12-Year-Old in Critical Condition After Vaping for Two Years
Tropicalevo replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
For goodness sake people, how many kids are going to die before someone starts to enforce the law vigorously. Life is going to be extremely difficult for this poor lass from now on all because people think that vaping is safe. (and please do not bother telling me that you have been vaping for 150 years and your lungs are fine 'cough! cough!')- 91 replies

Deadly Attack in Yarang District: Officers Shot and Killed
Tropicalevo replied to snoop1130's topic in Southern Thailand News
As always in this terrorist infested area, no one saw anything or knows anything. -
OK, this is not a retirement extension, but maybe there is hope on the horizon. Good friends come to Samui for three months every year with a quick break in KPN for two weeks. Typical snow-birds on a two month visa and applying for a one month extension. Last year, the extension was whilst they were on KPN. I had warned them to ask the hotel for a copy of the TM 30, but there was a lot of kerfuffle as the hotel had entered something wrong on it so there was a bit of to-ing and fro-ing to get it corrected. Queues at KPN immigration This morning they have just been to Samui immigration. No queue, presented documents downstairs, did not need the TM 30, and straight upstairs. Processed immediately then a 10 minute wait for the stamp and passports back and out. Start to finish - 20 minutes. Is this a record? They are still recovering from the shock

If Hamas turn this into another 'dog and pony show', then the attacks on Hamas should be resumed. -
And it did not occur to the assistant abbot to call for an ambulance? But rather, he also left the poor abandoned chap on the floor outside. Selfish git.

Assuming that folk are serious about doing something, this is where Bangkok fails. There is no strict enforcement of anything here. -

If used correctly, I understand that we do not have to put up with it. AI does what you ask it to (in theory). if you want flowery rubbish padding out basic statements, that is what you get. GIGO

Someone needs to do something about these things. The governments are just pussy footing around and doing nothing. If it is to be the Three Stooges - so be it. -
China Pressures Thailand to Uphold Myanmar Utility Bans
Tropicalevo replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Scam capital is right next to the Thai border at Mae Sot. To get to the Chinese border, the military would have to escort them through territory held by the freedom fighters. These are the folk that the military are fighting. -

I thought that the facial recognition thing came out a while back. It was supposed to be for old and new accounts but the banks struggled to sort their side of it out. -
Thai PM Calms Tensions Over Cambodian Anthem Incident
Tropicalevo replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
More misbehaving tourists coming into Thailand visa free. Or are they spies? According to reports in other papers, the Cambodian military officer (he was a general) was wearing a long sleeved, plain white shirt. Not in uniform. -

Samui's Real Estate Draws Global Attention Amidst Phuket Boom
Tropicalevo replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
This was true back in the early 2000's when I started building. The guy who built my second house was an established builder from Phuket. He could not believe how cheap the land here was compared to Phuket so he moved here full time. He finished my second house OK, but did a runner on the third (and last) one. Wife #3 found out about wife #2 and they were both taking him to the cleaners. -

They should try this one on the other holiday islands here. Tao, Phangan and Samui. Koh Phangan last week was a free for all with foreigners driving badly. -

South Pattaya Enforces Strict Parking Rules as Clampdown Begins
Tropicalevo replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Here on Samui it is not PR, it is revenue generating. They are not hitting the villages/towns where locals block parking spaces, but they are hitting parking near tourist areas and attractions. The local clinic has had to rent space for their patients and the patients have to pay to park there. Still 100 baht parking is cheaper than the 1,000 baht 'fine'.
