Is It Just Me, Or Are Thai Staff Getting Ruder By The Day?
Andre0720 replied to SoCal1990's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
"as they know the cops will take the Thai's side over farang. '' No they don't, well not always perhaps. Many years ago, my gf called he cops because of a dispute over who should get the apartment that we were sharing. She wanted me to just leave the apartment, and to not take anything with me. She told me that I was in big problems. Cops came over, asked the landlord who was paying for the apartment, the answer was 'the farang". Cops put her belongings in their truck, and drove away... -

Foreign Tourist Saved by Thai Police After Travel Mishap

As a matter of fact, half the population has an IQ below 100. And as a matter of fact, 34% of the population has an IQ between 85 and 100. And as a matter of fact, 14% of the population has an IQ between 70 and 85. And as a matter of fact, 2% of the population has an IQ between 55 and 70. They are part of this world. Are able to get some jobs to get along in life. The army does not hire people with IQ's less than 80. Just the way it is. No job that they can fulfill in the army. I hope that the army just tell them that they do not have vacancies at the time, when refusing to hire them. I hope so. As they are the children of someone, and perhaps children of some members here. No vacancies now. Better than to call them bonafide morons, and tell them to go look somewhere else for a job. Better to celebrate when they do find a job. And how about celebrating that this guy found his way after all this ordeal.... Just a way to look at it..... -
In Case You Missed it, the Tattoo Fad is Over
Andre0720 replied to Walker88's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Seems to me that the decision of getting a tattoo is more related to the friends that one has, same as cigarette smokers. The number one predictor of someone getting hooked on nicotine or not, is about the people they hang around with. Parents might have some influence as well. But someone in martial arts have a higher chance of getting a tattoo. Just the way it is. But the good thing about tattoos, is that, unlike tobacco smoking, they will not kill you prematurely, like the average of 10 years reduction in life expectancy of smokers. Tattoos are simply some willful mutilations of the skin, akin to being scarred for life, while thinking that it might look good. A tattoo looks good only to the bearer, and no one else.... And the mutilators are referred to as 'artists'. Quite the irony. African rituals sometimes included such mutilation. Should have remained in those cultures.... -
13-Year-Old Boy Dies in Motorbike Crash After Making Merit
Andre0720 replied to Georgealbert's topic in Pattaya News
Your question is answered in the text. "According to a witness, the young victim had visited Wat Khao Tabak to make merit earlier in the day. On his way home" And no helmet, just like so many riders here, Thais of any age, and foreigners, mostly under 30 years of age. Any other question? -
13-Year-Old Boy Dies in Motorbike Crash After Making Merit
Andre0720 replied to Georgealbert's topic in Pattaya News
What this guy is trying to explain to you, is that at the time, people were not wearing helmets, same as in my time back home, and we survived. But as your indicate, things were different, regardless of the era. But what was different also, is that people had to drive responsibly. And that people would not let rocks remain on a road. Here, nobody cares. So yes, a few things are different, but regardless of the era. -
13-Year-Old Boy Dies in Motorbike Crash After Making Merit
Andre0720 replied to Georgealbert's topic in Pattaya News
Beg your pardon... All these people, young or old, drive so well, that to my amazement, they actually get home, after driving recklessly and irresponsibly on and on, as made possible by the non-applied rules of law on the roads. Since I do not believe that Buddha can help anyone on this earth, on the road or not, I then look at competency in driving as an explanation for the survival rate, while I would think that Thailand should be ranking first in dangers on the roads. Benin is a competitor, another source of amazement. Another country is still competing for the top position... And in this instance, this boy, at his age, at a high in his level of awareness, reportedly hit a loose rock. I am with you young lad. I will fall asleep sad tonight, thinking about you.... -
Pattaya Prepares for Silent Night: Alcohol Ban Hits Tourists
Andre0720 replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Oh rules, sign of civilization in this world. Must start with rules aimed at children one would think. And then, well, let's hope that someone is working on a next step to this new venture here....... -
The order instructs the US attorney general, Pam Bondi, to pause prosecutions under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1977 until she issues revised enforcement guidance that promotes American competitivenes “Future FCPA investigations and enforcement actions will be governed by this new guidance and must be approved by the attorney general,” the document said. According to the White House, the law puts US firms at a disadvantage to foreign competitors because they cannot engage in practices that are “common among international competitors, creating an uneven playing field”. *****************And this is why Trump is known for his common sense approach. And we will have to get used to what it means... Welcome to Donald Trump's new 'common sense' culture war

The Biggest Doge Hoaxes About USAID Spread on X by Musk
Andre0720 replied to placeholder's topic in Political Soapbox
Ok, let's take it as a fact that Musk lied, or misled, knowingly or unknowingly. Then your point would be that just about all politicians get to lie for some reasons. Well, if you can focus on Biden for a while, just to balance it off. Would be useful, and certainly not one sided as it appears now. Migrants in UK: The Challenge of Integration
Andre0720 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Well, you are not a reference for anything that has to do with logic, syllogism, sophism and the like. Something like: "The next time someone associates with LGBTQ++++, do you mind if I associate you with this claim? Do you see the problem in this logic??? -
Migrants in UK: The Challenge of Integration
Andre0720 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
This word 'racist' is known to be used in replacement of a narrative that people can understand. So the word is not 'racist', it is all about 'culture'. In many ways, integration in Thai society is possible, but it does not mean that foreigners should accept all non-civilized behaviors. And most religions, while all born from brainwashing of kids, are simply delusions. And most of these delusions do not favor violence. And there is an exception to that. But one must keep in mind that Asian Muslims are far away from the extremism of Arab Muslims.. And yes, yes, yes, many Arab Muslims are so nice people.... -
Migrants in UK: The Challenge of Integration
Andre0720 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Actually, foreigners integrate very well in Thai society. When we realize that prostitution was a result of so many women not wanting anything to do with so many of the men in this country. A baby, no support from the genitor, along with no financial support from these selfish beings. So many women remain single after that. And many men are using prostitution for sexual gratification. To a point where women took a number, and became an object in Thai Massage spas, mainly in large hotels. So they made the men pay now... And many foreigners integrated in this society, where many women started this business in smaller spas, but the result is the same, except that now foreigners have integrated. And Foreigners do not call for the eradication of Buddhism here, with threats of violence for non-compliance. Foreigners accept that people have their own delusion about spirituality. And I would hope that your description of UK women is based only on the leisure domains that you choose to visit... But I agree that Muslim women, while spending time and resources on facial enhancement procedures, that the rest of their bodies is not 'willfully mutilated', using ugly permanent ink designs, done by people ironically calling themselves 'artists'. -
