  1. Here on the islands, almost all rental companies keep a passport as a deposit. Do the rental people do the same in Pattaya?
  2. In a different news channel, A told the police that her occupation was as a sex worker.
  3. From the full story This was against the Pheu Thai Party leader Chonlanarn Srikaew. Not much of an 'olive branch'. More an Olive twig. The lawsuit can be made again once Anutin is deputy PM. Lo and behold. Chonlanarn Srikaew gets a criminal record and has to resign as PM. Well done Anutin. Stitched them up a treat.
  4. Not a delicate question at all. Money will fix anything in Thailand (and many other countries). That is why the poor always suffer the most. Examples Two Thais scratching a living from the ground - literally. Picking mushrooms in a National Park - Gaol for a number of years. Yet A deputy PM hiding assets and 'borrowing' flashy expensive watches - nothing. An MP gaoled in Australia for drug running - still an MP. An American millionaire hired a hit man to kill a friend of mine in Bangkok. The American had fled back to the USA but he was caught and then extradited from the USA back to Thailand. He went to gaol - for a few months and was then let out. (He was extradited because the CIA wanted him gaoled here in Thailand. The CIA were at my friend's funeral.)
  5. I disagree. I enjoy reading 'feel-good' stories now and again. They are rare in news items all over the world. Maybe read the whole article. It shows human love at all levels. Money for the grandchild's education from poor people with very limited resources. We need more of this in this woke, entitled world.
  6. Oh dear. Now, where are there no floods, no droughts and good infrastructure?
  7. Not banned in any pubs in 58 years but I am banned from the Excelsior Hotel in Hong Kong. Took all of the staff there for Christmas lunch one year. Fixed price meal including free flow beer and wine. ???????? Next day they called my secretary and told her that i was banned. Apparently, we drank a lot and they lost a lot of money on the deal. ????
  8. Thanks for the update. It is not in the press as far as I can see. A very sad event. ☹️
  9. The usual defence of the guilty. So it must be true then. Well done Chuwit.
  10. Someone needs to give the CCP a slap on the back of the head. Unfortunately they have been allowed to make a 'soft' takeover of other countries' territories and now everyone is too distracted with events in the Ukraine to do anything about China. Good timing Xi.
  11. The whole thing is said for all. Death is painful for those left behind, but the dead feel nothing. This young lady will be in pain for a very long time. Possibly for the rest of her life. The memory of this will last forever.
  12. I have sympathy for anyone dying of cancer. The end date is never certain. My son was given 6 months to live but survived for two years. The end result is still the same though.
  13. I suspect that it is bit more than an unfortunate incident. They have been bringing 'explosives' into an area where there are angry insurgents killing people. The smuggling has been going on for some years as have the bombings.
  14. According to the BP, the Spanish lad has confessed to the murder.
  15. I suggest that you have a chat with someone who does this every week and knows what is possible - on the ground. Immigration offices can vary from office to office in how they handle things. What works at one office, sometimes does not work at another. Herbert has been taking people for 'border bounces' for 20 years. He tends to be aware of the latest local 'rules'. https://hdvisa-thailand.com/ Visa runs are usually to Malaysia. By the way, quickest is usually not the cheapest.
  16. That has to be a pretty senseless comment. Anyone who says anything against Putin is likely to end up in gaol (or worse, thrown out of a window ). Navalny tried to stop him and look where he is (for an extra 19 years).
  17. Go for it. I wish you all good luck. Mind you, you may need to 'raise the roof'?
  18. It is said that 'confession is good for the soul'. What he is doing makes sense. I wish Chuvit a painless and happy time for his remaining days.
  19. Try asking on your local Fakebook groups. Many crutches are left behind when the tourists go home.
  20. Oh dear. The EU still throwing teddies out of the pram. For goodness sake, get a life and move on.
