  1. PP will have given Russ the excuse to blame someone for the delays from the lying Junta. When the Junta misses the next deadline, Russ can say - I told you so.
  2. We rent a small Thai unit for additional storage. I call them pig-pens. A row of single floor, budget places with a small kitchen, basic squat toilet, bedroom and living area. Start at about 2,500 baht per month depending on location.
  3. Another reason that the BOT should be totally separate from the government. Accuracy.
  4. And poor old Prawit has none. They are only on loan from a dead friend.
  5. What a load of PR rubbish. 600,000 students? Presumably all in Bangkok. From https://www.statista.com/statistics/1313137/thailand-number-of-students/ Are they all going to get one as they grow older? Never ending purchasing scam.
  6. Liar, liar pants on fire Xi. Cutting cables and military exercises are NOT diplomatic integration.
  7. And the pro Palestinian lemmings try and convince us that this is all the fault of the Israelis. I hope that all hostages are released soon. They did absolutely northing to deserve what the Hamas murderers have done to them.
  8. Blah, blah, blah, blah. There - fixed it. We all know that nothing will change.
  9. Thitima must be pretty desperate to have attempted this half hearted try at a robbery. Obviously not a seasoned criminal.
  10. Lots of 'red' and fires on the map for Cambodia today. Siam Reap 165 (unhealthy). Mabybe you need to clean those rose tinted glasses. https://www.iqair.com/air-quality-map?lat=9.53567&lng=99.93567&zoomLevel=10
  11. And Burma, and Vietnam, and Singapore....
  12. Great publicity. Well done PR team. The punishments are laughable and there is zero policing so nothing will change.
  13. Great (not). So now the path is clear for motorbikes to ride on. 🏍️ Negotiating ones way around the vendors was one of the fun things in Bangkok. Their stalls hid the cracks and broken paving slabs.
  14. Great story with a happy ending. Well done young lady.
  15. I agree - Thailand post were very good. I say were - since the lovely Wuhan Flu struck, we have not had a postman. EMS and couriers deliver, but no regular post for years now.
  16. So each tourist contributed more then one billion GBP? Interesting. We are not seeing many Chinese tourists these days where I am on Samui. Lots more from the Middle East, India and the USA.
  17. Got to pay for those minimum wage increases somehow.
  18. But that is normal for a minor altercation according to the law.
  19. Sadly, that is not the dumbest thing that I have seen. My late wife loved elephants and anything to do with them. 🐘 She adopted some in Kenya. I had to travel to Sri Lanka regularly and she would always accompany me. Elephants. We were travelling around the country one day and she saw an elephant sanctuary - stop here! The handlers asked my wife if she wanted a massage - by an elephant. NO! I said. YES she said and she lay on the floor. Elephant walked up to her and rubbed her stomach with its foot. That was it thank God. We had quite a long discussion after that one.
  20. I have three accounts with Krungsri (Bank of Ayudhya) and all receive interest. As others have said, interest rates in Thailand are not great.
  21. or hungry. A few folk get injured here where they still do elephant trekking. The tourist buys a bunch of bananas, offers the elephant one and puts the rest behind their back. The elephant is not a dumb animal. It swipes the tourist with its trunk to knock the bunch of bananas out of their hand. The tourist invariably is injured.
  22. I hope that the driver had the correct insurance for driving in Thailand.
