Buy from an official seller. I purchased a seagate 5tb portable drive for my portable NAS last year and subsequently dropped it making it worthless. North America seagate replaced it on warranty with no issues with it being purchased in Thailand. I'm sure if I had purchased it online at a discounted price. You can check the serial number of your drive on seagate.com to see what the actual warranty for that drive is.

That's a really old box. I replaced my km-3 boxes last year with tox-3 after the mecool box died. The tox-3 comes rooted, 4gb ram, 32 or 64 gb rom. Not sure about Netflix certification as I download everything I watch. With all the streaming providers out there the only answer is to not subscribe to any.

It's a DS211J. Does all you need and can handle a single disk failure if it's set up properly. I wanted transparent encryption so I set up my own with truecrypt, snapraid and mergerfs which had been working great for a couple if years so no need for this NAS anymore.

As I've put together my own NAS for a number of reasons, my dual hard drive Synology NAS is sitting here doing nothing. If someone wants it I could set it up for them if they provide the drives.
