  1. You did the correct thing. If you had kept them, your previous honest life would have been a lie and you would spend the rest of your life knowing that you were a thief.
  2. I think that the fool is the one who wrote the dumb comment above.. Wrong. Thai tax laws are recent. Closing non domicile accounts is old. I suspect that it is the US trying to stop International money laundering across countries. (My UK Nat West account and HSBC account were stopped 23 years ago.)
  3. I never knew that one needed a licence to ride a jet ski. I learn something new every day.
  4. I wonder if having a criminal father and Aunt can be seen as an 'ethical violation'?
  5. I cannot be bothered to read anything from 'rolling stone', but........ ....... If Trump is in trouble/dire straits then that will make him very, very dangerous.
  6. Unfortunately, it does not take much to insult some Thais. Just one look That's all it took, hey Just one look That's all it took, woah With thanks to Linda Ronstrad
  7. Apparently it was just Soi 7 here. Power is back now. PEA said outages all over the island.
  8. Blocked parking is the norm here on Samui. In the end I sold my car - not worth the hassle. No problems parking a bike.
  9. Complete power outage here in Plai Laem this morning. All three phases out. No idea how long it has been out. No power, no water - just 'cleaned up' in the pool. Quite cold after last night's storm. And it is High Season - every villa is occupied. Phone ringing in 4, 3, 2................
  10. Thailand needs change more than it needs stability. The world is a different place to what it was 30 - 40 years ago.
  11. Sorry - not a clue. Never touched illegal drugs.
  12. Not a clue where to post this - apologies. But the new Forum layout is absolutely rubbish. I have never read a book, magazine or a newspaper where the index or detail is 'centralised. It just isn't logical. Please stop trying to make things look pretty and let's go back to ease of use and informative. Pretty please.
  13. We have quite a few different snakes here on Samui. Both venomous and non-venomous. Plus pythons of course which can still be deadly. I regularly remove them from villas - regular but not frequent thank goodness. Also monitor lizards, scorpions and centipedes. All which can cause harm. All of this is on a development. Semi-rural? Take care people. Just a question on I thought that it was illegal to kill wildlife in Thailand???
  14. Look in local clinics for GP's? As Sheryl says, it is not a 'trade' that is common in Thailand, but in my experience, the docs in the clinics tend to be more generalised. However, I guess that in Korat, language skills may be the issue.
  15. You can bet your last baht that this will be the case.
  16. Pictures straight out of Keystone Cops. I wonder why the police did not shoot at the truck.
  17. Clever timing by the Constitutional Court. Disband the only opposition party and then sack the PM a week later so there is no real opposition during the vote. The vote is already a stitch up - anyone except Anutin pleeese,
  18. Erm please note Thailand - you get what you pay for. Buy cheap, get cheap.
