Thai Govt Pledges Continued Support for Equal Education Access
Does that mean that age 12 is when kids start to drop out of the education system and 15 is when they start to work?

But the fat-soaked, deep fried chicken from my friend on the street is soooo tasty and cheap. And the kids love it.

Russian Tour Guides in Hot Water Amid Phuket Police Sting
It would be easy for the tour companies to get around this little issue. More expensive, but easy. But I guess that greed has no limits.

Horrific Motorway 7 Crash Claims Eight Lives
It is not just the speeding that causes all of these deaths. It is driving skills as well as the training and testing for those skills. When I drive in the UK, I always set the cruise control to just under 10% over the speed limit. On motorway, the speed limit is 70 mph. Cruise control set to 75 mph. I am always the slowest vehicle on the motorway. Everyone else is speeding past me. BUT, the training and testing of drivers in the UK is pretty good, so the driving skills are usually much higher than those here. Result, less deaths and accidents.

Thailand Loses Top Spot to Vietnam for Chinese Tourists: A Call for Action
With a minimum salary of between 21 and 31 baht an hour as well as a thriving economy, maybe Vietnam is doing a lot of things right. Lower salaries usually means cheaper costs for transport, accommodation, food etc. It is where I go for an overseas holiday.

Replacement batteries for garage/gate remotes
That is why I take it to the 'professionals'. The lads that work with me are very enthusiastic, but typical untrained Thais. They make everything work - eventually. Light comes on as soon as I insert the battery, and stays on. I did try pressing all of the control switches but no change Thanks for trying to help[ though. We have ordered a new remote.

Replacement batteries for garage/gate remotes
Thanks Crossy. Stupidly, I took your well meant advice. However, you obviously do not suffer from dodgy digits. At 74, my hands are often 'trembling' with the occasional jerk in a 'random direction'. (Plays havoc when I am using the mouse.) Took the remote apart and bits fell out everywhere. Managed to put them all back - even in the right places (?), fitted a new battery and....... ......red light on continuously and still does not work. Back to the drawing board.

Nestlé Brews Up Battle in Thai Coffee Market Amid Legal Dispute
Yes really. They are by far way down the list of immoral and evil companies on the planet. If you look at the next line in my post, you see why. I have no fondness for Nestlé, but I do support fairness in business.

IKEA Goes Cashless at Key Thai Stores Amid Mixed Reactions
I have not eaten in those places since I came to Thailand back when Noah wore short trousers. And I do not shop in IKEA - terrible quality. Several villas that we look after are furnished with Ikea Krap. Needs replacing on a regular basis.

Nestlé Brews Up Battle in Thai Coffee Market Amid Legal Dispute
I do not drink Nestlé, but I do wish them well in this little enterprise. If Thailand wants overseas investment and to trade with western businesses, they must learn to treat them fairly. (I drink Chiang Rai coffee. )
