I used to like Easy Burger but now find them greasy with - somehow - a greasy bun. Tasty though.

90% bun, maybe 10% meat and what looks like thousand island which is an abomination and should not be allowed anywhere near a burger. No thanks. Agree with the poster that Nana burgers are great but that's because they get eaten at 2am when you're drunk. Has anyone ever had a sober Nana burger? And if so how does it rate?

When I first moved here in 1995 a group of people from the company I worked at took for me a seafood dinner. I didn't understand where it was back then as I had been here a week but it was out of town. Samut Sakhon is my best guess now, but could have been anywhere. The guy drove like a lunatic: speeding, tail gating, dangerously swerving in and out of traffic, I was absolutely terrified. Could easily have ended like this video. Like others have said I am glad no one else was seriously hurt but would not have shed any tears if the errant driver had a nasty and terrifying end. So lucky that the lorry that crossed to the opposite side wasn't smashed in to, by oncoming vehicles so so lucky. I have a lot of tolerance for the things that happen here, but not for idiots on the road - I wish them all harm.

Electric Vehicles in Thailand
josephbloggs replied to Bandersnatch's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Yep, and connected ICEVs can be remotely disabled. This anti-China paranoia and all these crazy "what ifs" are just silly. These same people probably use Facebook, Microsoft, Google and all the other apps that collect way more data on you than your car ever could. -
So you buy "expensive" air tickets, then can be bothered wasting your time going to your bank, queueing, waiting for cash, then visiting the airline office, queueing and wasting more time to hand over the cash, wait for it to be counted, to save 2,000 baht? Seems your time is not that valuable. I just book directly on the airline website for my "expensive" ticket, pay with my credit card, then pay the full amount in my bill cycle and don't have any added fees - you should try it. Even if there was no alternative to your dinosaur, queueing, time wasting method, and someone said I can save you all that time for 2,000 baht I would take that in an instant.

Electric Vehicles in Thailand

So the guy who doesn't own an EV and has never used a public charger is saying the person who does own EVs and has used public charges should not be taken seriously. I know who I would rather listen to. This forum never fails to amaze. -
KL too. And KL has repeatedly had them over the last twenty years.

Non B to Non O Issue / Advice
josephbloggs replied to josephbloggs's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Thought I should come back and update this for anyone it might help. I just received a 90 day, single entry non O from the embassy in Vientiane. Applied on Tuesday morning, received this afternoon, and fly back tonight. I had my marriage certificate, wife's Tabien bahn, passport, and ID copies. Also a print out from my bank. They gave the documents a cursory glance and didn't even ask to see the originals although I had them with me. I did have more than 400k in the bank but it had only been there a week and that was clear on my statement. They obviously do not need you to seed the money for two months. Visa fee was 2,000 baht. So I head back to Bangkok tonight then maybe in a couple of months will do the trudge to CW to get a 12 month extension of stay as by that time my money will have seeded for the appropriate time. Thanks to everyone in this thread who offered help and suggestions. -
Wow, you have really escalated this. From a personal opinion that Seatran are good into guff about “reasoned argument”, “worthless anecdotes” etc. You are obviously a very bored orc lonely man with not much going on in your life to pick on something so trivial. i didn’t make any great claims that should be challenged, just said in my experience Seatran operate the safest vessels. Run along and play somewhere. Or get a hobby. Oh and you didn’t counter with anything, no reasoned argument, nothing. So really not sure what your point is. I have better things to do so unless you have a different experience to discuss I’m out. Yawn.

Electric Vehicles in Thailand
josephbloggs replied to Bandersnatch's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I am in Laos this week. Actually surprised how many EVs here - nowhere near as many as Bangkok but way more than I expected. And a few Vinfasts around. Dreadful cars. They will only sell in Thailand if they are ridiculously cheap otherwise they have no chance. -
Like all opinions it is based on my experience. No, I haven’t personally done a safety survey of all Thai ferries in operation, but I have used many and I maintain that Seatran probably operates the safest vessels in Thailand. what’s your issue with that opinion? and then tell me your opinion and exactly what evidence your opinion is based on, thank you.

Bangkok Monorail Incidents Prompt Government Review
josephbloggs replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
By agreeing with @scorecard when he said KL's system had an excellent safety and service record, saying "Because this is Thailand and not KL." BTW workers were killed during construction of the lines in KL. Last year there was a report that many lifts and escalators were inoperative due to lack of maintenance. But yeah, KL good, Bangkok bad. -
Bangkok Monorail Incidents Prompt Government Review
josephbloggs replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Yawn. Not sticking up for the Thai monorails as these incidents are unacceptable but to claim the KL version is impeccable is nonsense. Take off your anti Thai blinkers and research before you post your tripe. Around the opening time a wheel fell off (sound familiar?) and fell on the head of a pedestrian. Could have killed them. In 2005 a tyre exploded and entered the carriage inuring passengers. In 2012 a train broke down and all electrical power was cut and trapped people inside for over two hours! People had to smash windows in order to breathe. Later that same year it happened again although the AC still worked so people could breathe while waiting for rescue. In 2015 a wheel caught fire while in a station. In 2020 another wheel caught fire and caused serious damage to the train. Last year another tyre exploded and caught fire, passengers had to be evacuated and the fire brigade called to deal with it. But year, KL good, Bangkok bad. Honestly it takes 30 seconds to Google to see if something is true before you blindly agree just because it is critical of Thailand, it is so so very boring. -

Yes indeed. I was talking to a friend last week who has one and he says it is absolutely unbelievable. -

Audi are offering 1.2-1.5m baht off the list price of the e-Tron GT during the show. It's still massively overpriced even then, but first time to see a European maker joining the big discount party. -

Electric Vehicles in Thailand

So no one has ever lost control of an extremely high performance ICE? Should I show some videos of ICE cars losing it and crashing? My God you are a bore. What are you trying to prove? I don't get it. -

To be fair, the "/" symbol is mathematically standard for "divided by" and has been for as long as I remember on any computer. Same as "*" is "timesed by". 5/10 = 0.5. -
Asia books is long gone. They used to have a big store which is the one you refer to, now they have a tiny one but nothing of interest (and even that may be gone now, been a few weeks since I was in Emporium).

Nitpicking but it was Thonglor, not Ekamai. Thonglor soi 13 which runs from Thonglor to Soi 49. Agree it didn't have a lot going for it although they did spend some money on the interior.
