  1. Easy life always hot great food cold beer loads of sunshine (vitamin D) great people crazy driving drugs freely available what more could a young person ask for?
  2. I was referring more to the gutter press there which I believe is similar to what we read here at times. I suspect that the 'woke' rules would not allow the press to highlight the ethnicity/nationality of the person in the UK.
  3. Maybe. Maybe not. But the UK press would make much more mileage out of it if a Thai did a similar thing in the UK. Possession of to firearms Dodgy business Illegal encroachment Issue with an ambulance Assault and these are just the ones that we know about through the expat press.
  4. Xi probably says that the basin stretches to Taiwan in the east and the Philippines in the south.
  5. Sorry. Cannot help you in that neck of the woods. Good luck though.
  6. You'd actually have less violent crime if you stopped all drugs. Interesting story in the BP about a cannabis addict killing his father and blind sister because they would not give him money for his next joint. Sorry, I cannot post a link but it is in the social and lifestyle section
  7. Where is this to be built? Most builders would say that that can build it but look at examples of previous work.
  8. Good luck. Everything that you say tells us that you are spot on. Having a local from KPN should help.
  9. Never had Covid before. Since Covid, there is a shortage of pilots, airline staff, ground crews and planes. Less choice. Sorry.
  10. Yes, that is the law and the 'house master' whoever gets a fine. Meanwhile it is the poor individual who wants a visa extension who becomes 'illegal'. It is in our own interest to make sure that the i's are dotted and the t's are crossed. Just like the OP is trying to do. Otherwise, we lose out. Saying 'but it is not my job' does not help when you are in a room being 'interviewed' by immigration.
  11. At the end of the day it is down to the individual officer. Friends went to KPN immigration and I had warned them to take a TM 30 print out. All went well until the officer noticed that the hotel had mistyped the passport number. The officer said that she could not change it but told my friend to ring the hotel now to correct it and go back and get another TM 30 copy. She would wait for them to return. All sorted, extension granted.
  12. The TM 30 tells them where you are staying and it requires documentation/proof. The TM 47 only tells them that you are still there.
  13. Sadly, Samui immigration do seem to be pedantic when it comes to TM 30's. Is this your first TM 30 at this address since the new reporting system came in last year?
  14. Possible brain damage to the son caused by boxing? Over time, the term “punch-drunk” was replaced by “dementia pugilistica” and eventually "chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE)." Its symptoms, depending on the sufferer, include slurred or garbled speech, unsteady gait, tremors, loss of analytical ability, memory loss, mood swings, irritability, confusion, depression, and erratic violent behavior. https://www.boxingscene.com/damage-untold-story-brain-damage-boxing--157578
  15. So you are the reason that prices are going up? Legal fees, fines, compensation etc etc. They all add up to increased prices.
  16. If the government wants air fares to be lower, it should subsidise them. Not tell airlines what their pricing policy will be. The travellers will decide if an airline is too expensive or not.
  17. But it is already a habitat for human animals! Stop picking on the poorer people.
  18. Why kill geckos? They are harmless. There is a Thai urban myth that 'the tokay fell on my friend's shoulder, bit her neck and would not let go' but I think that story is put around by parents in order to get their kids to leave them alone. When I ask 'did it happen to you or did you see it', the answer is always 'mum told me'.
  19. So the Thais want the owner to pay for the extra facilities, even though they are looking for ways to kick them off the land?
  20. A good article by Thai PBS. It raises some interesting points. The moral of the story seems to be that if you want to hold a political demonstration, hire lots of ladyboys.
  21. Damm. Only third. Thailand usually aims for being # 1
  22. Not going to happen. The Thai military 'pseudo government' support the Burmese Junta. Refugees have been trying to leave since the conflict started but the Thais call them 'illegals' and send them back.
