  1. This here is the real problem. Refined sugar sold at one Super Cheap Minimart, in about 10 days. Bought mainly by people who cook for others. All these one kilo packs of refined sugar, white and brown, were eaten by clients unaware that the cooks know nothing about cooking, and put refined sugar and MSG so that they appear as making good food. What Thai people here are used to is that taste of sugar, and they now love it. I cook with no sugar at all, I have not bought refined sugar in the last 40 years, and my food taste good. Just not because of refined sugar. And I will not eat Thai food. Unrefined food cooked by unrefined people...
  2. Don’t forget the sugar in alcohol! Just as harmful. Not true. The slow acting poison is refined sugar. Not what you ingest from food. Fruit are a good food for example. And the real problem is that Thai food is all laced with refined sugar.
  3. Children reacting the only way their culture taught them, in order to save face....
  4. Finding this dangerous.... Must have been a lifetime on the beach, oblivious of what can be seen on the roads.....
  5. That would not have happened if the local culture would not require drivers to go faster than a normal individual would consider safe...
  6. Better than in the US. Where Immigrants and visitors are just allowed to roam free on the streets, for as long as they want, stealing and raping.
  7. Yes quite right. The brainwashing that everyone is subjected to makes it that people do not possess 'free will'. So what we decide is based on what our culture has imposed on us. But when we deal with religious brainwashing, then this can make people act on their brainwashing results. Believing in an invisible man is a delusion. And these delusions can make people do horrible things. Religious delusions, the basis of so many deaths through history. My brainwashing related to having to shake hands with another individual, as much as it is the result of brainwashing, is in another level, as nobody will want to kill someone based on how a handshake is done.
  8. Quite so... I dream of the day when it would be illegal to brainwash children into believing in invisible men. Muslims are subjected to the most brainwashing in this world. So they refuse to believe in anything that goes contrary to the teachings of the Koran, and the Imams. The recipe for success in religious brainwashing is through rituals. Islams has the most rituals as it might be. Praying 5 times a day, the Ramadan, the visits to the Mosque, to receive a brainwashing boost to their delusion. And this brainwashing includes a deep rooted hate, particularly of the Jews, and is also extended sometimes to Infidels. So they will always find a narrative to praise Islam, and repel the infidels. Always....
  9. So small problems like this should be resolved by use of violence you think. A type of bar scam happened to me once. I paid and walked away. Never went back. Buyer beware. Lesson learned. Move on....
  10. Whale sharks are protected wild animals under Thailand’s Wildlife Preservation and Protection Act, as their populations have significantly declined due to hunting for their fins. *** Touched a wildlife animal, Jail ....Unacceptable behavior in the sea water..... Thai people are protected by many laws, as the population is decreasing due mainly to road casualties. ***Oh well, acceptable collateral damage to the culture of the land...
  11. Just look at the pictures. The brown sugar packs are more visible. But the white ones also. I see them regularly. Some packs are put on shelves, but they sell so fast, that what you see on the pics do not even go inside the mart. Thais are addicted to refined sugar. And I think that they do not know the consequences. Most of this sugar is bought by street cooks.
  12. I am simply proposing an alternative to eating bad Thai food laced with refined sugar. Robert Lustig: the man who believes sugar is poison The Guardian Aug 24, 2557 BE — Robert Lustig: the man who believes sugar is poison ... If you have any interest at all in diet, obesity, public health, diabetes, epidemiology, . Sugar Is Not Only a Drug but a Poison Too Because it can be difficult to completely cut sugar out of our diets, the least we can do is eat the minimum amount and opt for natural alternatives. If you are going to eat sugar, make sure it is the natural kind found in fruit. By Dr. David Samadi 152, Contributor Thai cooking includes refined sugar, always. So Thais eat refined sugar in every meal. I walked in Phuket town, going from restaurant to restaurant, asking if they had a dish that did not contain refined sugar. The answer was always 'no', No such thing. Of course kids can get away with eating refined sugar. But as i taught my son, it is important while aging, to eliminate toxic food, and certainly a product considered as a poison. I have not been using refined sugar for some 45 years. Then I came to Thailand. Then some 10 years later i started getting arthritis. Found out there was refined sugar in food here. I stopped eating Thai food altogether, so did my friend who kept learning from doctors all the time. One day he told me, 'I thought I was eating healthy here'. We were not.... My gf is from Laos. So quite easy to cook and eat together, as she told me that in Laos, there in no added refined sugar in the food. None. So the bad food, the slow acting poison, is mainly found in Thailand. Not in my country, not in Laos, and not in France, you should know. In every meal, 3 times a day, these people poison themselves here. My friend working as a police here, got diabetes. I told him to stop eating Thai food. Quite a shock. Because people wrongly think that Thai food is good food. "In Thailand, the situation of diabetes is continually worsening, with 300,000 new cases in 2023. In 2022, there were 3.3 million new cases, 150,000 more than in 2021." 7 Reasons why sugar is called ‘The White Death’. It tastes sweet to your senses, but it is actually very bitter for the body. If might make you feel good due to the beta-endorphin rush in the brain, but is very bad for the immune system in the long run. We are talking about ‘Sugar’, that is nothing more than a poison for the human body, if not consumed in a controlled manner. From causing cancer to decline in tissue elasticity, the crystal cubes are the source of many health issues that you can easily avoid by saying no to sugar.
