  1. Quite a nice, polite way of saying 'did eff all'.
  2. Lots of victim/parent blaming here again. Do AN readers live in a parallel universe? It's not as if this poor lad's parents are ultra rich and the bike was a Christmas present (eg 'Boss' of Red Bull fame). Motorbikes are a vital necessity for many here in Thailand. It is often the only was for the ultra poor to get around, make a living and so on. A motorbike is the only transport that the majority of the population can afford. That is the real world.
  3. Sadly, Thailand/China do not care about that. It is all about the money and big project back-handers.
  4. And possibly salt. I am on a 'salt free' diet and get cramp regularly. Luckily, not that frequently. An electrolyte drink puts it right - until the next attack.
  5. It is not only Thais who fight over estates at funerals, although it seems that Thais tend to go for the 'killing' option. I have not been to a funeral yet in the UK where the family did not argue about what was left to whom. Families in the UK argue, but they tend not to kill. My mother, my grandmother, my wife's grandmother, my father-in-law, my son, even my wife - there were arguments about who gets what after they died. Funerals and 'who gets what' brings out the worst in people.
  6. Oh dear Mrs PM. It appears that the vultures are circling.
  7. Be careful what you wish for you anti-Semitic 'concerned netizens'. The media should bear some responsibility here as well.
  8. Very well done Ms Patchani, and very brave as well. I never let the hospital give me drugs. I always ask the doctors to write down the 'prescription' and then I buy them at the local pharmacy. The pharmacist usually asks 'copy or original'?
  9. The legality of abortions is not clear. Even if one decides to have an abortion, it is difficult - From the Bangkok Post https://www.bangkokpost.com/life/social-and-lifestyle/2982166/thai-women-still-left-holding-the-baby
  10. The poor kids would still be dead had they not been on the scooter. ie just walking along the road. That's the same as Thais saying that any accident involving a foreigner is the foreigners fault. The accident would not have happened if the foreigner was not here. Lots of victim blaming here. The person at fault is the driver of the car. End of.
  11. Why on earth would terrorists from the far south want AK47'S in Phuket? Unless........ Quite worrying if they are seeking publicity there.
  12. I would think that a foot away is a more accurate description. Landing almost on top of a cobra would freak most people out.
  13. And another five people arrested on 17th March trying to smuggle cannabis, but this time they were caught at Chiang Mai airport. Three Brits and a couple of American lasses. A very busy few days for the customs people and the police. https://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/2025/03/19/three-brits-two-americans-caught-at-chiang-mai-airport-cannabis-bust/
  14. Rubbish. If people are going to work illegally, they will not care how long the visa lasts. They will just overstay - as usual. No mention of those that do come to Thailand for 60 - 90 days every year. I have friends who come every year to get away from the cold weather.
  15. If he was unaware of what was happening, how does he know that he did not steal the car??? None of this story makes any sense.
  16. What a sad little sycophant Piripan is. There may be a lot of influential people to choose to suck up to, but Prayut is not on that list. He's just a jumped up, out of work general who put Thailand into the hole that it is now in.
  17. I wonder how many Thai restaurants also comply with these regulations.
  18. What Hamas did on October 7th was unforgivable and unforgettable. The Pro Palestinian brigade should accept that they are in the wrong and are supporting Hamas genocide against the Israelis. A fact that was part of Hamas campaign during the election. Palestinians voted Hamas in and have been supporting them. During the recent ceasefire, when Hamas failed to deliver their side of the bargain, Hamas were moving troops and weapons nearer Israel's border ready for another invasion.
  19. I agree. Luckily, here on Samui, it is only one day. Tourists have been trying to extend that into day two but the locals have soon sorted them out.
  20. My goodness. One can tell that Khun Thienprasit is not a politician looking for handouts. He is actually making a lot of sense. Sadly, his recommendations will be ignored by the money grabbers.
  21. I agree with Sheryl. Try a sleep test. I have COPD and also suffer with sleep apnoea. Sadly, a CPAP machine was of no help as prostate and bladder issues make sure that I still wake up every 2-3 hour for the bathroom trek. Not sure what this covers, but for my breathing issues, I had a full pulmonary function test carried out at Bumrungrad Hospital. The nurse there certainly knew her stuff. It was a major test taking almost half a day. Lung function tests at the local hospital here were pretty much a waste of time. Very basic equipment. You can monitor your oxygen level at home with a finger pulse oximeter. Lots on Lazada.
  22. What is the point when the local government puts lampposts and street sign in the middle of the 'walkways'. Never mind the trees and bushed planted there.
  23. Welcome to the 'woke, TikTok, You Tube' world Ed. It is all about 'likes'. ie $$$ Nothing else matters. BTW, base jumping is pretty dumb. Jumpers know and accept the risks, they film it for 'likes'. Sorry, but your brother achieved his aim.
