House Speaker Addresses Lack of Quorum
Tropicalevo replied to Jonathan Fairfield's topic in Thailand News
Better still - sack them. -
People are missing the point. If the CCSA closes everything down, everyone moans and they get a bad (worse) rep. So, make people do the testing and follow silly rules The CCSA knows that it will not happen, and when Covid 'breaks out of gaol' again, the CCSA can say - it is YOUR fault. We told you to behave and you didn't. OK Lockdown.

Are there any Grab cars running in Samui?
Tropicalevo replied to edwardandtubs's topic in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
Grab is still operating but at peak times there will no spare cars. Guests are telling me of the same problem. Many cars are waiting at hotels and the ferries now. Loads waiting in Bangrak at the ferry terminals!!! -
How to get to Phangan from Samui nowadays
Tropicalevo replied to boogiewoogie's topic in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
This thread has info. The only difference is that Lomprayah now goes from Bangrak. There is a new ferry service from the Bangrak Seatran pier but I do not have info on that one. -
Bangkok to plant flower gardens in public parks
Tropicalevo replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
People cannot eat flowers. Stop the wasteful, 'back-hander' projects and support the people. -
Once you catch Covid - it takes a while to show itself in a test. We have had guests be negative before they leave their home country, negative after the one day Test and Go but positive on day 5. That is why Thailand has stopped the Test and Go - it is not long enough for quarantine.

27 flights inbound to Samui today. ???? All of our villas are full (and quite a few hotels apparently). With Chaweng being closed, Bangrak has taken on a new lease of life. Not enough places to park! ????
-
Between 15 to 20 flights per day for almost every day this month. 17 flights so far scheduled for today and that is only until 17.30. There will be more flights added later as the last flight in is usually 20.30.

That is the route that I am taking as well.

Coronavirus vaccinations on the islands
Tropicalevo replied to khunPer's topic in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
They were still doing vaccinations at Central Festival this morning. Not many people there. -
Nothing for domestic travellers.

Sadly, Thailand is not prepared should this happen again. "Public disaster experts admitted today (Sunday) that the Thai public is generally unaware of the danger posed by a repeat of a devastating tsunami, like that which struck many countries in Southeast Asia and around the Indian ocean, including the west coast of southern Thailand 17 years ago, and that there is a lack of a credible tsunami early warning system." Coronavirus vaccinations on the islands
Tropicalevo replied to khunPer's topic in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
There was an empty desk there when I was vaccinated. Just a microphone on it. That was at about 09.30. -

And this is the best that City Hall can do to make the roads more safe for holidaymakers??? How sad is that. ???? -
Coronavirus vaccinations on the islands
Tropicalevo replied to khunPer's topic in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
Yes - I was delayed for about 15 minutes waiting in a queue for a photocopy. The slowest copier on the island. After that - very quick. Well done to the organisers. (Friends who went did not need a copy of their passports and did not even have to show them!) -
Yet still the Thai junta support the Burmese one. The poor Burmese refugees will probably be sent back next week. "Medical teams are on standby to provide medical treatment to injured refugees according to international principles." And these are probably similar 'international principals' that the police used against unarmed protesters.

This was not the prime reason for the current wave of Covid infections which started in April. The start of it all was the fact that HiSo's and government leaders were not following guidelines and going to private entertainment places. THEN Covid starting travelling. Have those owners and patrons of the entertainment places been gaoled yet? (Rhetorical question.)
