I once witnessed an arrest of one man by six police officers. He was cuffed and had no way to defend himself, but was beaten to the ground and repeatedly punched and kicked, for no obvious reason. I would have to admit I was not close enough to have heard any remark, if one was made, but the action of the arresting officers was totally barbaric and unnecessary.

It’s a mindset. It won’t change unless people are educated to change their mindset.
And the chances of that are??

Thailand should adopt American civil liability laws and then import some US personal injury trial lawyers. That would bring a stop to the situation, pronto.
Very doubtful. Where would the money come from? The average Somchai doesn't have any.

I had a KrungThai A/C in one province and moved to another. Asked the bank to do the transfer and they did all that was necessary. Only took 2 days.

Probably because they cannot qualify for it.
The basic requirement is to be working with a work permit and paying taxes for 3 consecutive years on extensions of stay.
Agree Joe. A person on a retirement visa can't get a work permit, so does not qualify.

no surprise really, was skeptical when I read the original article last week, they really need to get experts in the field to check out these so called inventions before making their BS claims, how many times in the past have we seen these fanciful claims without any back ground checks. The reporters really need to get a hold of themselves
The reporters really need to get a hold of themselves

That is a long que! And it is thoroughly inexcusable, on every level. The authorities have the schedule of all incoming flights. When they see a number of flights arriving within minutes of each other, it is their duty and obligation to get additional staff, to man the ques, and make sure this does not happen. They sure have enough lines for this, they have enough agents, and they have plenty of revenue. This is gross incompetency at the highest levels.
Tourists are already tired when they arrive, some on very long flights. The last thing one wants to see is an immigration line, that is an hour or longer. Shame on immigration.
Shame on Prayuth. Shame on the horrendously incompetent army. Get out of the way, so your nation can progress. Move aside. Let the nation grow and prosper. You are not the answer! You are not wanted, needed, or liked by the people.
Quite agree, but.

It is not required by any rule or police order. Also I was replying to a question about doing it with a online 90 day report.
Are you sure the didn't tell you to return in 90 days to check that the 800k baht is still in the bank.
I can only assume that was the reason. As the book and passport were handed back to me the I.O. said to bring the book when doing next 90 day. I have to also assume that would bean an update to the book, which is not possible as the interest is only added once per year @ 03/03
I almost had a problem because of this, but it was cleared by the Boss lady.

That's for not overflowing the water tank, nothing to do with the pump.
Actually it could be everything to do with the pump. Our water bill shot from 3500B/Month to almost 6000B/Month. The reason took a lot of finding. It turned out there was a very fine leak in the feed pipe to the toilet tank water cutoff valve, leading to water running into the tank overflow.

You don't since it is not required to be done when you do a 90 day report.
Don't like to contradict Jo, but I was asked to produce my Direct Savings Deposit book on my next 90 day report. This at KK yesterday, having just renewed my extension.

Nothing more sure than taxes and death. Take each day as it comes. If you wake up in the morning, count your blessings. No point worrying about something inevitable. BTW, I'm told you know when you're dead.

Just a thought when doing 90 day online. How do you show the bank book details for the first 90 day report, after renewing extension?
-
We Expats think logically. What other logical thinking takes place in LOS. In 30 years of experience of Thailand I have rarely come across it.
-
Did my extension today at KK. I.O. just checked my Fixed Deposit book with the Boss as the dates did not match the letter. No Problem. 15 mins total in and out.
