  1. just my humple opinion: if you often drive long day-trips, charging at up to 22 kw makes sense. otherwise, charging your car at 7 kw overnight in 8 hours adds 56 kw to your battery, which should be more than enough for daily use. (normaly a 3-phase wallbox and the installation will cost more.)
  2. as we all know, "where there are thai people, there are also hubs."
  3. it has been published in various media outlets, and some embassies have also informed their citizens ...
  4. if you like to inform yourself, here we go ...
  5. my guess is that the byd seal 07 will enter the thai market by the end of the year or at the beginning of 2025. it seems like the interior of the seal 07 will get a significant update. the byd seal 07 should be officially introduced in china next month, in august! https://carnewschina.com/2024/05/30/byd-seal-07-spied-in-china-likely-to-debut-soon-with-lidar/ it looks like the byd sealion 07 is expected to be launch in thailand in the next 2-3 months. i got only a closer look at its exterior (dark black windows and closed doors!) at the bangkok motor show in march 2023. byd sealion 07
  6. thanks for the info ... https://autolifethailand.tv/byd-sealion-6-dm-i-plug-in-hybrid-coming-thailand-8aug24/#:~:text=July 31%2C 2024-,BYD Sealion 6 DM-i (Plug-in Hybrid),วิ่งไฟฟ้าล้วน 95 km.
  7. what's your source? your firsthand experience, a crystal ball, or just making things up? anti-ev people like you always try to spread nonsense. get a life, enjoy spending time with your daughter, admire the beautiful view from your pool, take a drive in your bmw, or tell your wife you're bored and need a hobby ...
  8. at first, i thought your post was sarcastic, but no, it seems you were completely serious ... (with guarantee) i think, this taxes won't disappear! hopefully, the global income tax doesn't come into effect, as that would be a real game-changer.
  9. of course not ... they are all corrupt from the bottom to the top. everyone knows it and everyone accepts it. my thai teacher told me 20 years ago that corruption in thailand is like terminal cancer; it won't go away ...
  10. if I remember correctly, the seal 07 (2024) performance will have a top speed of 240 km/h. I hope the car will come with "suitable" wheels / tires ...
  11. i think i've figured it out, with a difference of a few hundred baht: - loan amount: 600,000 thb at 15% interest for 12 months = 7,500 thb interest per month - total interest: 71 x 7,500 thb = 532,500 thb + 600,000 thb = total sume of 1,132,500 thb. - monthly amortisation: 600,000 thb over 71 months = 8,450 thb per month. - total monthly payment: 7,500 thb (interest) + 8,450 thb (amortisation) = 15,950 thb. - your balance is reduced by 8 x 8,450 thb - 600,000 thb = 532,400 thb. conclusion: in real you're paying around 24% interest!
  12. how many of them are on the roads in thailand? about 70 or more, or at least one in each province? the price is still ridiculously high, around 1,800,000 thb ...
  13. i forgot to mention that PEA is now replacing the old disc meters with smart meters. this means they can see if you're feeding electricity back into the main line! one more thing, if you install solar panels and a few weeks later a smart meter is installed, your ROI calculations (including feeding back) might not work out as planned. but anyway, it's up to you ... ( i'm not against solar; i might install it myself too!)
  14. which is against the PEA regulations and imho not the best advice ...
  15. maybe it's similar to a car loan in thailand: they tell you the interest rate is 4%, but you have to pay this 4% on the original loan amount from the first to the last installment. in reality, the effective interest rate is closer to 8%. most people don't realize this, and think 4% is a good deal ... !
  16. a loan of 600,000 thb with 71 installments of 16,000 thb results in an annual rate of 24.28% interest! (total 1'136'000 thb)
  17. agree, speculation and scaremongering does not help! some people prefer to be proactive and prepare for what might happen, while others prefer to do nothing, believing (or hoping) that nothing will happen at all.
  18. "Seal won't start!! Battery dead (small battery), what should I do?" sorry, the video is in thai, but i'm sure you'll get the picture ...
  19. no ... but there a few others think about (starting out of the blue) "gifting" they wife's and so on. just remember, the TRD makes the decisions and calls ... i wouldn't choose to be the one who's testing it ...
  20. sure, i refer to a "stunt" as something risky where the outcome can go in any direction! (i think you know, english isn't my first language)
  21. i will fill out the tax return, as i have for the past 10+ years. by the way, i'm not working and i hope to receive a nice pension in nine years ... what i recommend to my friends is: - to wait end of february 2025 before taking any action. this gives you still time to get a TIN number and complete the tax return. - only transfer this year (2024) as much money to thailand to avoid paying taxes. the exact amount depends on many factors. - if possible, avoid any 'stunts' with gifts, savings, or things that aren't 100% cleared by TDA.
  22. how about this? i think it's better not to point fingers at others for "twisting the facts" ... https://www.expattaxthailand.com/your-questions-answered/
  23. how can we have a clear understanding when most of the provincial tax office staff probably don't have a clue either? the whole thing is much more complicated and may end in chaos. specially when it comes to interpreting the TDA, gains on stock shares, house sales, savings etc.
  24. it depends. if the tax in thailand is higher than in your home country, you have to pay the difference to the TRD ...
