I wonder what the vote buying budget is.
All I can assume is that it will be enough.

The authorities, being the courts relying on information collected by DSI and RTP in their investigations, do not have the right information to charge / convict anyone. That's correct, courts go by law and like to err on the side of caution.
Lots of people suspect the UDD to be involved, probably via their shadowry MiB, armed militant arm (the left arm to avoid the right from knowing). Alternatively some suggest the Army was involved. With UDD supporters setting fire to lots of buildings and a few provincial halls, all because those UDD leaders shoutcasted for months "to be burn it, it's on me" it seems the Army didn't really need to blacken the UDD more by helping with yet another fire.
No proof, still waiting for more info. Personally I doubt a new look on the available material will provide any new clues, but you'll never know. One thing should be clear, it wasn't does two just cleared and it wasn't Thaksin either because he was right behind, very far behind his supporters, in Paris shopping or so

The 2007 constitution was approved trough a referendum isn't?
So if Thaksin so eagerly wants to change it again, why not have a referendum again?
Don't tell me Thaksin wants to save money so therefore the constitution should be changed without a referendum because holding one is very costly..- 1

NIce idea. Why not put the same cops on to this as are responsible for solving the murder that Chalerm's son was accused of? Perhaps for a modest fee the mystery man Puet can also be found to have torched these buildings. Case solved.
Correct. Most probably Thida and her friends at the police will sacrifice a few fellow Thai citizens and close the case.
Justice the Red way!

If the Red Shirts had not been there with weapons, there would have been no need for live fire zones ...... hence they were created by the Red Shirts.
Of course. We all know that.

And people go on about Yingluck!
He and other Democrat MPs have decided to boycott the vetting panels,
The "democrat" party - they're like kids, forever throwing their toys out of the pram. If they want to make a convincing argument about something you go to meetings and put that argument forward, not boycott the meeting and flounce off in a hissy fit. How do their electorate feel about their response? Guess we'll find out in the next election.
When you sign up to this forum in doing so you agree to the terms and conditions already laid out. You can't sign up and then say you don't agree to the terms and conditions. The Democrats situation with regards this meeting they decided to boycott, seems somewhat similar. If they agreed to participate in the meeting, they would be forced to accept the terms and conditions, and would not be given a platform or an opportunity to argue against the terms and conditions.
Yes, simple as that.

Another center is going to be set up by Chalerm. Why don't make it a division of the successful Pentagon 2?
Could save some money.
Tougher screening: start by recalling the passport of the fugitive former PM.

I though Tarit has been quiet lately.
He must be on a break from persectuting Abhisit and Suthep.
No No, yesterday he started going after the BKK Governor again.
It could be possible though that he was consolidating his second account in Dubai. That's why you haven't heard much of him lately.
-
For a moment I thought Tarit was a terrorist target - probably wishful thinking.
No no, you are right. He was terrorists target untill he started serving them.
-
Didn't Charlem say the other week there were no terrorist activity in Thailand?
I thought Tarit was paid to say what PTP told him. Oops lads wrong hymn sheet
Tharit will be subject to a pay cut under Thaksin's new "do as I say or your allowance will be cut" policy.
-
Tharit: Thailand region's No 1 terror target since I started serving Thaksin.
-
All for personal interest.
Creed (by ALL) will destroy this beautiful country. -
Well this is surprising, a party in power amending the constitution to better serve them. Its not like it has not happened countless times previously.
Then it's ok...I guess...

In Thailand you can buy anything. Yes, anything.

Correct. I think this announcement is a few days late.

The only people talking about Thaksin are the Democrats and the media, no one else gives a flying fig- if they stopped talking about him and reporting his every breath, then maybe the country could start to at least move on a day to day basis.
Correct! But how to make Thaksin stop talking/interfering...?
And how can they stop millions of Thais voting for him in ever growing numbers at each general election.
Perhaps if there was a viable alternative party to compete with the PTP it would be a start. Currently the opposition spend more time walking out of parliament in a strop than they do actually debating and putting forward viable polices to garner support.
Walking out of parliament or commit to borrowing 63 billion USD (pay back 160 billion USD) without a proper feasibility study. Correction, that was earlier.
The walking out today is because the independent house speakers are only working for Thaksin to make sure he will not be punished for all his crimes. Democracy at it's best!
Haven't we learned from the rice scam??
Where would Thaksin and his clan be when Thailand is bankrupt? Answer: Very rich and not in Thailand.

General election blah blah .
Well, your reply has nothing to do with it. Smutcakes say stop Taking about thaksin, I said that even we would stop talking it doesn't guarantee that he stops too.

I think you shot yourself in the foot with the education example.....
No you are wrong, I indicated that it was decades of rule under the "unsually rich" families that that caused the dire state of education in Thailand. I further indicated that it would take decades to repair the damage. Also your memory is not strong, Thaksin parties have not been in power for 10 out of the last 12 years. Check it out!
Well, I know that the decade Thaksin was in power not much happened. Come on man, you know that Thaksin could have done much more. Again, if you want to praise thaksin and his achievements, better don't mention education.

Thailand has unwittingly permitted its leadership to be hijacked by one unusual, rich and ambitious Thai exile living in Dubai.
Rather than having its leadership hijacked for decades by a number of unusually rich, Thai families living, who knows where!
Just remind me, I don't seem to recall any of those 'unusually rich people' ordering the deaths of thousands of innocents, nor inciting others to torch the Capital.
I must have missed the news that day.
No the damage done by those 'unusually rich people' has taken place over decades and has been far more destructive to Thailand that anything that may be blamed on Thaksin. Take a look at Thai education standards if you want an example.
Take a look at Thai education standards if you want an example.
As far as I remember, Thaksin (and party) were in power in power for the last 10 out of 12 years.... And what have the done?? Yes, spend a few hundred million dollars on tablet computers to silence the kids (+parents).
You can achieve a lot of things in a decade if you want to. Fact is that Thaksin doesn't really care about the educational system because it doesn't bring him much. Thaksin is a smart man, if you can generate a few billion dollars for yourself and family, you can surely improve the education standard. A few months ago the Thais had the lowest TOEFL score in the whole of ASEAN.
I think you shot yourself in the foot with the education example.....

Thaksin is busy talking, but is anyone listening?
Yes...everybody is listening...that's the problem. Who do you think was the inventor of the rice scam (cost 4 billion USD/year) and the borrowing of 63 billion USD (pay back 160 billion USD) for infrastructure?
