but I'm biased. I feel Udon is a touch more industrialized and polluted, I always get stuck in traffic jams there, but there are lots of westerners there. I really like Buriram as a place to settle when I have visited, lots of facilities and whatever, because of the stadium and track. Places like Ubon, roi et, Yaso - no thanks, too quiet. It's been a long time since I visited Mukdahan, Nong Khai, and the town that border Laos & Mekhong, im sure they are nice, maybe a fair few westerners, but seemed to be less westernized. The thing about UT and KKC, they have lots of flights to BKK, maybe direct flights to Chiang Mai, decent road links to Korat, and BKK - maybe not so difficult to get to Pattaya, Ko Chang. eastern seaboard.
  17. No, not on work history, but like others have said, you need the 400K in the bank or 40K+/month salary - but just to add, I used to have a WP on a ME Visa from Savanakhet. So, if you are temporarily embarrassed, don't stress, just go to Laos or wherever they issue ME visas, you can get a WP from the labour office. I used to teach, holding non-O is much less of a worry than holding non-B, it removes any worry of losing your job and having to leave the country after the school cancels the WP and non-B that's tied to it. Your local immigration might not like it for a couple of reasons.
  18. La Haine The Great Silence The Man Who Fell To Earth Big Wednesday Primer Killing Zoe The Escapist
  19. Currently enjoying The Long Shadow - I was only a kid in the sevz' and I find these dramas fascinating, like White House Farm, as it jogs my memory about stuff I wasn't too aware of at the time. My father was telling me how uninterested he is in docu-dramas, then filled me in about The Reckoning as @Andrew Dwyer mentioned, features Steve Coogan, should be good.
  20. Sad day - I often drive the country roads at 4:00-5:00 am. Thai cyclists active at this hour are very aware of the dangers, they have piercing bright LED on the front and from the rear solid and flashing lights, they ride in small packs, most usually single file and it's really difficult not to be confused / intrigued (meaning, be aware and slow down) by the group of moving lights - no excuses for this driver of the Isuzu, he is a murder, lock him up.
  21. Probably the area with the highest foot traffic in Thailand, probably the area with the highest risk of something like this, with the highest fatality rate - like this hasn't happened before in this area, Erawan bombings? and their HQ (not some local satellite station) is not equipped for this. TBF, I don't think anywhere could be totally prepared for something like this, but like Thailand has a pretty large police force, when a VIP would visit Songkhla, you would see a police officer every -50M from HY airport for 30km, and now they aren't equipped or prepared .. hub of excuses.
  22. No need to be sorry, the lack of Thai subs and a whining noise about the Chinese HC subs in my right ear was the deciding factor.
  23. I tried watching Mission Impossible on Sunday night, it's not a great encode, it's only 3GB for a 1080 file, no Thai subs yet. I gave it up, and wait for an upgrade.
  24. I remember moving blankets! Not a US term, if you ever moved furniture or fine arts, you would know. As you say they aren't for sleeping, although have made a bed in the back of a lorry from them plenty of times. They are a bit itchy.
