  1. My Shark also has a flip front. (lower section) Most of the time I do not use it as I do not like the way it restricts vision and I like to feel the breeze. Only use it on longer journeys. Living on an island, I do not get many of them!
  2. Wow. That is not good. Been riding bikes in Thailand for 23 years - never had a helmet go missing yet. 🤞 Just rest the helmet on the mirror. The current one is a fairly good one (Shark) cost 14,000 baht. Being an old fogey, I also tend to forget and leave the key in the bike. I have had the key taken once - by a security guard at the ferry terminal when I went away for a few days. Never lost the bike - a very old PCX.
  3. There have been a few more than that. https://www.thaipbsworld.com/seven-boats-sink-in-gulf-and-andaman-sea-in-four-days-eight-people-still-missing/ and at least two more since that article. It is going to be interesting with the Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan tomorrow and another one on 31/12. Mind you, the forecast is looking a bit better and people have been arriving to catch ferries all week.
  4. Seven according to Thai PBS with at least one more since that report. https://www.thaipbsworld.com/seven-boats-sink-in-gulf-and-andaman-sea-in-four-days-eight-people-still-missing/
  5. So why do they need to close the line? Surely the trains cannot run without electricity.
  6. These children are desperate to keep Thaksin in gaol and away from power. Very sad. They should get a job.
  7. According to the Daily Telegraph, she was a British artist living in Thailand.
  8. Similar - just the yellow Tabian Baan and passport. Did not bother with the pink id. For villas that we manage, just the blue Tabian Baan. They asked for owner's passport details as well but we never had to show them. They accepted my passport details.
  9. I understand that there are four different strains of dengue but you do not catch the same strain more than once. Each time that you catch it, the symptoms/pain can be worse. I have had it three times. Two definite and one probable. https://www.ecdc.europa.eu/en/dengue-fever/facts
  10. In other news, a dive boat sank this morning on the other side of the mainland (near Surin islands). Two folk missing, 14 saved. Now is not a good time to be on the water. A good idea by Seatran to warn people.
  11. Nowhere that I can find, does it say that the vessel had a leak. Where did you glean that little gem from? That boat sits low in the water. With waves of up to 3 - 4 meters, they will break over the deck and enter the vessel. One report says that this then caused the water pumps to stop working. Apart from those two little errors, your comment is accurate.
  12. So three suppliers say that sales are not as good as the could be. I bet that somewhere, three suppliers are saying that sales are better than before.
  13. Now that is a good move for folk. A plus there for the immigration people.
  14. Thank you for the update. I have received messages that Seatran are not accepting reservations at the moment as they cannot guarantee sailing times. Also, not taking bookings for transfers to the airport as again, no guarantees.
  15. What about the religion of money? Lots of people worship it.
  16. But I am of the understanding that Muslims can kill non believers without fear of retribution.
  17. Well done to the lad. Total commitment to his family. It is a shame that there were no other options for him in spite of all of the blah blah press releases and fake promises from this and other governments.
  18. Same same. I complain when overcharged and tell them when undercharged. Seems fair to me.
  19. All part of this government's policy to move everyone onto using phone apps where it is easier to harvest information, track people and their transactions. Many banks have moved to apps only.
  20. Supot Electric on the ring road?
  21. It seems that a lot of young people do not know how to look after babies and young children. Resulting in the abuse and sad events like this. And the PM wants citizens to have more children. Frightening.
  22. The fraudster was obviously not the sharpest knife in the drawer. In gaol, he can get lessons on how to do it properly.
  23. Obviously not from the UK. He is not wearing socks. UK tourists wear socks and sandals and have a knotted handkerchief on their heads.