  13. They are all packs of one kilo, ready to be taken out and sold individually. Amazing how intellectually challenged people can make up a story to fit a desired narrative. You should smell yourself in this instance....
  14. My girlfriend and daughter went from Phuket to Bangkok some years ago, to take a course on Thai cuisine cooking. I gave them $1,000 dollars for the trip and the fees for the so-called chef. When they came back, they simply said that it was all the same as in Phuket, food mixed with refined sugar, MSG, frying in bad cheap oils. They said they lost the time and money in the ordeal. Nothing to learn there. And since then, I have completely stopped eating Thai food, as I now have the opinion that it contains ingredients considered as poison now in the nutrition domain. Particularly the refined sugar, and the toxicity of high heat on bad oils. As the only good oils are now considered to be Extra Virgin Olive oil and avocado oil I add Sesame oil to my cooking for the flavor. Just about nobody knows anything about cooking in Thailand. The culture is about putting food in a frying pan, adding some refined sugar, sometimes MSG is added, then they add a sauce form a bottle bought at the Super Cheap mini mart, that contains typically another 20% of added refined sugar, stir it, and serve. Particularly the ubiquitous Soy Bean Sauce Just a joke. Worst food on the planet. If you want to take cooking lessons, go to France. And just check below a picture of the quantity of refined sugar that is sold at only ONE mini-mart, in the course of about 10 days. And Thai people wonder about how come they got diabetes.
  15. Ignorance is bliss. Might not want to be tested, claiming that he is certainly infected as well. So that later on, he can just act as if he might not be infected after all....
  16. This level of selfishness. Could end up with big problems for the waitress. Having to pay the bill herself, of criminal accusations, all that for the price of a meal. How low can anyone go...
  17. Got to be careful on these 'slippery' roads.......
  18. They have no idea what they are talking about. All these dishes are flavored with a sauce from a mini-mart Super Cheap store, that contains 20% of 'refined sugar', that is considered as a 'slow acting poison', and some refined sugar is more that often added to make sure that the meal tastes good. Super Cheap is actually the 'Chef', the one who makes the sauce. The real problem is that Thai people eat this kind of food 2 or 3 times a day. Most dishes are laced with refined sugar. One could argue that eating this kind of dish, once in a blue moon, might be ok. But in Thailand, it is like eating a whole chocolate bar after every meal, and boasting about how good it tastes. It is simply 'poison'. Slow acting....
  19. I see recreational drugs, tobacco, now cannabis, as having young Thai men, some that are still kids, as main users. They start early morning to come get their bottle of cannabis, hemp products, cigarette in the mouth, as these immature men need something like that to make them feel part of a crowds, and feel like men. And a lot of money is spent on these products. Just one seller close by here, bought a new Honda car, and a new motorbike as well. Men that are already immature, not wanting to take responsibility for their actions, even responsibility for children that they father along. Now the number of cannabis shops are on a course to surpass the number of 7-11 shops. I do not see anything good coming out of that in Thailand. Perhaps the government had good intentions at the onset of the liberalization of cannabis, and what they see makes them question their first decision...
  20. Cool. is it: Te "philosopher's stone", in Western alchemy, an unknown substance, also called “the tincture” or “the powder,” sought by alchemists for its supposed ability to transform base metals into precious ones, especially gold and silver. Alchemists also believed that an elixir of life could be derived from it. Or then: 2001: A Space Odyssey's monolith. Or only some music ☺️ Just wondering. I enjoy wondering. Regards
  21. Always enjoyable to read your posts GG. Style and content. Regards
  22. Perhaps because the investment and the profits might go to French nationals. Perhaps. targeted the store named “Or Derv”. Or Derv, sounds very French to me. "Hors d'oeuvres" are small items served before dinner, often accompanied by cocktails. They're most commonly found at cocktail parties or during the cocktail hour of a reception or gala. Most of the time, hors d'oeuvres are considered 'finger foods' and can be eaten while standing and mingling.
  23. Professional beggar not happy about offering. Those begging at food markets had a better teaching about Buddhist philosophy....
