I recently asked for the price for a vitamin d test, she looked it up online and it was 900 thb. There is an extra 200 service charge and a bit more if you want to see the doctor. But you don't have to see a doctor. The price for me is in the last column. Very fast service in and out in about 15 minutes. Go back a couple of hours later to get the results. Allow longer if you must register.

If you stay in a hotel for one or more nights when you fly in before going to NR they do a TM30 for you. That releases you from the obligation to report to your IO within 24 hours. Just go and register there at your convenience and if they ask tell them you just arrived at your home the day before after having a holiday in Bangkok or wherever you stayed. You can also then register for the online TM30 service in your or your wife's name with their help at the same time. I don't arrive at the address and IO where my retirement extension is registered every Autumn until about a month after I arrive in Thailand. My landlord just tells them I arrived the day before and we never had a problem with this. Good luck!

If there's good light but not necessarily direct sunlight you could leave it on a solar battery charger. I just left mine for 6 months and it started first time. The battery does need to be charged well so give it a good run before leaving it.
