And he's officially a "civilian" ergo, no immunity to arrest.
Yep. That's why he is so popular. Not hiding behind immunity or fleeing the country.
-
<deleted> Suthep is still walking around. Why nobody is going to arrest him. There are 90 dead Thais on his and Abhisits account.
Where is the justice in Thailand?
Thailand is not readz for democracy, there live 150 years behind the social and political evolution.
The amnesty bill almost brought justice back to Thailand.

A 'Peoples Govt' appointed by Suthep. Is that some kind of bad joke or at the very least an oxymoron?
Its a terrible joke. Anti-democracy demonstrations because they haven't won an actually election in decades. And I thought the system in Cambodia was bad.
Hun Sen is Thaksin's eternal friend. Waking up?

Reading through the posts it has become very clear that the hardcore Red Shirt/PT/Thaksin lovers agree with Nick's views. The rest don't.

Can't Nick sue for defamation?
I mean it's publicised that he has been accused of taking money when it wasn't true.
Oh that's right, that law is for the rich and powerful only.
He tends to agree with what the DSI is doing to AV and Suthep. Maybe he should file charges there.
-
Get well soon Nick. Those condoning or excusing violence against him are pure scum.
A report from Nick carries more weight than a thousand posts from the crusty, biased, uniformed fools who make up the majority on this forum.
TVF = Thaksin Vilification Frothers
So you must be one of the 5 guys that bought one of his red books.
I read this sentence on another forum (and I agree): Propagandists posing as journalists puts real reporters in danger.

About 1 month ago little Shin posted on his facebook page that Abhisit should be a man and admit that he had lost the game....

Thai students at Oxford - a real barometer of Thai public opinion. Not.
irrelevant to the issue whether or not they are a real barometer of Thai public opinion. They were invited and they rejected the invitation.

The officers were informed that he was hiding in the Ambassador hotel
Strange way to hide. Renting a room in a hotel.
But then again, TiT. One never knows..
Under another name...maybe?

Have the farmers been paid yet?
They have to wait an aggregate of 98 days in order to receive any money. What's a mere 3 months between friends?
Although, 99 days would be more auspicious date for money.
These farmers should have enough liquidity to wait 99 days. After all, according to PT, they are doing very well.

I think thailand depends mostly on agriculture, manufacturing and maybe tourism.
And sex tourism falls under which one?

If PM Yingluck dissolved the house and calls for a snap election, PTP will win once again and build a new government with Pheu Thai, Bhumjaithai, Chartthaipattana and Chart Pattana Puea Pandin.
Then nothing should be holding her back. Come on Yingluck, let's have a snap election!

The bank didn't clarify anything. It just said that it has no more money.
-
Those PT warriors are really funny.
So let's assume that I would rob a bank, be caught and have to go to court. Before the verdict is read I issue a statement saying that I will denounce the court's ruling.
That's a how you educate your kids folks!

Lawmakers oppose passage of bill for Bt2 trillion loans
By English News
BANGKOK, Nov 22 – A group of senators and MPs have sought the Constitution Court’s ruling on the legality of the parliamentary passage of a bill to borrow Bt2 trillion (about US$62 million) for infrastructure development.
A letter, endorsed by 55 senators and 11 Democrat MPs, was submitted to the Constitution Court through Parliament President Somsak Kiatsuranont yesterday.
The lawmakers said the government-sponsored bill was a breach of Sections 169 and 170 of the Constitution, reasoning that the Finance Ministry was not empowered to allocate spending without going through the national budget system.
The lawmakers asked the court to nullify the bill but no legal action was sought against legislators who passed the bill. (MCOT online news)

USD 62 BILLION (62,000,000,000) not million!

The people I was talking to last night seem to really hate the Shinawatras and really believe that the 2 trillion baht loan is their attempt to "financially rape" Thailand one last time before abandoning the country. That's why they've tried to push through a situation where there won't be much or any accountability about how it is spent. I thought what they said was pretty wild and extreme.
I have heard this a lot too lately. It seems that Thaksin is angry at Thailand and therefor want to destroy it.
-
Issues I did not have:
- Issues with fueling - the throttle is on a hair trigger but that's the way it should be. So far did not notice issues with stalling.
- Issues with seat. Toughen up, people
or yeah if you want the La-Z-Boy kind of feel, go for the strada
Congrats nikster.
Concerning fuelling issue, I don't think you are going to have any but you have to wait until you are really going to twist the throttle before that can be concluded.

