    We process at least 15 TM 30's a week but we never go to immigration. Apparently, there are things called 'apps' that work on line. Quite easy really. ????

    Sorry, I cannot answer you questions. But you say that you are - At 76, that is a good place to be. My motto at 72 (with a number of chronic illnesses) is - Live the rest of your life as if every day is the last. No debts. No regrets I wish you all very good luck whatever your decision. ????

    That is the bit that is wrong. I have checked out guests that were so stoned that they struggled to get dressed. Then they got on their motorbikes and wobbled off to their next fix. And people say that cannabis is harmless. Oh yes - it is not the cannabis - it is the people smoking it.

    Things are starting to improve with this CM smog. For the last week I am seeing stars at night and blue sky above during the day. Even the sea looked blue for the past few days The smog is still hanging around at sea level though. Cannot see the Angthong National Marine Park yet.

    Here on Samui, my thermometer read 50 C in the sun this afternoon. It only goes up to 50 C Bedroom temp at night has been 32.7 C for the last two weeks. Phew????

    Totally agree. I have been involved with the police numerous times in my years here in Thailand. Most of the time, they were very supportive and helpful. Only twice have I been asked for some money and one of those times the policeman told me to 'haggle'.

    It's a bargain if you think about how many bars you might need to stop and have a rest at ???? How many do you reckon? ????

    This is a bit of sniping by the potential losers of the election. No mention of the reduction in electricity rates by the current incumbents. Who benefits most from reduced electricity costs? Those that use the most electricity. They tend to be more rich. Most of the current proposed 'policies' by the parties are vote buying. Just that some are more subtle. (And misleading?)

    Do not put valuables in luggage that is in the hold. Always keep your valuables with you and keep them safe. I have not read anything lately, but there were a number of reported cases years ago (newspapers and this site) where someone would hide in the hold and go through any bags there. Passports were a favourite target. I stress that this was some years ago.

    Do you really believe that the armoured vehicles actually work? It is a bit like the famous GT200 remote substance detectors or the dirigibles that the army bought.

    Spot on. Unfortunately. most fishermen cannot afford such luxuries. They are living hand to mouth. Even donating life vests to them would not help. They would probably sell them for cash at the local market. This has happened to me twice when I have tried to help people. Bought all staff motorbike helmets. One week later - all but one were sold. Working for a charity, we bought mosquito nets for a few villages. Again, all sold.

    So, in 2019 there were almost 10 million tourists flying in to Phuket. How many by road and sea? Unpaid bills are more than 10 million baht (a guess?) 10 million tourists at 300 baht each........... Who gets the rest of the money?

    It is not called the seven deadly days for nothing (sadly). In the small group of people that I know - son of one friend died in a motorbike accident. Funeral was today. member of staff in hospital after a motorbike accident. neighbour's helper injured in a motorbike accident when she crashed after a bucket of water was thrown in her face. All very sad.

    And Samui is currently enjoying a drought. ???? You could not make this up. Land reclamation is the next big project.

    The article in the BP said that strong waves kept pushing the ferry against the pier until it tilted and took in water. The ferry settled on the seabed

    It is always sad when someone dies, but at least there are two less drug dealers walking around. Albeit one of them will be released again at some point.

    Raining over Fisherman's Village at the moment. I can usually see Angthon Marine Park from my place, but the hills behind Fisherman's was the limit this morning at 06.30. Update 08.30 The strong winds have blown away a lot of the haze and I can see all of the north coastline again.
