  1. I miss Weiner snitzel from the old german favorite in Karon. On the bend before the rear entrance of movenpick. Forget the name but it was authentic german. Mmmmmmmmmmm. Closed about 2-3 years ago.

it seems strange to me that a "Hans Gruber" can't spell "Wiener Schnitzel" tongue.png

Or know that Wiener Schnitzel is an Austrian dish.

but an hamburger isn't german either

And it's not made out of ham

  2. The alcohol excise tax on rice whiskey was increased from 120 baht a litre to 150 baht a litre based on alcohol content, and for blended liquor from 300 baht to 350 baht per litre. The tax on brandy increased to a maximum of 50 per cent from the existing rate of 48 per cent.

The new rate does not apply to beer or wine, which already face maximum taxes.

    source : forbidden in here

so no price hike on beer ? the bars in town will be upset ! i bet they already planned to increase prices by 10bt as a 6bt rise would of been an odd number

Hahum, there is alcohol in beer, belief it or not.

  3. Most westernes don't know how to read a map or of any clue to where they are. Seen some very funny TV about that, when asked where they are (on holiday) they would point at Brazil, being in Switserland.

  4. I went to a restaurant in Rawai. It was good.

On second thoughts it may have been in Nai Han so I won't say anymore.

No worries Nai Harn is actually a moobaan of tesabaan tambon Rawai

Just wondering because seems to me that if one does not agree there is no place to go and complain? If so that certainly would be against international and Thai laws would it not ?

  6. Dutch food in Nai Harn, seen this sign at Steak Rawai Sai Juan

Tried that yesterday. The name of the food is Dutch, the food itself isn't. The frikandel was way, way too dry. The kroket was better but far from a reason to try again.

Funny, I was there as well, liked the kroket ( a lot of meat inside) I understand the frikandel is more Belgium like because its made from beef. The lady who makes them also makes them the Dutch way but I have not tried that one yet.

  7. Ridiculous to believe that this was a hobby go go bar for one rich guy.

I'm sure that story got cooked up around the gossipy expat bars in that area.

Don't forget that everyone knows a big policeman or army general.

If you know so much, why are you asking?

The guy opened up the place but it didn't take off so it's now closed, and what do you mean by the comment about big policeman/army general? Have you been gossiping? whistling.gif

Thanks for filling me in with the local gossip. Wasn't aware that it had opened and failed so quick.

Never opened. The 1 in Nai Harn did but closed after a few weeks.

  8. When is this place due to open its doors?

Wouldn't mind a pretty young farm girl drooling over my baht.

    When??????

Not going to happen, place was finished a year ago but they could not get staff. Seen the owner (he was abrood) and his lady (pregnant) and not much is happening
