We seem to have the reverse problem here on Samui. Driver accepts the app booking but does not show up. On the way to the pick up - they see another tourist. Tourist rip-off price v app price - goodbye app customer. NB Taxis have never used meters here in all of the time that they have been on the island.

Depends on ones definition of inexpensive. Import tax back then for a Mercedes coupe would have been a very high number. The brown envelopes were quite a few 0's less.

I used to wear glasses for short and mid distances. Then cataracts happened. Went to Bangkok Phuket and had tri focal lenses fitted. Brilliant. No need for glasses any more. Ah. You must have been in the posh restaurants on Samui. All Thai staff where I tend to eat. Now KPN is a different story. All Burmese staff in every restaurant and bar that I went to.

A follow on from this is that we cannot get a mini van when there is a cruise ship in and again on 13th April. They stay at home when there is water throwing and bedlam.

Interesting concept here. We organise transfers for our guests but there is the occasional time when a taxi is not available. So we take them to the airport, hospital, wherever - we do not charge them. It is usually an emergency. If I happen to be driving........
