  1. Better still, do not break the law. ????
  2. It's not for everyone. People either love it or hate it.
  3. Stable doors and bolting horses springs to mind.
  4. 16 is far too young to die. Rest In Peace. Sincere condolences to family and friends.
  5. I was shocked to read about Ubon Joe passing on. RIP Joe. He has been a part of many threads that I have read. It does not need an illness for someone to pass on in this world. My wife was only 55, very fit and full of energy. One night, we both went to sleep. She never woke up.
  6. Hey Uncle Tu. Lowering your 'standards' does not make it easier for people to breath.
  7. Totally agree phetphet. Last week, in the sun, thermometer on my deck read 50 C. That was as high as it can go. Even in the shade it read 38 C. All April, the temperature in my bedroom has been 32.7 to 33.0 C. That is with fans on and windows open. A welcome downpour this morning has cooled everything down. Spectacular thunder and lightening. Of course, PEA transformer exploded, as usual, and so no one has power for a few hours until it is fixed. Again.
  8. So are there a number of ex-husbands? Or are the police questioning a dead one.
  9. How the heck will people know if someone has a work permit? As far as I recollect, the WP must never leave the place of work.
  10. Vote buying by any other name.
  11. Then you have broken the law (technically). The law for doing a TM 30 has been around for decades - but rarely implemented. Everyone should have at least one on record. I have lived here for more than 20 years and I do one every time that I return to my permanent address. It takes two minutes online. What's to hate about it.
  12. We process at least 15 TM 30's a week but we never go to immigration. Apparently, there are things called 'apps' that work on line. Quite easy really. ????
  13. Sorry, I cannot answer you questions. But you say that you are - At 76, that is a good place to be. My motto at 72 (with a number of chronic illnesses) is - Live the rest of your life as if every day is the last. No debts. No regrets I wish you all very good luck whatever your decision. ????
  14. Both cause lung damage. With E cigarettes, you just die from illegal use.
  15. Flying is MUCH safer than driving. Round trip - 4 to 6 hours playing Thai roulette? No thanks
  16. That is the bit that is wrong. I have checked out guests that were so stoned that they struggled to get dressed. Then they got on their motorbikes and wobbled off to their next fix. And people say that cannabis is harmless. Oh yes - it is not the cannabis - it is the people smoking it.
  17. Things are starting to improve with this CM smog. For the last week I am seeing stars at night and blue sky above during the day. Even the sea looked blue for the past few days The smog is still hanging around at sea level though. Cannot see the Angthong National Marine Park yet.
  18. Here on Samui, my thermometer read 50 C in the sun this afternoon. It only goes up to 50 C Bedroom temp at night has been 32.7 C for the last two weeks. Phew????
  19. On some weather web-sites it is sometimes known as 'feels like' temperature.
  20. Totally agree. I have been involved with the police numerous times in my years here in Thailand. Most of the time, they were very supportive and helpful. Only twice have I been asked for some money and one of those times the policeman told me to 'haggle'.
  21. It's a bargain if you think about how many bars you might need to stop and have a rest at ???? How many do you reckon? ????
  22. This is a bit of sniping by the potential losers of the election. No mention of the reduction in electricity rates by the current incumbents. Who benefits most from reduced electricity costs? Those that use the most electricity. They tend to be more rich. Most of the current proposed 'policies' by the parties are vote buying. Just that some are more subtle. (And misleading?)
