  1. PT claims to be against corruption and at the same time has been cooking scenarios so that Yongyuth can resign with dignity after being found guilty of a major corruption case.

I believe that even Jatuclown gave him MORAL SUPPORT during his press conference.

    Am I missing something?

  2. Aah ok. So you are a red-democracy lover.

What is the topic Mr. Twister? Please remind us! Come on!

You are really a baby. Yeeh but they also can do that..bla bla bla What about the dems.. bla bla bla

How about the yellows... pppfff. You don't get tired of yourself?

I can see this is going to be on a high intellectual level. You asked a question (loaded by the childish addition of a "qualification" if one did answer). I provided an answer. Whether you accept it or not is not my concern.

"I provided an answer. Whether you accept it or not is not my concern."

You didn't provide an answer to my question! You made another question out of it.

Again: Do you think he got any special treatment or not?

Your question was answered by me. When compared to all those yellow shirts sentenced to jail and especially Sondhi. No.

It is not permissable to criticise the Courts, not my rules.

Clear. No special treatment according to you.

  3. Which red-democracy lover dares to contest that he didn't get any special treatment? Come on guys!

Compared to whom, for example? Every single yellow shirt sentenced to jail but out on bail, and top of the pile, Sondhi?

    Special treatment? Come on guys!

The greatest test of truth - being in denial.

    Another wise lesson from scotbeve

  4. 2.Since most ordinary soldiers are from social classes and regions sympathetic to redshirts it's a reasonable conclusion that this might affect their political sympathies.

Complete agree, but again, when you start using terms like "most", you start venturing deeper and deeper into unverified speculation.

Perhaps if you provided statistics as to the regional breakdown concerning the birth places of all current members of the military, you might be able to lend some weight to your "most of the army" claim.

You could probably work it out yourself by looking at the deployment of troops during the events of 2010. I mean someone had to look after the barracks, yes?

  7. Nice try to blame the newspapers. No newspaper is 100% neutral, we all know that, therefore own judgment is key.

Fact is that all this division and hatred towards each other is caused by people who have deep pockets and are very good at misleading people for their own benefit.

    Do I smell ppd? ermm.gif

So you had made up your own mind beforehand, fair enough, you may be influenced by newspaper articles, but you're not the one fighting on the street are you?

Your point that this division and hatred towards each other is caused by
    people
who have deep pockets and are very good at misleading people is a good one, but don't just apply that thought towards the one man. Who do you think controls the newspapers and the television channels? Could they be the very people who have a vested interest in the status quo wrt "democracy". How do you think Sondhi despite 5 jail sentences, one very serious, for fraud, of 20 years is still walking around free? Why the immense campaign against a rewritten constitution that would restore Rule of Law instead of Rule by Law? Status Quo anybody? Thaksin is a convenient hate figure to distract attention whilst everybody else in the old amart jockey for position.

You know it's a funny thing, but just like Nickymaster, I thought I smelled PPD too.

No one, not even Sondhi, comes close to Thaksin in stirring up a mob - almost always for his own monetary benefit. As far as the 'amart' is concerned a line for a Who track is appropriate: '..... the new boss, same as the old boss'

The objection to a new or re-written constitution is that many don't trust the PTP as they only want to amend the parts that don't benefit them directly. By the way, there is not much wrong with the current constitution.

Lets start again . I maintain that the newspapers are deliberately manipulating facts to keep the old divisions going and provide a sample above. I try and be polite by suggesting that you are too western to fall for it and then you go and disprove that by coming out with the same stale old "facts" that you have obviously gleaned from the Nation amongst other similar sources.

My posts are targeted at people with some knowledge of the world around them and some understanding of the issues they address.
Best for you if you just put me on ignore.

Just because I don't fall for your crap I am too western without knowledge of the world around me?

Only information I will reveal is that I have been living in Thailand for 35 years and my family is Asian.

I don't have an Isan girlfriend so therefore I might not enjoy the luxury of having accurate information on the current political situation………

Concur on the strong smell. It's certainly distinct.

Also concur that Chalerm's solution of "not allowing" a second group to the same area as the first group

    is no solution.

Not unless the police decide to do that which they have failed to do over the last several years. It still could easily prompt the sit-in by a few shirts days in advance in order to be considered that first group in a compound.

(btw, it's strange that one would somehow consider that process as different than a first-come, first-served system.)

