  1. It appears in history that it is often easier to take power than to govern. I had to agree that seizing power prevented an imminent outbreak of increased violence in Thailand, especially in Bangkok. I also confess to being an optimist or wishful thinker when it came to announcements of broad reforms being instituted.

But now the rubber is hitting the road and some time has passed. The junta is finding that those who bid their time are now seeing where this affects them and are starting to show resistance in defense of their interests. Several interest fronts will now begin their opposition, the General will be forced to spend increased amounts of time facing this political/social opposition and have increased opposition to instituting reforms. In the end? Let us start the betting....overthrow of the junta? Restoration of a controlled "democracy" under an elite controlled constitution? A new constitution with increased democracy, reflecting a need to help the poor? What are your other scenarios for the future of Thailand?

Yep! I think the general started with good intentions but now finds EVERYONE is on the take and no-one wants to lose their own special gravy train/s. It must be really hard to try & clean up a quagmire like this. Even the people he thought he could trust will be misleading him by now and institutions everywhere will be opposing every change.

I think he should start on a couple of big ones ASAP. (One or more corrupt islands & land-locked enclaves and the R T police) while he still has martial law to back him up. If not very soon, then it will be too late & the people may decide (before the next election) that the reforms have lost their impetus and it has all turned into "same old, same old Thailand"

Please General, keep up the good plans you had when you started. Let the people see real results. Thailand desperately needs the changes you came in promising to achieve. If not you, who on this earth will do it?

. You mean the lottery to be no more than 80 baht, that didn't last long back up to 100 baht now,I am guessing that there are more back as they were.
  2. I have generally been a supporter of the PM up to now but I must admit I am seeing a few cracks forming in his almost stellar performance - talking the talk is not the same as the walk

His "quality Tourist" remarks were very confusing and mentioning the KT murders in the same context and statement disappointing and misplaced

The lawyers of the 2x accused murder suspects should obtain DNA samples from the accused and ask the murder victims families to allow samples to be taken from the victims and carry out independent tests in the UK - Thailand would have no say in this process or it's outcome - granted it could not be submitted in the court case in Thailand but would certainly put an end to the speculation. It would be better for Thailand if the PM ordered that these tests be carried out using existing evidence samples but it seems that is never going to happen and in my opinion is a grave error

    Yellow regret.

I expect to start seeing a lot more of this in the coming months.

I take great insult in you reference, it's attitudes like yours that cause the defunct polarisation that divides this country and almost destroyed it

as usual you post utter nonsense - I have no colour as you suggest - just see things with an open mind for what they are

Just because you don't plug for one team does not mean you support the other - there are many teams in the game and some yet to emerge

now run along and preach your rhetoric someplace else

. You do seem very Hi

So,or is just the plum in your mouth.

  3. one of which will be addressed by exiled Thai academic and activist Junya Yimprasert

Replace "exiled" with "fugitive" and "activist" with "red shirt" for Junya.

    .

    Wrong and wrong.

She went to live abroad, after which she was charged with lese majeste. She is a labour activist (and author), has been one for decades and only a tiny few ignorant people haven't heard of her.

    GIYF.

. Well I am glad to say that I am one of the "tiny few".
  4. You have the right to remain silent.

Anything you say cannot and will not be understood.

You have the right to hire an attorney at a cost of 4 times the damages you are seeking to recover.

If you win your case, good luck actually collecting damages.

    Caveat emptor, friend, caveat emptor.

i am sure this is fairly true, i would rather spend 200k THB on legal than letting someone like this get away with it.

I think he should be exposed publicly for what he is, reducing the number of victims in the future.

I don't understand your logic, you rather waste 200k on fees than go and buy new?.If your wife has a credit card you can buy new and pay at the end of the month,no interest, and a much better guarantee.

  5. The wife went to a meeting with about fifty others, the first day (yesterday) it was a meeting with the army, the second meeting ( today) was with the government, they were all told they would get two hundred baht a day,it ended up that she came home with one hundred baht, for the two days they deducted money for the coffee, and money for the meal (my wife did not have any of them) .The answer off the government was " well some one has to pay for it".Don't get me wrong it's not the money part of it it's their answer,I did have a laugh when she came home, the money now is going to be framed and mounted on the wall.

  6. .....see : "Hundreds of Billions of Baht ............allocated ............for flood-prevention scheme ........... by previous government"......

....now....see: "Over 85% of Rice unaccounted for".................

    ...get the picture....???[/quote

I see, you mean that the rice got washed away by the floods.I never thought of that.

Toad, you mean the mini-me version.
The junta in Burma sentenced ASSK to house arrest in Rangoon at her lakeside residence with no communication.
Do you think that the Thai junta will attempt to elevate Yingluck to a similar status?
I mean house arrest in Lad Prao, no Facebook, Skype, Twitter, emails , nothing. no Emporium, Paragon or visitors. Just tea with her son. Sounds rather cruel.

Very much so, the more so for vain, 'airhead', individuals! Now let each of us make up his own mind about that, as some here even find her attractive. Guess they must share the same 'conversational skills' (hey, you, I mean the lack of any such, clear now!)... Yawn, imagine tea with her, what a bore!

I would be thinking more of breakfast in bed with her, each to their own.

  8. Add cement trucks to the list

At least cement trucks can be somewhat forgiven as if they are late they have to chisel out their load instead of pouring it. That -will- cause a little bit of a delay..

If the trucks drum keeps turning the load will not set .I thought you would have known that.

  9. I'm sure red shirted, monk beating, crap throwing Thaksin fans have an unbiased support for Issara's right as a Thai citizen to expose the corruption of PTP. I'm also sure that many other citizens hope for a speedy recovery.

Have they put cones around his bed and outside his room?
