  1. Thanks for the warning to stop reading your column when the soccer ones hit.
  2. One difference between Thai inheritance law and the UK is the rights of the spouse. The spouse does not automatically get everything in Thailand. When my wife died, I had to get letters from her parents and siblings stating that they did not want anything and to give it all to me. No big issue though. The lawyer will advise you exactly what you need.
  3. I do not know any personally but try this search https://duckduckgo.com/?q=drone+photographer+koh+samui&t=ffab&atb=v343-1&ia=web
  4. Correct. All other airlines have stopped flying to Samui since Covid. 23 flights so far to Samui today. About average for low season. https://www.samuiairportonline.com/flight-status/
  5. Hot during the day and cool at night. No rain at the moment (and for the last week). Light showers forecast for the weekend with heavier rain on Saturday. Mostly OK next week with some showers in some areas. (According to windguru.)
  6. Methinks that Khun Chuwit may be having an accident soon. I do wish him all good luck though. Always entertaining.
  7. Being polite? Thais tend not to 'leer' as publicly as farangs do.
  8. Then stay away from Lotus's here in Samui. Almost everyone wear shorts, T shirt and flip flops - including Thais. Just see a smartly dressed lady/man now and again. (Thai and farang.) Thankfully, very few shopping in their bathers these days. It used to happen quite a bit pre Covid. (I do wear a mask to hide my unshaven mush! ????)
  9. Well done. Same for me. Mind you. We manage rental villas. I could hold a garage sale with all of the stuff that has been left behind in the villa after guests check out. Phones, credit cards, electric clippers jewellery etc and stacks and stacks of clothes etc We try and return items but some guests do not respond when we ask.
  10. Not raining yet. it's not Robinson's brand. It is Central Festival. Both in the Central Group. As you say - great market, Lots of Waitrose products and some Casino. Huge craft beer section.
  11. If you want Russian Oil or gas, and lots of countries do, you have to pay in Roubles.
  12. Bats live in the 'water tank/pump' area under my house. They sometimes fly into the house looking for insects. They are not a danger. Now the snakes...........
  13. They don't. Your conspiracy theory about weighing passengers does not work with travellers like me. I go to security, airport lounge and then catch the bus to the plane. End of.
  14. I only travel with carry on. Saves loads of time.
  15. I usually do online check in and do not go to the check in desk. You must be a conspiracy theorist? Either that or do not forget your meds tonight. Travel safely ????
  16. Be careful. Limits are different depending on the bank, the branch and on your personal settings. The limit on my wife's account with BAY was 500,000 baht per day The limit on my account - I have never hit it, but it may be in the millions. I am also with BAY.
  17. ??? Which Samui airport are you at? I have live here for more than 20 years. Flown 100's of times. Never been weighed. They do check hand luggage sometimes if it looks overweight or over sized.
  18. Correct. The only international flight to Samui is from Singapore.
  19. Totally agree. A friend was looking for a small bungalow in the area where I live. Most are only advertised on the 'for rent' sign on the gate. AirBnb adds $s and costs money. Difficult to find a 7,000 baht a month bungalow on AirBnb. Come over, rent a scooter and drive around.
  20. Happens most of the time in Thailand. The only person that I know who would do detailed follow ups for big crimes was Andrew Drummond. He had to leave Thailand (about 2015?) but he still posts on his web-site. Lots of false claims that his reports were not true but those claims were just that - false. His reports were pretty accurate. He reported on the murder of a friend of mine and everything there was accurate. (But he missed the bit about witness interference.)
