  1. Funny statement, didn't he manufacture this whole crisis from the start?

Yes - but now he and his family are much closer and better friends with the Shins. Don't want anything to get in the way of family business.

Really it has to be Thaksin, doesn't it. Aren't you embarassed about not checking facts readily available before posting complete bull? Well, obviously you and others are not, but the question still stands.

The Thai Army immediately took over the Temple as soon as the French moved out in 1954. The Cambodians complained to the ICJ in 1959 which led to the judgement in 1962 which led to the judgement on Monday

So please explain how Thaksin "manufacture this whole crisis from the start"? He was 5 years old when the Thais occupied the Temple, <deleted>.

You clumsily leap-frog over some important facts. In 1963, Thailand turned over the site to Cambodia, officially. So the 1959 'crisis' you referred to, was over. In 2003, Thaksin was coming under international scrutiny over the killing of 2,275 alleged drug dealers. There was outcry from all sorts of organizations, such as the UN, Human Rights Watch, and there was talk of genocide charges. New elections were coming in 5 months for Thaksin, 6 months for Hun Sen. A very good time to Wag the Dog. It was, I'm sure, coincidental that he had close friends in Cambodia of Hun Sen, and Pat Supapa, when in 2003 a Thai actress was falsely reported, in Cambodian press, to have said that the temple was Thai, and was stolen by Cambodia. That fueled the current crisis of shelling and military deployments on both sides, closing of both countries respective embassies, expelling ambassadors, that hitherto had not happened. This was the 'crisis' that spurred the recent Int'l court ruling. An aside- because of this false news story, Hun Sen was able to close down two media outlets that had been critical of his regime, Thaksin collected a very tidy sum for the destruction of a very funky AIS office destroyed in Phnom Penh.

The only embarrassment I feel is for your shoddy grasp of the local history, politics, and players, your lack of control over your emotions, and your spelling.

    Bravo!

  2. The police are in the ptp's pocket, what else can you expect. They let the red shorts run riot last time and here they are coming down on these protesters even when the pm said they werent to do so. It would seem that big brother is paying the right people to do his bidding again, this will just keep happening, its Thailand what can you expect

Some people might not know that but during the Red shirt rallies in 2010 there were parts of Bangkok that were controlled by the reds, not the police.

  3. You mean a wanted criminal that fled the country when he realized he couldn't bribe his way out of a conviction, and didn't want to pay the penalty for the crime(s) he committed, now wants charges filed against other people, and probably expects that they should be found guilty and thrown into the same prison by the same justice system he himself refuses to comply with ?

It's almost scary to think that things could (easily) get much worse, in a very short amount of time.

They wouldn't be faced by the same justice system he faced, unless of course, the Military Junta from 2006 have expressed an interest in getting involved in libel cases..............

All Thaksin's cases started in 2006?

  4. My dear fab4,

this Government and the BiB have frequently told us of their interest in spying on dissenting members of the population, so your blanket defense is somewhat out of place.

    http://www.thaivisa....tell-the-press/

You do remember PolMajGen Pisit's disastrous BS press conferences, do you?

@ Mike Oboe57 - Blanket defense was not the intention, he is trying to coax you into an argument, or agitate you.

It's what "they" do, the nature of the beast, so to speak. whistling.gif

Very true. You might have noticed that almost all of fab4's posts are only about making smart ass comments about what people post. It seems that his only mission here on TV is to try to annoy people. Luckily most posters don't give him much attention.

I forgot what you call a poster that attacks other posters instead of contributing something to the topic.

  5. I had the Termi on my Monster but don't want it on my Multi. Maybe I am getting old but I don't need that much sound anymore. And.....there is REALLY nothing wrong with the original Ducati sound!!!

Some buy the Termi because their bike didn't run well in standard trim. But then you can still do other things than spending a lot of money. But... some bikes run very well standard so no need for any tuning. My Monster ran much better with the Termi. Much better fueling. My Multi runs as good as my friend's, who has the full Termi.

And....you know what they say about Ducs: If it runs well, DON't touch it!

    My 2 cents

  6. --Ducati's new-for-2014 Monster 1200 has been voted "Most Beautiful Bike on Show" on the closing day of the EICMA International Motorcycle Show in Milan.

--Powered by the Superbike-derived 1198 Testastretta engine, re-tuned for mid-range power and rideability, the new flagship of the Monster family combines a completely new frame with high-spec brakes and suspension, single-sided swing-arm and lightweight wheels, with relaxed ergonomics, including Ducati's first height-adjustable seat.

Do the italian bikes always win? I wonder how they do in the reliability category?

They mostly win the beauty contest. Hey, they are the most beautiful bikes!

I don't think that there is a reliability contest but a Jap bike would most probably win that one with Ducati in a close second spot!

  8. I bought 2 new bikes from Ducati Thailand and they both arrived 2-3 weeks ahead of time.

^^ I think he means new model releases.

In my case it were new models

Really? In that case, I am sure happy to be wrong wink.png

The Ducati Thailand web page has a picture of a whole bunch of Hyperstradas and some motards. Which might not mean anything. Reading tea leaves here...

Latest info I got today at Ducati CM was that they're coming 1st week of December. That would make sense as the official release date was supposed to be end of November. Why they'd promise 1st or 2nd week of November initially, I do not know.

I was informed that I am #3 in the queue in Chiang Mai for the Hypermotard. Which will be easy to verify as Ducati CM posts a picture on Facebook of every new delivery with the new owner.

Might have to do with which (Ducati) dealer you buy them from. Some might move the delivery a bit forward to make the (potential) buyer excited, could be. If they promised 1-2 week Nov then they are wrong in your case. I only have experience with Tong Lo and they have always been very correct with everything.

Anyhow only 2 more weeks or so and you will be spending a lot of time with your new baby. Don't be surprised if you are spending more time looking, cleaning, modifying than riding :) But that is a nice thing about buying a Ducati. (IMO)

I also saw that you are on ducati.ms now. thumbsup.gif

  9. Funny how thing start off going in one direction and end up in another! blink.png

Do you guys want to know what the ladyboy at the salon told me today when I was getting my manicure/pedicure? whistling.gif But I digress! biggrin.png

a ladyboy gave me a haircut once ... never again

some things just should not be touching your knees...during a haircut !

Haircut from a LB is ok for me. A wash and ear massage better not.

  10. I'm not talking about the seat comfort. I'm talking about the riding position. Terrible. Sitting on the front 1/3 of the bike.

The Streetfighter 848 or Diavel s probably their most ergonomic bike in the lineup, no?

I sat on the 795 the other day. Dreadfully uncomfortable for me. Knackers squashed into the tank and my head felt like it was almost over the headlight. Beautifully made though.

Standard they are very uncomfortable for most of us. You can change it a bit with another handle bar and seat. The new monster supposed to be much more comfortable. You can see from the images that the handlebar is much higher.

The purists might not like it but for most it will be welcomed.

  11. They have a demo model in the phuket dealer, but it's just for show not for testing, they seemed pretty convinced that mine would arrive at the end of november, however i've been here before, my 848 was around 6 weeks late after waiting 3 months already, so i won't be holding my breath, just as long as it gets here!

Ducati has a history of over promising and under delivering in Thailand so yeah, I do hope for end of Nov but would not be surprised to see that date slip to xmas.

Kawasaki is the opposite, new bikes always tended to come early... Oh, well!

Duc CM had a demo hypermotard and a demo hyperstrada but the motard has now disappeared from the showroom... no idea why.
