Possibly no pump required depending on the height of the tank. Check out the prices between 1 -1.5 - 2 m3 tanks. Offer to 'share' the cost with the owners, or do a rent reduction deal.
How high up would you place a tank like that ?

Oh no! Not another realtor. Me thinks thou protesteth too much.Whether its RE agent or not only cowards break womens noses and bad business practice applies everywhere in the world in many industries. Theirs more scams in the world then RE. think before you speak with whats in your pants please..
Sorry you did not get me the first time... When I say "hmm" RE related it means just that on the other hand if I would have been thinking with whats in my pants I probably would have said " Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm"

I think it about time again for some one to write about actual subjects that might help and interest people who are looking at this forum as a kind of information panel. For those who are thinking of moving to Thailand and in particular Phuket.
Let me tell you straight away that Phuket is an Island and PATONG is just a town on this Island ! Many newbees find this confusing. So when you read about Phuket is a cesspit and all those other nice words, usually they speak of PATONG.
It is a bit like saying Walking Street is the whole of Bangkok or the Bronx is NY City.
So if you’re thinking of moving to Phuket and you’re older than 25 you should NOT think about living in Patong. ( Sorry if I offend)
Moving on, where do most of the expats live. Well that’s easy, its in the Chalong/Rawai area, south part of the Island. After that my guess would be Kata, Karon, Khatu, Kamala, Patong and a few up north. All in that order.
Next, cost of living;
There are some diehards an this forum who will tell you, you can live an 20.000,-- Thb a month. Yes you can if you are alone, don’t mind what you eat or drink, chase the balloons for free food, don’t have an accident, no insurance, no girl friend, no friends, no life, no haircut, no new clothes and don’t mind a dam_n whatever other people think of you. Otherwise.. it might be a bit more expensive.
I’d say a minimum of 50.000,-- Thb a month should get you there.
Here is my personal budget;
Rent 8.000-- ( I am very lucky )
Water well 100,--
TV/Internet 850,--
Electric 2.500,--
----------
11.450,--
Smokes 3.000—
Beer at home 1.500—
Food @ home 5.000—
Extra’s 2.000,--
Gasoline 500,--
…………….
12.000,--
Pocket money 8.000,--
GF and her mum
Dinner out 2.000,--
Bar 15.000,--
……………….
25.000,--
So close to 50.000,-- with no children and no health insurance.
Now food on the markets are dirt cheap compared to your country but up to 4 times higher as in the rest of Thailand. Anything foreign is hardly affordable for an oil sheik let alone for you and me. You will find good deals but you’d have to be here for a while.
Bars and nightlife;
Down in Rawai area there are still plenty of bars selling beers for about 50—Thb, from what I’ve heard in Patong that might be a bit difficult. Later at night prices go up, up, up.
Transportation;
If you have only blinked at this forum you will already know never to take a tuk tuk. Some taxi’s are ok but try to avoid them as well, get your own form of transportation and be very aware on the road. People in Phuket do NOT drive the same way as in your hometown nor do they anticipate anyway near what you are used to. You might think this bike coming from the small dirt track will stop and wait till the road is clear…NO !!! This bike will not stop !!
I think I will leave it to the others on the forum to complete the info.

She wouldn't even understand English ..

Hmm can't be the owner of Deep bar if that's what you mean about opposite Freedom, could be the owner of Freedom ? Not sure. Anyway Fortuners are like the Mercs in the western world, own 1 own the road
-
Just delay it a few days and go to the Nai Harn beach starting the 4th.
-
Not sure about the nightlife in Kata in October, in Rawai its dead at that time.
-
Pls, recommend good place for currency exchange. Usually I use "Airport Exchange" oppsite the way out of airport' parking lot, however it's a little far.. I heard about good place in Phuket town, but WHERE??
All the banks offer much the same exchange rate. And just the same as the "Airport Exchange"
Not true, if you exchange large amounts banks differ a lot.

I would like to know a bit about renting prices. I live in Phuket and everybody says it expensive over here. Well I have a free standing, 2 bedroom house in a very nice and not busy soi. I've been there now 4 years and the rent never went up, 8.000-- thb per month, no down payment.
Phuket ( even Rawai where I live ) is run over by Russians and I on't like that very much. Is Hua Hin/Cha Am a good alternative ?
Sorry it's of topic.
-
Russians think nobody likes them and their behavior does not improve that image.

no mate u r wrong ..he is a scumbag ...he is well known around the bars and is a cheap bully .....twice i have personally seen him start fights .....on one occasion he stated ...ive been waiting to practise that kick all day ...believe me he is not worthy of sympathy ........another thought who is paying for all this legal work ....hopefully not the long suffering tax payerI must say I'm surprised at this decision.
Would be interested to learn as to whether a "no death penalty" agreement had been made by the Thai government as terms of the extradition.
It would appear that the UK legal system would like to see some penalty applied to this man as they seem to have gone out of their way to hold him on "unrelated charges" and thereby have aided the extradition process. Perhaps he is a known loose cannon and dangerous type that the Brits would like to see curtailed?
Sad to see two lives (victim and assailant) ruined over one man's inability to control his humility, rage and anger.
I don't totally agree that Lee Aldhouse is a scumbag necessarily,.. just a guy that went off the rails and will no doubt live to regret that!
Have to agree, he tried to bite my nose off one day, luckily I had a lot of Thai friends surrounding me.

