  1. Bangkok, Bangkok, Bangkok. What about the other 50 million citizens? (Especially the elderly Thais?)
  2. It is fixed by the middle men as proved in the Yingluck fiasco. Only the middle men made money in the 'Thai rice price fixing scheme'.
  3. As others have said, the number of units is correct. The price per unit depends on a number of factors. Government electricity (PEA) is anything from 2.5 to 4.5 baht per unit depending on location. Private developments are always more expensive. Usually because the cables are underground and as such, are maintained privately. (More expensive maintenance.) There are a few private developments in the area where I live and they all charge between 7 and 9 baht per unit. One development used to charge 29 baht per unit but I believe that has been reduced now. According to a real estate agent that I was talking to the other day, the most expensive electricity that he has come across is 45 baht per unit. Your photos would tend to suggest that the meter is in a distribution box as in a private development. PEA meters tend to just sit on the electricity pole.
  4. They are still flying today. PG5171 and PG5125. Try and book with an airline that is codeshare with PG and book all of the way through. The transit in Bangkok from International to domestic is in a 'bubble'. Whether they are flying next month........ As khunPer states - utter confusion.
  5. I have friends coming from Germany this month and yes, they are bringing their dog. Paperwork for the dog is easier than COE/Thailand Pass they said.
  6. But I thought that Siam bioscience was producing the AZ vaccine in Thailand? "while also producing and delivering vaccines produced in Thailand by Siam Bioscience."
  7. Ah yes. Bali. Where they only want quality tourists and some Muslim hardliners are trying for a total alcohol ban. Sound familiar? https://asiatimes.com/2021/09/bali-wants-rich-not-poor-tourists-after-the-plague/
  8. That is a Samui Plus flight. Theoretically the passengers should be in a 'bubble' transfer to domestic from International arrivals but I thought that these flights were stopped as from 30/11. Oh well. SNAFU
  9. “I had already made sure that there were no vehicles coming when I was crossing the road. I have no idea where the motorbike rider came from.” Having ridden motorbikes in Thailand for more than 20 years, it is my experience that most car drivers, when pulling out of side roads, do not care about or see motorcycles. They just pull out onto the road. It is a case of 'I am bigger than you and I have more money - give way to me.'
  10. Alcohol can be served in many restaurants on Koh Samui as well, but not in the rest of Suratthani province
  11. Very little effort seems to have been made to find the murderer and he/she still roams free to kill again. ???? RIP Young 'un.
  12. Here is a shout for the Mitsubishi Mirage. Start at 474,000 THB I bought one for wifey about 10 years ago. Sadly, wifey passed on about 5 years ago but the car is still going strong. Cheap, easy to park and a hatchback. When you drop down the seats, loads of room for 4 dogs. It has never let me (or wifey) down - touch wood and servicing and insurance are as cheap as chips.
  13. The lady that used to run the shop in the Tesco Lotus cinema complex has moved. I believe that she is somewhere between the top of the hill opposite Makro and the wine place at the bottom of the hill heading towards Tesco. On the right hand side heading down. Sorry that I cannot be more specific.
  14. No one has posted here for a while. Come on, there must be some good shots out there of our lovely island. Here is one of my own favourites, taken from my deck with a shaky hand and a dodgy phone. Anyone know what happened to Samui Jimmy? Please PM me if it is private.
