  1. I bumped my head on the ground (slipped when cycling) but was wearing a helmet. I thought I would get it checked out anyway as a had a minor headache and went to a major (and not cheap) hospital - actually saw a neuro-surgeon. When I told him I had taken a couple of aspirin for the headache he practically had a fit. "Aspirin makes your brain bleed!" he told me and recommended Ginkgo Biloboa (some sort of herbal remedy that has almost no effect whatsoever) to stop the dizziness. His 'brain bleeding' comments gave me pause as to his competence.
  2. these 'enhance' my reputation as a CM Guru so absolutely nothing really - similar to this forum I suppose
  3. Er - the little things on either side of the sentence are called 'quotes' and are used in reported speech - i.e. when SOMEONE ELSE is talking

  5. To anyone who is the slightest bit interested "Chiang Mai Expats & Locals was removed due to an automated error by Facebooks System. We have re-created the group that has been operating for 9 years en-counting. " Case closed.
  6. Chiang Mai locals and ex-pats (roughly can't swear to the exact name) - seems to have disappeared. Not the most urgent problem in the world I suppose. Expats & Locals Living in Chiang Mai which also happens to be the title of this post. It was there one day with 50k+ members disappeared the next (to me at least). As it was 90% drivel I was just wondering what happend to it.

  9. Excellent advice! As I need an AI like a hole in the head (which it closely resembles and my dog has a higher IQ 🙂 ) and I don't want to use the "free" options which makes portabilty difficult I have gone for this option. I did it and it seems to have worked.
  10. Office is about the one app software that I actually pay for for my Windows L:aptop. Now I am told the licence fee is going up a whopping 25%. I googled alternatives and saw this on "nerdused.com" - LIFETIME licences of Office for a tenth of the price! how can this be kosher? "If it's too good to be true it probably isn't" Really all I want is Excel and at a pinch Word.
  11. I was in a shop once buying sunglasses the assistant told me "these are unbreakble!" "Got any UNLOSE-ABLE?" I asked. I
  12. I will give you the benefit of the doubt and just assume you misuderstand my post. UK travellers must now make sure that their passport was issued less than 10 years before the date they enter the country when they travel within the EU. https://travelplaces.co.uk/ten-year-uk-passport-rule-explained/ Please check your facts.
  13. When applying early for a UK passport renewal any unused time is added to the expiry date of the new passport - e.g. apply six months early, new PP is valid for ten years and six months. After brexit in the Schengen area passport validity is ten years from DATE OF ISSUE so this means the time is effectively lost when applying early
