As you say, nothing yet. The new government has only been officially in place for a week or so. They may have bigger issues to push through.

What is it with Thai perverts filming people in the privacy of their own place and posting it on public sites. Should they not be fined under the computer crimes act?

Thai Restaurant Industry Faces Crisis, Urges Government Action
Tropicalevo replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Let's look at the REAL problem here. Why do people open restaurants - because they can cook and earn money. Why do people open massage parlours - because it is easy to learn massage and many learn at home. Why do people open beauty parlours and hairdressers - because it is easy to learn after they have left school. The problem is that most Thais have a poor education with little or no qualifications. Where can they get jobs outside of the major cities? Factories want cheap labour (immigrants - no minimum wage). The above SME's are an alternative to starving. The government does not give a hoot about these small business. They do not put the ministers in power. Rich businesses do. Yes, there are too many. What alternative do they have? -
New Andaman Marine Ring to Slash Phuket-Krabi Travel by 90 Minutes
Tropicalevo replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
A 740 million baht budget (that will over-run) to save tourists 90 minutes for a once in a lifetime trip. From what I have seen with tourists heading to Krabi, cost is more important than time. 2 hours v 3.5 hours - they will not care. Will the boat trip (in dodgy seas at times?) be cheaper than the bus ride? Example - Tourists can fly to Samui in less than an hour from Bangkok (BKK). To save money, they will fly from DMK to URT in Suratthani - flight time is the same, then take a bus, ferry, bus (3 extra hours) to save money. Oh, and if they are on an International flight to Bangkok, the transfer from BKK to DMK can take 1 - 3 hours depending on traffic. Another white elephant project in the offing. -

Thai ministers and spokesmen are NEVER working together. It is always me, me, me. Internal bickering and power plays are just one of the things that are stopping Thailand from moving forward. -

New Lawsuit Seeks Dissolution of Thaksin-Linked Coalition Parties
Tropicalevo replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Be careful what you wish for. These folk are probably the only ones that can de-fang the military wannabees. That is why there were two coups and all of this effort on removing them. It is not being done for the benefit the Thai people. -

Neighbour Dispute Over Pets Ends in Double Death and Injury
Tropicalevo replied to Georgealbert's topic in Bangkok News
All cats should be put down. They are natural predators and kill all sorts of wildlife - not only for food. In some countries, free roaming cats are causing some native animals and birds to disappear, almost to extinction. The UK is considering laws that cats must be on leads if outside. By law - they must be microchipped. https://www.catster.com/statistics/how-many-birds-do-cats-kill-statistics/- 1 reply