You're right about the constitution as well. It's always been vague whenever the query goes out to what exactly the Reds want to change. We'll find out soon enough though, because, as directed by the Montenegrin in charge, that will be the tactic now for the Pheu Thai Party.

    .

are you really one to speak out about reincarnated members buchlolz?

You are a really childish. Grow up man.

  9. Absolute rubbish. The only part of the Dem government that was seriously corrupt was the BJP members. I'm not stating that the Dems were totally clean but they were certainly cleaner that the current lot.

What PTP are doing is the opposite to what they say. They are enhancing corruption & as soon as anyone gets too close to the party beneficiaries, that person is transferred.

It's lucky that we have forum members like you who can inform us of what's really going on inside Thai parliament. Keep up the stirling investigative work.

That is an informative and contributing first post BigBanana.

    Welcome!

  10. This government is as serious as clearing corruption as the dem government was, neither have an interest in clearing it as both benefit from it.

End of thread, may as well lock it now

"BANGKOK: -- The government has put its anti-corruption strategy - listed as one of its 16 urgent policies and officially launched on May 18 - on the national agenda. Under this strategy, the government has assigned all agencies to "clean their own houses" with the motto of each department or province: "One project to prevent corruption".

"This government is as serious as clearing corruption as the dem government was, neither have an interest in clearing it as both benefit from it"

So why did they make it an URGENT policy if they are not interested in clearing corruption?

  11. I have to comment.

With 1 exception, 49 posts of miserable negativity.

What is wrong with you all ??

Quite astonishing, but I guess you all deserve each other.

    Don't bother responding, I won't read it.

I guess red glasses are sold out.

    Don't bother responding, I won't read it.

    BTW, my comment was positive.

    "BTW, my comment was positive."
Let's have a look at that claim shall we

And Thaksin will provide recipes on how to cook major corruption deals.
    cheesy.gif

All I can say is you have an interesting concept of what a "positive" comment is, as unsuprising as that fact is

Come on guys don't take everything so serious, I was joking. I knew somebody would bite. A bit of entertainment now and then doesn't hurt.

  12. Love this ...

    The Exoneration Act of 2003

Yongyuth claims he was granted amnesty in 2007

Constable Plod was granted amnesty 2007 for his dirty dealings

And the killing statement that proves guilt ...

"...a disciplinary panel concluded that the two had not done anything wrong, and Thaksin dismissed the case in 2002."

Your honour I rest my case. There can be no charges because all crimes committed are immune to prosecution under Thaksin law.

I have seen enough about the coward to have my own judgment. Atleast Sondhi is still in Thailand and not instigating violence from abroad.

Fact is that the crook wants it ALL. It's either winning or losing in his narcissistic mind.

It must hurt to see your hero suffering but justice WILL prevail.

    Are you from Zimbabwe?

  14. He has no right to meddle in Thai politics since he is persona non grata. He has about as much right as I do to meddle in Thai Goverment.

the press ask his opinion, he gives it, they print it. More about the press continually fanning the flames, which so many fall for.

Amazing how "his opinion" invariably is the course of action his government takes.

The press ask his opinion probably to speed up the process of finding answers on these plans and thus bypass the unnecessary step of asking his proxy.

eg. put the total constitution re-write on hold in favor of specific amendment changes of the OP.

    .

With respect, even the most unsavvy of political observers knew that was going to happen the moment the constitutional court acted unconstitutionally. They even suggested it!

All the time political luddites like the dems and their yellow shirt backers (in this case) were prepared to threaten using article 68 over a complete re write of the constitution with its, dare I say, more democratic approach of having a group of elected and appointed citizens to formulate it there has only been one other option. Rewriting the constitution section by section by parliamentary vote of politicians (and a large PTP/Coalition majority) is now the way on with no citizens allowed any where near it.

And all because of the paranoid ravings of an emasculated opposition. You reap what you sew.

Thaksin whitewashing himself and his cronies from crimes is unacceptable and will not happen.

Nice one Bucholz, and quite right.

Any comment on the yellow shirt violence ?

Yes and that would be no commentcoffee1.gif Oh wait that's not being very fair and balanced is it? Violence is bad mmmmmmmmmmkay.

I can agree with you on that.

Plus reports of a yellow shirt protester being arrested for possesion of a gun in the Bangok based Naewna Newspaper Co. article