The protest will most probably be over at the end of this month. Dems and public should be happy because they have achieved A LOT the last 4 weeks.
Well done!
They've achieved exactly what Thaksin wanted to give them. Nothing to rant and rent a mob for... so go home and wait until the next election if you want to change things. Silly me Dems are totally unelectable for the last 25 years even with an evil despot up against them. 4 election victories for thisThaksin chappy tells you the feeling of the Thai nation.
You are truly entertaining. I wouldn't mind having a drink with a self proclaimed street politics expert. You must have attended the Nick Nostitz university.
3 weeks of Suthep's protest and what do we have? Well, no amnesty, no 40 billion baht, red shirts feel cheated, middle class on the street and Yingluck is shaking. Suthep has done an amazing job.
Next election results might surprise you but since Yingluck is not mature enough to dissolve the house, we might have to wait a little. Anyhow, their failed policies are killing them softly so let's sit back, relax and enjoy the show backtonormal.
-
Please explain a few things to me to support that statement. Its over. Thaksin has outwitted them. Sadly.
Care to elaborate on that little pearl of wisdom?
Thaksin will have them on the street off the street, on the street, off the street. Thaksin is too smart a cookie to worry about suthep. Now resigned and no protestors to talk too. Backfired that did.
The Amnesty that would have allowed Thaksin to return with no jail time and no additional charges (to date I think there are 11 that are awaiting him to appear in court to answer) died.
He has lost a significant amount of support for hi proxy party led by YL... and that party is now at the mercy of the EC ...
His call to get the redshirts to the stadium resulted in an embarrassing turn-out ...
How does that equate to him having any control at all left?
+
he won't get 40 billion baht. It could have been a nice Christmas for the Shins but Suthep did a great job providing justice for Thaksin.

Yes she should step down (immediately), pack her bags, and book a first class flight to spend the rest of her life with big bro before more harm is done to Thailand. The lady has proven the last 2.5 years that she is unqualified in leading Thailand.

You are using Sophistry (look it up) to validate your feeling/opinion, not fact.
Democracy Monument is not private property: it is part of thoroughfare.Nice idea but you think that after they pack and clean up they can go back to the same site?
Can anyone have the right and ability to hinder traffic, affect the lives and hurt commerce of a 13 million people city?
It shows that Democrats, Reds, Yellows, PTP et all are no different from one another. They all have this notion of entitlement.
Anyway, who paid the Reds during their protracted protest? Who is paying the Democrats and Yellows to stop their work and/or commerce and camp out for 3 weeks?
I would like to know what they are using for money to pay their bills.
Do not answer: TIT
I see you have some judgement issues comparing the Red/Thaksin protest of 2010, and the people's protest of 2013. Anyhow, since when can you only use private property when protesting in a democracy?
Will you give and answer/clarification to the questions in my comment? "

I said: since when can you only use private property when protesting in a democracy? That partly answers following: "Can anyone have the right and ability to hinder traffic, affect the lives and hurt commerce of a 13 million people city? Affecting lives and commerce of 13 million people.... I won't even comment on a ridiculous statement like that.
Anyway, who paid the Reds during their protracted protest? Thaksin
Who is paying the Democrats and Yellows to stop their work and/or commerce and camp out for 3 weeks?" Democrats are paid by Democrats i Guess. I didn't see a lot of yellow. I saw the whole rainbow.
Blaming that the anti government protestors are yellow is soooooooo 2006. Come on man, grow up.
Pleased?

Is not funny hope that Russian tourists disappear from Thailand. This kind of posts show clearly the low quality kind of posters, au contraire thinking to be superior of another country people.
Exactly. You said it. I'm disgusted by many of the posters and their disdain for others not like them.
There are many Russian families here just wanting a nice vacation in the sun. There are dregs of society from all countries that wash up on Thailand's shores... There are plenty of decent Russians come here and it is a seriously huge tourism market for Thailand.
And by doing this they are not only making a push to keep their own citizens safe, but any safety measures (if taken) would spill over to everybody, Thais and foreign tourists alike.
And I'd like to add: There are lots of ultra hot Russian girls that come here and I've partied with them at discos before. My best friend here, a Thai, is married to a lovely Russian woman.
You are referring to the girls with the nice hot-pants?

What I do suggest to the protestors is that they take a 10 day break starting December 1st and totally clean up the site as the King's birthday is on the 5th December.
State that you are doing this to honour the King and when you come back you will get more support.
If you don't then you will lose support big time. The PTP will still be there when you get back and if not then you have won.
Nice idea but you think that after they pack and clean up they can go back to the same site?
