The solution to the ones entering illegally is simple. At the moment, they arrest them. Check them for Covid. Incarcerate them and then send them back. Of all of the recent migrants, NONE have had Covid. So, register them. Give them temporary papers and let them work in a controlled environment. After a probation period, make their papers more permanent.

This is the bit that Thailand ignores. They are refugees. They know that Thailand will just send them back so they have no choice but to escape from Burma illegally. (Earning a few bob helps as there is no financial cushion in Thailand.) Shame on you Prayut.

Are zoomers any better than boomers?
Tropicalevo replied to Jingthing's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
That is not how it works. We paid for our parents' pension. You are paying for ours (except that I saved for a private one). Your children will pay for yours - if they bother to get a job instead of demonstrating. This is the theory anyway, -
I have a good Thai brand L size. (59/60). It is a bit tight, which is good. XL should work for you PoorSucker.

More than 65 thousand sign up for Thailand Pass
Tropicalevo replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You can apply but........ Experience from a friend of mine trying to get here for more than a month now. It took us 3 + weeks to get the visa, yesterday I applied for the Thailand Pass for us two - the wife´s came back approved within 5 minutes - mine not yet... No one can understand what these guys are doing to their homeland with this silly regulations - if I have no QR Code from Thailand Pass I cannot buy a flight ticket and have to keep postponing hotel stay again and again.. That does not attract tourists... -

It is fixed by the middle men as proved in the Yingluck fiasco. Only the middle men made money in the 'Thai rice price fixing scheme'. -
Please help with this meter reading/ bill :-)
Tropicalevo replied to WanderingGoat's topic in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
As others have said, the number of units is correct. The price per unit depends on a number of factors. Government electricity (PEA) is anything from 2.5 to 4.5 baht per unit depending on location. Private developments are always more expensive. Usually because the cables are underground and as such, are maintained privately. (More expensive maintenance.) There are a few private developments in the area where I live and they all charge between 7 and 9 baht per unit. One development used to charge 29 baht per unit but I believe that has been reduced now. According to a real estate agent that I was talking to the other day, the most expensive electricity that he has come across is 45 baht per unit. Your photos would tend to suggest that the meter is in a distribution box as in a private development. PEA meters tend to just sit on the electricity pole. -
Test & Go scheme unavailable for Samui?

They are still flying today. PG5171 and PG5125. Try and book with an airline that is codeshare with PG and book all of the way through. The transit in Bangkok from International to domestic is in a 'bubble'. Whether they are flying next month........ As khunPer states - utter confusion. -

“I had already made sure that there were no vehicles coming when I was crossing the road. I have no idea where the motorbike rider came from.” Having ridden motorbikes in Thailand for more than 20 years, it is my experience that most car drivers, when pulling out of side roads, do not care about or see motorcycles. They just pull out onto the road. It is a case of 'I am bigger than you and I have more money - give way to me.'

Very little effort seems to have been made to find the murderer and he/she still roams free to kill again. ???? RIP Young 'un.
