Parking Chaos in Pattaya Ignites Local Outrage Over Vanishing Pavements
There is the question and the answer. No one in Thailand follows the rules. The easy option is to blame the authorities, but it is the people who break the rules. You, me, AN posters, everyone.

Thailand Lowers National Emergency Level to 2 After Earthquake
Not really effective disaster response measures by the government, I first heard about the earthquake in an email from a friend in the UK checking that all was good here. Even after the building collapsed, the response was half-hearted. The collapsed site was supposed to be a secure area, yet 4 or 5 Chines guys got back in and took lots of files away. The police only found out later and asked them to bring the files back.

Pretty much all apps written, distributed in Thailand are rubbish. Very little control and testing before distribution. All part of the 'I want it now' society. Throw the app out there and let the people test it. Anyway, what about folk who do not have the phone or any apps? What about the people away from a wifi point? What about the people with no internet at all? Earthquakes have a habit of wiping out phone masts and internet networks. Yet again, the government looking after the Bangkok elite first. The consortium that won the bid were instructed by the government to reduce the initial quote by some 258 million baht. (According to a previous report here on AN.) Thanks for that suggestion. I am assuming that the problem is the cable as we have replaced everything else. Many years in IT have given me pretty good problem analysis skills but here I am having to convince the local engineers. I have to go through their 'solutions' to show them. This saga is never ending. Changing the router meant that the CCTV does not work. The CCTV guy came yesterday and 'played' with the router and told me that 3BB need to 'open the port'. I am not a comms expert. Anyway, after he left - no internet at all. Nothing. Zilch. Da nada. I have been using a neighbour's wifi since yesterday, be both switched to 3BB at the same time. We had been using a private internet system before then (Blue Chip). My neighbour's internet keeps dropping out, same as mine. I am not sure if he is on the same cable or a separate one. Separate routers of course. Ho hum. I cannot wait for next week's amazing instalment.- Inheritance Dispute Leads to Murder in Chon Buri Cemetery