Two beers in 1 hour is legal since it takes the body 1 hour to dispose of the alcohol in 1 beer.

Ironic that the subject of thugs be bought up at this meeting.
I thought the Govoner may have heard what had happened to me the week before but alas no as I was only one of three people I heard of being attacked in the same area that week.
Two weeks ago I had spent a pleasant afternoon at the beach and was driving home around 4.00 when what I can only describe as a complete maniac driving a mini bus overtook me on a blind bend nearly hitting a motorbike he swerved in front of me making me brake hard and nearly hitting a power pole.
I instinctively sounded my horn to stop him hitting the front of my truck.
His response was to block the road jump out pull open my door and punch me in the face,I managed to close my door turn round and drive off, he then started to chase me for about 10 mins.
I thought enough is enough so I pulled over and tried to talk to him to which he starts jumping up and down like a demented monkey and trys to punch out my windows.I drive off again and he finally gives up the chase.
I have since learnt that later that night he and his group of taxi thugs went round the local bars asking about me and said that if they saw me in any of their bars they would kill me and burn down the bar.
I have never seen so much hatred and anger in any ones face before and to think these animals deal with tourists on a daily basis
I have now closed my business and cancelled the opening of another one putting 6 thais out of work(I use the word work loosely as it takes 4 thais to do the job 1 could do elsewhere).
I have left Phuket.Something I should have done a while ago as Phuket has had it's day now and is only going to get worse.
I am now going to make it my goal to let everyone know how bad this place has become.Starting with 2 web sites I am working on.
Why the ---- they put horns on cars here astounds me be cause it seems you are taking your life in your hands if you use it
Most civilised countries in the world understand that you use the horn to warn other motorists you are there.
Not here it must mean something else.
So if your horn works best diconect it.
Sorry to hear that mate .I thought I had not seen you in a while.
Yeah I know one of the guy's you are talking about.
Thai on motorbike cut across in front of him at an intersection to go down the wrong side of the road guy sounds his horn Thai ---- chases him banging on side of his car. What is wrong with these people. They know they have total immunity when it comes to bashing farang.Has anyone ever noticed when you have a problem with a thai how he starts shouting for support from all the morons around him. What a cowardly race they are.
Give me a PM tell me where you are.The way I feel about this S--thole i may join you.
Tried to call you.Have you changed your number?
It shook me up at first and terrified my girlfriend who has wanted to move for a while now as she has heard how the locals talk about us farang with hatred.
Strangely it has done me a favour.
I am paying a third of the rent in a much friendlier place and it looks like I might even get some decent staff.
Unlike before when they spent most the time on the phone ,picking their spots or dreaming about making some more money lying on their backs.
Can't see me ever coming back to Phuket even for a visit.
So were did you go ? I'm asking because as high season is coming I can see its getting worse everttime, thinking of moving myself

Actually the clip is popular within the Thai internet community and people are outraged by the way it is handled by the police.
-
Might be able to make it, 1 question, somewhere it said "have your nickname and password ready... Well I do know my nick but my password is huge long and provided by TV so how the hell can I remember that ?
-
On Viset, half way between Chalong and Rawai, near the trafficlights is a store called TRC (me thinks) they make everything in stainless steel including BBQ's.
You can tell them exactly the measurements and how many burners you want. Super quality and cheaper than the prices mentioned above..

thanks for the replies

Cars that have been in an accident etc, are recovered and usually shipped back to BKK. Insurance wise is my guess.

Can't make it, working

Nothing to do with skin colour, only to do with bringing an unregistered girl in.
"is it not a rule to state it somewhere BEFORE the guest is booking a room for
a couple of thousand Baht a day?"
Did he ask the price for an extra guest before he booked the room?
yes he did. It is a double room he booked. A friend want join him on his trip to Thailand but had a time problem..so he had to go alone...
That is not an answer to my question or your own statement. So I'll ask again, this time more clearly: did he ask the price to take back to his room a non-registered guest before he booked?
The answer will be 'no'. So that means he is ordering first and asking about prices later.
So only in Thailand you must ask upfront if your room price includes non-registered guests ? And in your opinion this is very normal while in the rest of the world this is not ?
If the above questions are answered with yes then you have, as stated by another poster, an island view, maybe been here too long .
-
In a way I have to agree with Moskito. On the Phuket forum it is always the same "wolf pack" that attack a poster without having the decency to answer questions in a civil manner. "This is Thailand, get used to it or piss off" Jeezz how many time times I have read that. It is a bit like some expat bars around the island, you walk in and immediately feel like you are and intruder. The "daily bunch" would look at you as you were an alien and no conversation would be possible. Luckily there are many bars where on is welcomed with a smile and a "how are you mate"
You, very active posters are said wolf-pack and you are destroying this forum.
More like a chihuahua-pack.

A couple of decades ago the "all-Inn" vacations in Turkey were immensely popular till the Russians came.
A few years later most of the resorts banned all Russians from their grounds, for many it was too late.
